The Space

Charming apartment in an old converted mill, Large double room for one or a couple. The building is beautiful, has loads of character.

Very easy to get to from the airport, Aircoach leaves right outside Dublin airport terminal 1 & 2 and the Aircoach bus stop is a 2 min walk from us. Train / Dart station is just over a 5 min walk.

Located very close to DART (train) & buses. Full use of kitchen. Ideal for walkers Wicklow Way on the doorstep, known as the Garden of Ireland.
Very comfortable & homely apartment. Make yourself at home.

Flat interests include running, cycling, photography, art, films. The apartment has Wifi, UPC cable TV, mod cons

The location is great, quiet and peaceful but everything is very close by. There is plenty of parking available. The bus stop (45a, 45, 84, bus to Luas), Superquinn, Aircoach, Merrill Leisure Club, Asian Supermarket are around a minute walk away.

Bray is a close bus / drive away from the beautiful Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, Powerscourt, Johnny Foxes and a 30 mins train ride into Dublin City centre.

Bray is nestled between at the South end of beautiful Killiney Bay, the apartment is only a few mins walk to the beach.

The DART station and the seafront are around a 7 minute walk away. There are a couple of supermarkets within a couple of minutes walk away and many restaurants and bars within a 5 mins walk.

I am well-travelled and always interested in meeting people from other countries. I am also very happy to advise on travel, cultural and entertainment options

Any questions then please feel free to drop me a line. Thanks :)

  • I shouldn't advertise this place too much, it will never be free anymore ;-) My second stay and it was even better that the first one. If you're coming near Bray, you really should stay there, amazing airbnb experience

  • Gary was the kindest host I could have dreamt of! Not satisfied that he provides a nice, neat and tidy room, he also offered me some delicious homemade Irish stew, leaded me to the top of Bray Head, after what we had some pints at his favourite pub (voted world's best by Lonely Planet) to recover. The day after, we had a run across breathtaking landscapes. Gary, I wish you a great time at Dublin Marathon; you're welcome in Brussels whenever you want!

  • I wanted to stay outside Dublin and yet have easy access to the city and airport. This was a splendid choice. Bray is really quite pretty, especially in the off season. Lovely walks and views to the sea, great food -- perfect for my last day in Ireland. The unit itself is very clean as is the shared bathroom and the building itself is well (website hidden) of all, the host, Gary, is beyond helpful. He spent a good bit of time with me going over maps, directions, ideas for things to see and do and places to eat. And when I worried about finding my way to the airport (I had a super early flight which I did not want to miss!), he patiently printed out maps and routes to show me exactly where to go. He was generous with his time, encouraged me to have snacks or a glass of wine -- in sum -- you could not have a more wonderful host. I'm enormously grateful for all his help! Again, this (email hidden) to stay if you want to meet some truly special people and have a clean and lovely corner of your own to park for a night or two or three.

  • I had such a great (even if short) time. First, Bray is a very nice town, close to Dublin and the appartment is great, easy to reach by train, bus or aircoach from Dublin airport.
The room is big, there's drawers for you and the bed is good. But the reason you really should stay there is that you'll feel like staying with friends. Gary will do everything to make you feel comfortable and Alessandra is really nice too. Gary dropped me to the bus stop to Glendalough, cooked creative spaghetti bolognese ( ;-) )and took me to a pub to listen traditionnal iris music.
It was a great experience and I can only hope to have the chance to stay there another time in the future. Thanks Gary and Alessandra

  • I had a great time during my stay in Gary’s apartment! It is modern and easy accessible with public transport. I went to Glendalough, Sally Gap, Dun Laoghaire and made the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones. You can go out with Gary to his favourite pub or just enjoy a nice evening at home with his wide DVD choice. Thanks to Alessandra for driving me around the coast, our sporty trip to Bray Head and the delicious self-made pasta!

  • I really enjoyed my stay here ! Gary is the most friendly, generous and helpful host, attentive to his guests comfort and needs. The apartment is cosy and very clean, the bedroom comfortable - the bed is perfect. Bray is a lovely little city from which you have direct access to wonderful cliffs, but also fast connexion to Dublin (30 mns, frequent trains, just 3€). Anyway you have the most fantastic pubs and good restaurants directly here !

I have only just joined AirBNB and I look forward to hosting people from all over the planet. I'm a fun loving creative guy who is a very easygoing. I have recently moved back to Ireland after many years living abroad in London, Sydney and Asia. Travelling is a passion, South East Asia is probably a favourite but I have travelled across Australia, NZ, Indonesia, Europe and ended up living with Buddhist monks for a while outside Bangkok, loads of stories along the way! Love running, cycling , painting, the odd pint of Guinness, music, playing a little bit of guitar and generally keeping in shape. There are plenty or great routes in the area for walking, running and cycling. Thai green curry is my speciality, happy for you to sample my cooking if you're here for a couple of days. I can help you out with advice on great places to go whether pubs, restaurants or activities such as running, cycling, kayaking surfing etc. My flatmate Alessandra is Italian, she's funny, makes a mean coffee, she's a bit of a legend!
