Lisa was a great host, relaxed and easy going. The location in Brooklyn is awesome!
the appartment is really nice. the brooklyn place is cool and near of the subway. It's very calm . Nice place to be. I recomend this place. And lisa and her family are very sympathic. France
Very nice room and nice location. Lisa welcomed me and was always approachable, though we haven't seen each other too often as I was very busy and most of the day not in the flat.
My daughter and I loved this location. Lisa was open and warm, even greeting us with fresh baked Pumpkin Bread. She even helped us plan some of our sightseeing. The location is the best in Brooklyn! Its close to the subway (6 Blocks) and easy to get into Manhattan. We would definitely recommend this host/location.
We stayed for 2 months at Lisas place and we had a great stay! It's a big apartment and the neighbourhood is very nice with lots of cosy coffeshops and grocery stores. We had the privacy we wanted and got help we needed. Lisa was very helpful and kind to us, a great host! And her boys were really sweet! The bed was big but a bit uncomfterbel. But overall a great stay!
I stayed September at Lisa’s place. The room was exactly as described. Lisa has considerately taken into account the comfort of the guests, for example there is a nightlight in the room and toilet, plenty of towels available and there was also a brochure of Brooklyn and map of Brooklyn busses in the room. The bedroom has AC, which was great in the hot and moist beginning of September. The internet connection was mostly OK in the mornings (although it disconnected at least once during every skype call I made), but in evenings the disconnections were frequent, which made working impossible. The neighborhood is lovely, although there is some distance to subway.
The family kept mostly in their own rooms so I did not meet them often. However, my breakfast time was same as that of the boys and the kitchen was sometimes crowded. Only after I had left, I learned that Lisa would have preferred privacy also in the kitchen and she actually cut my visit a month short mainly because of this. I wish she would have just said that she wished more privacy and we would all have had a more pleasant month.
The place is nice for a private stay but if you are wishing for a local experience, this might not be your number one choice.
After our first week together, Emilia was kindly asked to find other accommodations for her second month (giving her 3 weeks to search). My request to her was not due to "privacy" as she states, but a difference in personalities which made us uncomfortable.
Yes, we do keep to ourselves for the most part. This offers our guests a sense of privacy while staying in our home, but I am always available for questions or assistance. I have spent many nice hours in conversation with guests, giving local recommendations and sharing stories over coffee or a drink when time allows.
