Westside Sunny Comfy Den

Apartment - Private room · Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025, United States

Relax and take a holiday in sunny southern California where anything is possible. Leave your cares behind you and enjoy the sun all day.

I have a Den in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment, which is available for short term stays. If you don't know what a den is please please ask. There is a t.v. and basic cable in the den. The place is fully furnished and I provide you with linens and towels. Please note that the bathroom tub and shower for this is in the hallway and shared.

Both the Metro bus and Santa Monica Blue bus stops are about 30 feet away, both stops are literally in front of the building. (please do a search online for specific routes). Off Wilshire Blvd you can take the Metro 28 (stops at every stop), or the Metro 720 (rapid bus and makes limited stops) or the number 2 Big Blue bus. The fares range from $1 (Big Blue Bus) to $1.50 (Metro). If you prefer you can walk south for a block and take Santa Monica Blvd which has the Metro bus number 4 (stops at every block) and the 704 (rapid bus and makes limited stops) as well as the ig Blue Bus number 1 (which takes you to Westwood/UCLA) The unit is 5 blocks away from Bank of America, the post office and the library. 2 blocks away from the grocery store (Vons) and about 7 blocks from Trader Joe's. There are also many restaurants withing walking distance (Japanese, Indian, sushi, pizza, hamburgers and more) all on the trendy Wilshire area with boutiques, coffee shops and yoga studios. Don't forget the Sawtelle area also know as Little Osaka, which also has restaurants withing walking distance (Japanese, Korean barbecue, sushi, noodle house, pizza and more).

Go hiking in the Santa Monica/Brentwood mountains, surfing in the ocean, visit the Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade. Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Venice, The Getty Museum, LACMA, Chinese Theater, Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall and Griffith Observatory. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

My location is very user friendly, a car is not necessary for most places, you can walk, bike or take the bus everywhere. However, please do your research about specific tourist areas you want to visit to get an accurate idea of how far away a place is from the unit and don't forget to check the map section of the listing or do a search by map on here. Remember, search engines are your friends :). Santa Monica Beach is 3.2 miles away, about 10-15 by bus. Hollywood is about 9 miles away, about 20 minutes by bus. 13 miles/24 kilometers from downtown Los Angeles and 11 miles/17.7 kilometers to LAX (Los Angeles Airport). If you are driving, the 405 and 10 freeway are right next door :) If you do drive, you can use my parking spaces, there are 2 and on the rare occasion I do have a car (I rent one once in a while) you can park on the street as there is plenty of free parking no permit necessary.

Please note that close proximity to the bus stops is great but it comes with noisy disadvantages. I just moved to this apartment which is just a few feet away from the Wilshire bus stops so if you are a very very light sleeper, like me :( you'll probably need earplugs.

  • While the den was as described communication was definitely an issue. I went over after my afternoon meeting but the host wasn't available so I went to dinner on the corner before receiving a half dozen emails and frantic texts that I had to show up NOW because the host was going to the airport. News to me. Got a 1 minute tour and never saw her again. Biggest frustration was that the parking spots were NOT available as advertised (the reason I searched for that feature was because I wanted it...) and it cost me significantly more in parking. There is not ample free street parking, this is LA. There are meters and limited street parking for 3,000 people in the apartment buildings.

    Response from Fiftyfive:

Kelly, I am sorry you feel that way. Communication was a huge problem but I feel it was due more to the fact that you did not bother to read any of my messages and then blamed me for not communicating with you. I also waited for you for over 2 hours even though I told you via e-mail on March 13 that I was flying out to Miami that night and I missed my flight of 9:45 pm. because of you. Even so I was not angry and I was understanding of you. You told me, around 6:45 pm that you were going to grab a quick bite but by 9 pm I had not heard from you and I called you, texted you and received no answer and well you didn't show up till 9:30 pm dishevel and smelled as if you had been drinking. I completely understand the whole St. Patrick's day thing but that's unacceptable. You showed up so late I had not time to show you my parking spot which I was going to let you use since I was fully booked and the den doesn't automatically have a space. So if I was flying out and not in town then you would have my spot. Again check your messages as I know I told you so. You also claim you had no idea I was flying out that night but I have a message dated March 13 of me telling you so. Best of luck to you.

  • I had a great time at Caroline's place, she is so nice that upgrade my private room to a studio at no additional charge after she knew I had a interview second day. I would definitely stay at her place if I ever visit Santa Monica again.
