You absolutely have to meet Jeannie! Her warm welcome made us feel at home. Her place is amazing and will exceed your expectations based on the description and pictures. It is comfortable and colorful! It is the place to be if you want to go snorkeling and relax.
Jeannie was INCREDIBLE! We drove in from Kona to her home and she had already stated in constant contact with us and gave us information as to where the good places to stop along the way! Once we arrived you'd think we were family showing up, we were created with arms open wide in an amazingly beautiful home! It's location was perfect, there were tide pools within walking distance from the house with the clearest water that's being heated by lava pools! She has a map inside her house that you can look at and find where to go! Unfortunately we cut our stay short due to friends unexpectedly flying I to Kona, however if and when we visit again we will most certainly be staying with Jeannie in her beautiful home!
Wonderful experience! Jeannie was a great host. We loved chatting with her and getting recommendations from her on where to go on the island. The house was also great! She has a few simple rules about not eating in the rooms, etc. but we always ate on the lanai which was very relaxing. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We were so glad we chose to book this place. There is also tide pools that you could walk to where we seriously had one of the best snorkeling experiences ever. We were visiting from Oahu so that says a lot! The water was crystal clear and Jeannie mapped out the directions very easily. There is also Ahalanui Park in the area where my husband and I swam in the hot pond. It was like a giant hot tub sort of thing! It was AWESOME and very relaxing!
Jeannie- is truly a remarkable host. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and her suggestions are so well detailed you can easily navigate the island via Jeannie's description. Jeannie's establishment is paradise- if you don't mind a few bugs here and there, you will LOVE her wraparound porch surrounded by wildlife. You feel as if you are in the heart of a tropical jungle. Jeannie is next to amazing tide pools, perfect for snorkeling. She is in the center of Pahoa- a truly lovely town in between Hilo and the Volcano. Perfect for traveling on our favorite side of the island! Jeannie made Papaya boats for us every morning- you can tell she takes great pride in making you feel at home. She has snorkel gear ready if you need to borrow- and a full kitchen for you to cook in. Jeannie is eco-concious and composts on site. We would happily stay with Jeannie again!
From the outstanding directions to dancing to the Clash, we couldn't have asked for more from Jeannie! Leave your worries behind and experience the Aloha of a true islander. What a great experience!
