Great "jungle" feeling, unique location so close to the tide pools. Jeannie helped us with information about places to visit - I agree with all the other comments. I can totally recommend Jeannieˋs Jungle Paradise.
We've been home less than a week but we are already homesick for Jeannie's beautiful home. A taxi driver told us not to go to the Eastern side of the island, but we're so glad we didn't listen because we were able to meet Jeannie and stay in this beautiful room. The grounds are gorgeous and steps to the tide pools, and only a short drive to the sweet town of Pahoa, Kehana black sand beach, and more. Wireless was great and we had complimentary breakfast and tea. What's best about this place is the host and the subtle ways she makes you feel right at home. Very comfortable and relaxing. We had a great time and hope to return!
Jeannie was a great host, providing some fresh fruit on some morning, great conversations many times, and a comfortable shared home. The locations by the tidepools is excellent if you're interested in snorkeling there or enjoying the scenery. A nice quiet neighborhood. I took trips to VNP and the lighthouse; the nearby market is good, too.
Jeannie is the best. She immediately welcome us with the brightness of her smile and since then we become a one-thing with her and her place. it was very inspiring and incredibly funny to spent time with Jeannie. the atmosphere at her place is very colorful and exciting also thanks to her fantastic smoothies and cakes. the room is spacious and very comfortable and the all place is extremely clean. the tropical nature surrounding it is just astonishing and the ocean (with its tide polls) just couple of hundreds meters away is beautiful. the position where the place is located is perfect to visit the east coast of Big Islands. we will definitely will come back with our future kids.
Thanks Jeannie, our friend and guide
You absolutely have to meet Jeannie! Her warm welcome made us feel at home. Her place is amazing and will exceed your expectations based on the description and pictures. It is comfortable and colorful! It is the place to be if you want to go snorkeling and relax.
We had a great 3 nights stay there.
Jeannie is a great host, takes care of us and we had fascinating discussions. The room and shared bathroom and kitchen are in accordance with the description and it's a very beautiful all in wood house.
Jeannie was INCREDIBLE! We drove in from Kona to her home and she had already stated in constant contact with us and gave us information as to where the good places to stop along the way! Once we arrived you'd think we were family showing up, we were created with arms open wide in an amazingly beautiful home! It's location was perfect, there were tide pools within walking distance from the house with the clearest water that's being heated by lava pools! She has a map inside her house that you can look at and find where to go! Unfortunately we cut our stay short due to friends unexpectedly flying I to Kona, however if and when we visit again we will most certainly be staying with Jeannie in her beautiful home!
