We have a private apartment on our property, with it's own private entrance, parking, Washer/Drier, mountain bikes, sunning area & shared hot tub. Our home is on the backside of Diamond Head on a small hillside overlooking the ocean and coastline.
This cozy studio is fully equipped with its own washer/drier, refrigerator, bath, two burner stove, queen bed, dining table, private entrance, wi/fi, clock radio, flat screen tv, parking stall, pair of mountain bikes and back sunning area with shared hot tub. We welcome 1-2 people and offer a nice relaxing shaded backyard area to relax and enjoy the cool trade wind breezes, while sipping on an evening glass of wine or cocktail. Or a cool quiet time in the room with the a/c. The apartment is separated from the main house, by a door and a lower family room. Two mountain bikes are readily available for your use to ride around the area, or cruise into Waikiki. The owners, Terri and Don live in the upper part of the house and love to meet new guests.
We are Conveniently located behind Diamond Head, just 5 minutes drive to Waikiki, 4 blocks to freeway, 3 blocks to supermarket, 5 blocks to Kahala Mall, 1 mile to the beach and 20 minutes to the airport (by auto). We are a short 5 minute walk to Kapiolani Community College, and 10 minutes to the entrance of Diamond Head Crater.

They have extensive traveling experiences and are always looking forward to making new friends from different parts of the world. The apartment will be equipped with some breakfast items, as well as other treats. Don & Terri look forward to greeting you upon your arrival.

Terri & Don were great with everything! My parents we to Hawaii for a 5 day vacation and needed a place to stay so along with the other great reviews I had to book them with Terri & Don. They had everything set up and even allowed my parents to arrive earlier than the usual time which was perfect. Would definitely come check it out myself when I go visit! Communication was easy as well.
Terri and Don's place is just as described. Very comfortable, clean and perfect for two people. I appreciated being able to use beach towels/mats, and the bug spray came in handy for our waterfall hike:-) Having a hand written card and a box of chocolates upon arrival was a nice touch. The location is great if you want to stay away from the craziness of Waikiki, but close enough to go quickly if you want. Easy Walk to Diamond Head, and if you are there on a Saturday morning I highly suggest going to the KCC Farmers Market! I would stay here again if I plan of being in the Honolulu/Waikiki area!
A nice little studio in a quiet neighborhood in kaimuki. Probably best for a short stay but very convenient for freeway access, restaurants and entertainment.
Terri and Don made my first trip to Honolulu memorable. The studio is conveniently located near the airport along with a supermarket and a mall. It's also walking distance from Waikiki Beach!
The studio was very clean and Terri & Don't included a lovely note and gifts to welcome us. It felt very private, as they and the rest of the neighborhood are quiet. However, they were quick to respond if we needed anything.
This place is ideal for first-timers like me. Great studio, great location, wonderful hosts!
Teri & Don have a very cute residence for people to stay in. It was attached to their house but you have your own parking area and private entrance so it was essentially its own separate unit. It was nice staying outside of the touristy Waikiki area yet still only about a 10 min drive away, walking distance to Diamond Head, and 15 min away from Hanauma Bay and Koko Head.
We loved the gifts they left for us upon check-in and that just started a wonderful stay. This was the perfect amount of space for just 2 of us enjoying the island.
The kitchen has the basics and the closet with stuff to use proved helpful when going to the beach since we didn't want to sacrifice luggage space when traveling to the island.
I would highly recommend staying here if you want to experience more of local feel to your vacation instead of the crazy touristy areas of Hawaii.
We really enjoyed our 2 week stay at Don and Terri's place. Their house was very complete--soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, some food items, dishes, pots and pans, beach towels, suntan lotion, etc.--and accurately depicted in the pictures and description. The house was clean and the hosts were responsive to our needs. The hot tub was a real treat, especially on the nights there was a full moon. The location is perfect for Diamond Head and the farmer's market at KCC, and being outside but close by Waikiki. You can see the ocean when you walk out the front door. We were very pleased with our experience at Don and Terri's house and they were very considerate, wonderful hosts. Mahalo for everything!
The hosts were welcoming They left several gifts such as candy, a calendar, and coffee on the bed as welcoming gifts. The room was clean and as advertised and pictured. We were a little surprised to find the kitchen space was also the bathroom space, but we got used to it. Overall, it was a decent deal considering hotel prices in Honolulu.

Terri and Don are a very active couple in their 40's. Terri competed for 19 years on the International circuit, of aerobic gymnastics, attaining Silver Medals for 2 years at the World Championships. She retired in 2012 and has since been a physical fitness trainer, Master Instructor, as well as an Active Isolated Stretching practitioner. Don was born and raised in the islands has been an active Licensed Realtor in the area for 22 years. While both work out multiple times a week, Terri teaches 8-10 classes a week, which Don often attends, they also love to go on weekly hikes and take their dogs on long walks around the neighborhood toward Waikiki.
When we travel, we like to stay in affordable, yet comfortable places, opting to spend more money on our outdoor experiences, rather than a posh hotel room. We love to get out and see what the destinations have to offer and prefer to experience the local culture, rather than stay in touristy areas and shopping malls, shopping with the locals and eating in their dining establishments and making new friends.
Travel is a very important part of our lives and we believe in treating guests, the same way we would like to be treated, when we come to visit them, with the 'Aloha Spirit'. E' Komo Mai - Our house is yours.
