Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting new people and getting to know our guests on the evenings after work and on the weekends but we understand that their having a great experience in DC can also be tiring.
Our neighborhood is very safe, quiet, and conveniently located at walking distance from the metro, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and the Ballston Mall. Our neighbors are mostly working professionals in their mid 20's to mid 30's.
It's really easy to get to/from our apartment. We are a 5 minute walk to the orange line - a straight shot to the National Mall. We have a Capital Bikeshare stations two blocks away which makes for a nice 15 min bike ride to Georgetown, and a major bus hub leaving from the Ballston metro station if you need to go west. Close to hwys 66, 395 and 50, it's easy to get anywhere in a car.
We expect our guests to behave the same they would want their own guests to behave :-) That means being clean and respectful of the space and privacy.
• No smoking is allowed though we have a balcony you can use.
• Please remove your shoes before entering carpeted space. We have a shoe storage at the entrance for your convenience.
I enjoyed my stay with Carolina and Vincent. They were very nice and the room was very clean and comfortable. They were accommodating when my flight was delayed so I arrived several hours later than I thought I would. They were very helpful with everything.
Carolina and Vincent were great hosts and really interesting people in general. We had some good conversations while I was staying with them and I'm looking forward to remaining in touch with them. The apartment itself is really well-kept and aesthetically decorated. The commute from the neighborhood into DC is convenient and there are plenty of shops/restaurants in close proximity. Great experience overall.
Carolina and Vincent were wonderful hosts. They welcomed us with kindness that was much appreciated at a difficult moment in our lives. Their space was beautiful, well-organized and very clean. The artistic touches were fun! We are very grateful for their hospitality and recommend them without reservation. Thank you!
This place is as great as the pictures say it is. Carolina and Vincent are very gracious and welcoming hosts. They gave me my own space in the refrigerator and full use of their kitchen. There's a grocery store two blocks away.
I was in DC for a conference, and this was a much better option than the expensive hotel that the conference recommended. It takes about 20 minutes to get into DC during rush-hour; be careful about returns late in the evening - some tracks shut down, and there's a lot of train congestion.
I stayed at Carolina's and Vincent's place while on a business trip in Washington DC. The room with bathroom was great and so was the futon. Good night sleeps garanteed! I kind of felt at home. Carolina and Vincent were very flexible in waiting for my arrival and the possibilty of leaving my bags in the house on the last day before going to the AirPort. They were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Carolina and Vincent were very welcoming and have a very comfortable home. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are 2 train stations within a few minutes walk. I appreciated the warm welcome and the interest they showed in my activities. I would definitely recommend the Moroccan Room to anybody looking for a comfortable place with gracious hosts.
About the Host, Carolina & Vincent
We love to travel, meet new people, and take any excuse to go somewhere whether near or far. For our 2015 resolution we decided to travel the world or as much as we can cover!
We start our adventure on Jan 23, 2015 with a month-long road trip throughout the U.S. before heading south to Mexico, Guatemala and the rest of South America. From there, we have not decided which direction to go. On our travels, we will both be working to get more experience in our respective disciplines - Carolina with photography and Vincent with writing and museum visitor experience.
We used to be Airbnb hosts prior to our travels and look forward to meeting new people and hopefully making new friends along the way!
