Quiet Town Studio Parking & Hot Tub

Apartment - Entire home/apt · 20th Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816, United States

We have a private apartment on our property, with it's own private entrance, parking, mountain bikes, back yard sunning area & shared hot tub. Our home is on the backside of Diamond Head on a small hillside overlooking the ocean and coastline.

The Space

This cozy studio is fully equipped with its own washer/drier, refrigerator, bath, two burner stove, queen bed, dining table, private entrance, wi/fi, clock radio, flat screen tv, parking stall, pair of mountain bikes and back sunning area with shared hot tub. We welcome 1-2 people and offer a nice relaxing shaded backyard area to relax and enjoy the cool trade wind breezes, while sipping on an evening glass of wine or cocktail. Or a cool quiet time in the room with the a/c. The apartment is separated from the main house, by a door and a lower family room. Two mountain bikes are readily available for your use to ride around the area, or cruise into Waikiki. The owners, Terri and Don live in the upper part of the house and love to meet new guests.

Guest Access

We are Conveniently located behind Diamond Head, just 5 minutes drive to Waikiki, 4 blocks to freeway, 3 blocks to supermarket, 5 blocks to Kahala Mall, 1 mile to the beach and 20 minutes to the airport (by auto). We are a short 5 minute walk to Kapiolani Community College, and 10 minutes to the entrance of Diamond Head Crater.

Interaction with Guests

Being born and raised in the island, Don is a wealth of knowledge of it's history and places to see. Terri is a physical fitness instructor, with 19 years of international competition in the field of aerobic gymnastics. They have two Golden Retriever dogs, which mostly stay in the upper part of the property, but occasionally will wander down to say 'hi'. Don and Terri love to take a hike 1-2 times a week and do some form of exercise everyday. They have extensive traveling experiences and are always looking forward to making new friends from different parts of the world. The apartment will be equipped with some breakfast items, as well as other treats. Don & Terri look forward to greeting you upon your arrival.

The Neighborhood

This is a quiet, safe residential neighborhood, with close proximity to Waikiki, Diamond Head, Kahala Mall, Supermarket, freeway access and beaches. Walk, ride bikes or rent a car, you will be able to access all of these places within a matter of minutes.

Getting around

We have a couple of bikes that we allow our guests to use to get around. Public Transportation is one block away in 3 different directions. The Bus system is $2.50/per ride. Private parking is also available for your rent-a-car, right in front of the unit.

Other Things to Note

We have 2 medium size dogs (Golden Retrievers) that are very friendly. The property is fully fenced in and we like to keep it that way, so they don't get out. Please keep the gate closed when coming and going.

  • We enjoyed our short stay in Oahu at Terri and Don's studio. It was just as described and just what we wanted. Having a washer and dryer was really convenient.

  • Great apartment for a couple! Super close to the city and the sites. Really awesome that there was a parking space right in front of our door. Overall wonderful experience and very happy with the way it all worked out!

  • This was a convenient and economical place for us to stay as we visited relatives in Honolulu...we liked it best because it was in walking distance of our daughter's house. We mainly used it to "crash" at night, but also enjoyed having a washer/dryer. We also used the snorkeling equipment during an outing with our grandkids. We will consider it again, for visiting our family.

  • The Town Studio provided a quiet place to stay with gentle cross breezes at night.

  • This was my and my husband's first time using AirBnB. Terri and Don have done a fabulous job with this place! All sorts of thoughtful add ons like snorkel gear, beach towels, and even a little welcome package. The location is fantastic as it's in a nice residential area but with easy access to the highway. We wish we could have met Terri and Don but they were out of town themselves. Their friend/houseguest, Tom, was very nice though. We've already recommended this place to another couple we're friends with who are thinking of visiting Oahu. :)

  • Great place to stay. Quiet location and the kitchenette was great to have to make breakfast/lunch. Bed is comfortable and the free place to park is unbeatable in O'ahu

  • Terri and Don were great. My boyfriend and I were pretty busy with things to do and just needed a convenient place to crash, but they added a lot to the overall value of the place! When we arrived we were greeted warmly by Terri and saw she had left us waters, Hawaiian mac nut chocolates, a calendar, and lists of things to do nearby. Very thoughtful! The bed was comfortable and having the AC was clutch because it got pretty humid at night. Didn't get to use the kitchenette, but it's there plus W/D!

  • Enjoyed my stay very much. It was nice to have some meal preparation facilities & to have separate accommodations. Appreciated Terr's recommendations to rent a car, that worked out perfectly. Everything was well organized, they left me directions, sight seeing suggestions & snacks. Would stay there again.

  • Thanks Terri & Don! We had a great time, and your place was a perfect base for us to explore the island. Great location next to supermarkets and easy access to the highway. Super quiet neighborhood, and the apartment had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay again, and recommend to anyone traveling to Honolulu. Thanks again for letting us stay!

  • The place was perfectly sized for 1-2 people complete with a kitchenette and washer/dryer. There was even a jacuzzi in the back patio to use! The location is quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. It's WAY easier to have a car if you're staying here, otherwise it might take more time to get around. If you don't have a car they have bikes you can use to get around. The place is in a great location and only a few minutes away from Kahala Mall, Diamondhead, and the Kapi'olani Community College (AWESOME farmer's market on Saturdays).
Terry and Don were wonderful hosts who were very friendly and welcoming. When I arrived they even had a small box of chocolates, a Hawaii calendar, and a welcome card sitting on the bed. So nice!! I'd absolutely stay here again the next time I need a place in Honolulu!

About
Terri and Don are a very active couple in their 40's. Terri competed for 19 years on the International circuit, of aerobic gymnastics, attaining Silver Medals for 2 years at the World Championships. She retired in 2012 and has since been a physical fitness trainer, Master Instructor, as well as an Active Isolated Stretching practitioner. Don was born and raised in the islands has been an active Licensed Realtor in the area for 22 years. While both work out multiple times a week, Terri teaches 8-10 classes a week, which Don often attends, they also love to go on weekly hikes and take their dogs on long walks around the neighborhood toward Waikiki. When we travel, we like to stay in affordable, yet comfortable places, opting to spend more money on our outdoor experiences, rather than a posh hotel room. We love to get out and see what the destinations have to offer and prefer to experience the local culture, rather than stay in touristy areas and shopping malls, shopping with the locals and eating in their dining establishments and making new friends. Travel is a very important part of our lives and we believe in treating guests, the same way we would like to be treated, when we come to visit them, with the 'Aloha Spirit'.
