1 bedroom, apartment (65 meters sq.) big terrace (40 meters sq.), access to garden and harbor view (limited), fully furnished. Kitchen with all the facilities a foodie needs! 15 minutes on bike to town square. The apprtment is not a good choice for families with children (babies ok), perfect for singles or couples. The area is new (most apartments less when 7 years old) and is has very easy access to all the things Copenhagen has to offer, and Malmö in Sweden too. The area is safe and quiet and near the new swimmingpool in the harbour - "Havnebadet".
This is not a typical rental place, it is my private home, that I am renting out while traveling and working abroad, so I am not doing this to make a profit, but more so that others might enjoy my home and look after it while I am away. This also means that it has a much more homey feel to it when your typical rental space.
I am providing you with towels and bed linnen, but I do not have a hairdryer and there is no phone !!! So bring a mobile phone with you if tyhis is important and think about bying a calling card with a danish SIM at 50 Dkr. in the nearest netto!
Of special interest to American visitors, I can mention, that I have a build in, American transformer in the kitchen, meaning that all american electrical appliances can be plugged directly into 4 plugs in the kitchen!
You have all the basic shopping within walking distance, but for a real treat take bus 10 to Isted gade (the old red light district, which today is also the buzzing hub for trendy cafes and ethnic greengrocers) or take the S-train 10 minutes to Nørreport and see Torvehallerne - the new Gourmet shopping food halls (website hidden)
Copenhagen has a lot of great restaurants and in no time you can be at one of my favorites Italian places - Fiasco (website hidden) or take bus 3A right to the best yoga place in Denmark - Hamsa Yoga - (website hidden)
You have the whole appartment to yourself.
Interaction with Guests
I will not be there to meet you as I live in Norway most of the time, so all interaction is going to happen via phone and email. - I am however very fast in responding to email!
15 minutes on bike to town square.
easy access to all the things Copenhagen has to offer, and Malmö in Sweden too. The area is safe and quiet and near the new swimmingpool in the harbour - "Havnebadet".
5 minutes walking to bus and 10 to the s-train.
No indoor smoking, no wild parties - friends over for dinner is ok :)
I have a nice home with expensive furniture and so I expect you to treat it with respect. Unfortunately experience has shown that I need to state that indoor furniture and indoor cushions / pillows DO NOT go outdoor! I am a very easy going kind of person, but that does not mean that I do not care.
"Get over yourself. I am not responsible for you not being able to find what over 50 other guests have found not problem!" It's the exact message from Jacob when I shared my frustration afterwards that I couldn't find his place. In his instruction, he only said it takes 5-8 mins to walk from train station to his place (but without directional guidance) So I thought its easy with google map which I have been using without any problem. But I had been wondering around for an hour and finally had to get a cab to reach his place. And when I tried to find his backyard according to his instruction in order to get in, the fence was too tall and the garden door was closed. There's no sign at his back door. And the front door listed all tenants' names but without his. So it's really hard to recognize if its his place. I called Jacob in Nepal but no answer as it's late nite there. Since its getting dark so I took the risk of breaking into a wrong house to open the garden door. Fortunately I got it right. The next frustration was when I got in, the bed was a mess and it seemed the place was not cleaned and prepared. I slept on the couch that night and the next day what Jacob's response on this was that he trusted his cleaning lady who said she did clean the place. So he's more worried about someone might break into his place. He asked someone to check the lock. But the place was never been cleaned during my stay. Due to such unpleasant treatment, I eventually moved out earlier from this apt in the middle of my trip. I have to say that its the worst experience that Ive ever had with airbnb host. So I would NOT recommend this place to you. But if you still would like to stay, here's some input that may better manage your expectation: 1) "it takes 5-8 mins to walk from train station" but only applies if u knew the short cut and walk fast. There are big roads and slow traffic lights in between so the proper walk would take 15-20 mins at least. And 30mins if u r with big luggage. 2) there's no restaurant nearby and the closest supermarket near train station also takes 15-20 mins. There's big wind and rain when I was there so it's really difficult to walk there. 3) In Jacob's instruction, bus 10 is within walking distance (again, there's no info or map showing how to get there). I couldnt find it and sent my enquiries to him. However, there's no response from him at all. In fact, the closest bus stop to downtown should be bus no.14 and 30 which are just outside his apt. I got this info from the other resident. 4) the wifi didn't work well as admitted by the host. In conclusion, the host just...
The host prepared me with great directions sent as an attachment in email. It was very welcoming and I felt taken care of. Responses to my emails were always immediate and kind.
The neighbor is right next to the water. I took daily walks early in the morning around the water passing house boats, parks, people at their picnics- startling beautiful landscape. The neighbor was safe and a short walk to the train- 10 minutes later I was in the middle of central Copenhagen.
No nearby shopping though, and with such a nice kitchen and outdoor dining, I would have loved to cook. However, I ate my meals outside anyway.
Good host. Although he wasn't present in Copenhagen at the time, e responded quick to our request and provided the necessary info.
His place has a great vibe and it is fairly easy to reach downtown in ten minutes via bus or metro.
Worry free rental.
Jacob's apartment is amazing. I just feel like going home. It is very comfortable and the apartment is equipped with all the basics. He is so helpful in providing information and it is not a problem at all for me to find his apartment even though is my first time in CPH and travel alone somemore. A comfortable and great place to stay. Thanks Jacob.
I stayed in the apartment for 2 months while working in Copenhagen end of autum/start of winter. It is in quite good condition but could do with some better lighting during the darker months. The apartment is warm and the internet works fine, however I didn't find the location to very convenient for where I was working in Ørestad. There isn't too much around Sydhavn, so you need head into town for restaurants/pubs/night life. If you are planning to cook in the apartment, the nearest grocery store is about an 8minute walk. There is no microwave or toaster.
We had a great time staying at Jacob's in Copenhagen! The flat is amazing, so tastefully decorated, modern, clean and with great views. Although it is not in the centre, the bus stop is right next to it and it was really getting to the centre and the conference.
I absolutely loved the BO music player, so much so that I bought one fro myself!
The flat was actually so nice that we felt sad leaving it to go for sightseeing!
The flat was well situated for s station Sydhaven and the supermarket. It was easy to get to the city centre. Jacob , the host, was very flexible with the checkin time and check out time. He was very prompt with replying to my emails. The apartment was roomy, airy and warm.We hope to use his apartment again and will recommend it to our friends. Quiet area.
