***Please note that the security deposit is not applied to your stay unless the internet usage agreement is violated. Please read more about that in the description below***
This is a semi-private room with newer and very comfortable full sized bed and twin bed that can double as additional seating. This room is downstairs and just off of one of the main seating areas that can freely be used by guests. This room is meant to accommodate a short stay for individual, couples, or a family with children who may need to stop-over in Tacoma while traveling.
If you are an adult with children or traveling as a group, this accommodation is perfect due to the fact that the you have immediate access to the kitchen, bathroom and other common areas.
If you are concerned about your valuables, seeing that this space is enclosed by curtains, please speak to the host about that so that your valuables can be stored in one of the family bedrooms and retrieved by the host at your request. However, we've never had an issue with privacy breaches and will do everything in our capabilities to keep it that way.
Please speak to the host if you have a need to leave your property and return for it later in the day after your check out time. You can do so without paying an additional charge/fee.
One final note: This is not a hostel. This is a clean family operated, very well hosted Bed and Breakfast. You will be checked in on at times and asked if you are comfortable and/or need anything.
Eventually this space will have hinged bi-fold doors to make it a more private and lockable accommodation. Happy Traveling!!!
You will have access to all common areas on the lower floor. Unless expressly given permission by me, no guests are allowed upstairs.
Interaction with Guests
We do check in on our guests. Please do not be alarmed by the attention that you receive upon arrival or at my soonest availability. Please let us know if you have any concerns regarding the accommodations or space.
We are a short distance up the hill from the University of Washing, Tacoma campus in a family friendly diverse neighborhood.
There is plenty of public transportation and this area is prime for getting around the city very easily by bus and light rail.
Other Things to Note
Unfortunately, due to previous internet and copyright infringements by previous guests, you are required to sign an internet usage agreement prior to being issued the password for Wi-Fi access. The $200 security deposit is tied to this agreement. I have verified with airbnb that you are not required to pay the security deposit upfront and your personal payment is not accessed unless you breech the internet usage agreement that will be given to you upon arrival. We do provide a key for guests to come and go freely.
Due to the fact that I found an illegal substance after my recent guests, I feel the need to stress that this is a NON-SMOKING family home. Neither cigarettes or drug use is tolerated. It doesn't matter whether or not you have a green card.
If I even suspect that you're using drugs or intoxicated, you will be forced, not asked...to leave the premises. Also, if I get the sense that you are an inexperienced traveler looking for a hostel type boarding, you will be required to find other accommodations and I will request that airbnb provide you with a refund. There are plenty of hostels around and this is not one of them. Thank you!
TaNeashia is a ray of sunshine! She is such a warm and positive person and makes you feel welcome right at the front door. The accommodations were perfect for my needs and I had no trouble getting a good night sleep! Thank you so much for hosting me, TaNeashia!
Staying here was an absolute delight. The host is by far one of the friendliest people I've ever met so having her as my first ever airbnb made me feel very comfortable with this app and encouraged me to further use it in future trips. The space was definitely perfect for my group of three to stay in, and finding the place was in no way hard. Also parking was easily accessible. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone.
I had a great stay with TaNeashia. It was my first time using Airbnb so I was a little unfamiliar with the process but TaNeashia made it easy. The room was clean. Privacy wasn't a concern - the sheets worked fine - and I didn't have any problems getting a good nights sleep here for a few nights. There was plenty of parking on the street and the location was convenient. Its not fancy but if you're looking for a bed, some wifi and some interesting conversation this place should work great!
TaNeashia is a warm, passionate and whole-hearted woman. She made me feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease from the moment i walked in the door. My stay was nothing short of fantastic, I could not ask for a better host. Thanks TaNeashia.
Perfect location! TaNeashia and her sons were very hospitable! I enjoyed my stay very much! Thank you! :)
I had a good stay at TaNeashia's. I was in late and left early, so I never met her in person but her accommodations were as expected and she was kind enough to fix me some coffee in the morning before I left.
TaNeashia is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. Her and her sons were fantastic hosts, went out of their way to give me a place to park my trailer and were accommodating in every way possible. Its not the nicest neighborhood in the world, but it is a wonderful stay with some great people.

Hello there! First of all, thank you for taking a look at the offered accommodations! I'm originally from San Diego and have been living in Tacoma since 2007. I LOVE Tacoma, weather and all. I'm an Executive Assistant/Project Management Point Person for a small non-profit and am extremely happy with what I do. I'm big on family and friends as well as community and this is why I decided to start hosting on Airbnb. I spend my leisure time primarily traveling with friends or out and about in the community with a friend. I'm a HUGE foodie! Lol I can point out alot of not so well known places in the Tacoma area where you can indulge in awesome food and drinks for reasonably moderate or very low prices. I'm aware of a variety of happy hour and entertainment spots in the city that are within a 3 mile radius from my house. Nice, right!?!?! As both an Airbnb guest and host, I think the primary words to describe me would be clean, considerate, and generous. I like to travel in a way that is somewhat planned and then wing the rest of the trip, doing whatever there is on impulse or as the opportunity arises. I do happen to have a few life mottos and one of them is: "Life is what you make of it."
One final note to potential guests and hosts. I am very no nonesense in my parenting style and spend quite a bit of time with my kids enjoying life, so it balances out. Lol My teen boys are extremely respectful, polite, kinda sheltered, and well taken care of. They don't know life any other way and the one restriction I do have in integrating others into our lifestyle is that my parenting style is given the utmost respect.
