Cool, comfortable seaside pad (bnk)

Apartment - Private room · Ann St, Williamstown, VIC 3016, Australia

My cool and comfortable three bedroom apartment in amazing Williamstown has a very relaxed holiday vibe. This room has a bunk bed and is freshly renovated, light and bright. Very close to parks, transport, the water, cafes, bars and restaurants!

The Space

Your room has a bunk bed (two single beds). You will have your own built-in wardrobe and privacy lockable door and a nice view onto the front garden.

Guest Access

Included with your booking is free, high-speed wi-fi internet and access to washing machine, dryer, tv, kitchen, books, games, music, fridge, dart board, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. I also have a printer/scanner and am happy to print travel documents, boarding passes etc for you on request.

A bicycle is also usually available for short trips around Williamstown and going to the shops.

Tea, coffee and basic breakfast supplies are included as well as all bedding and fresh towels.

Interaction with Guests

The apartment has three bedrooms, one has a bunk bed (this room), one is a double (separately listed) and the third room is mine. There is one bathroom, a kitchen and lounge room which you will share. I'm Duncan, an Aussie guy in my 30's born and bred in Melbourne but a traveller at heart. I aim to put my guests at ease from the get go and will do whatever I can to make your stay as good as possible - whether that means having a chat, watching movie, or just staying out of your way and giving you space to do your own thing and relax. I have a Monday to Friday job so I'm normally only around morning and evenings during the working week so the apartment is usually pretty quiet during the week.

The Neighborhood

Williamstown is a great place to stay. It's quiet, unpretentious, friendly and layed back and has a thriving and lively cafe culture and a great variety of good restaurants, bars and pubs. There is a lot of great history and interesting architecture, beautiful parks and lots of bicycle and walking tracks.

Getting around

Williamstown train station is very close, only 200 metres away with a travel time to Southern Cross station (city) of 24 minutes, with departures roughly every 20 minutes. There are many cafes and restaurants on Nelson Place about 500 metres away, and the closest pub, the Stag's Head, is literally across the road. The closest supermarket/grocery store is 1.5 kilometres, Gem Pier is 600 metres away and Williamstown beach and the botantical gardens are about 1.5 kiometres away.

Other Things to Note

Please message me before booking to confirm availability. If there is anything you would like access to which I haven't mentioned please ask and I will try to help if I can. If you would like an early check-in (before 5pm) or late check-out (after 12pm) we are usually happy to try to accommodate you at no additional cost provided it doesn't overlap with another existing booking.

  • Duncan was a great host. Although we didn't get to interact with him much, he was always very nice when we did talk to him and very willing to let us use anything in his house. His place was in a nice quite neighborhood, within a minute walk from the train station, and it was really relaxing for us to be in a quite place after traveling for quite a long time. Plus he has a roku at his place so he has all sorts of movies and tv shows to watch which was great. We would highly recommend staying with him if you get the chance :)

  • Duncan made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, offering us a lot of info about the surrounding area and what to do in Melbourne. We felt so comfortable that we ended up staying much longer than expected, thanks to Duncan's easy going personality. The flat is very close to the train station and relatively close to the centre of Williamstown and Williamstown beach. Would recommend

  • Duncans apartment was a great place to stay. Duncan and his roommate was very friendly and we had some good talks. He took me to the local bar for dinner one night. Room was clean and comfy. Williamstown is a very good location with the beach nearby. It is easy to come to the city with train from the train station that is only 5 minutes walk away.

  • Duncan was very responsive and helpful. He did his best to make sure that we could find his place and get to where we wanted to go.

His place was clean and quiet. The kitchen was in good order.

The train station is very close, one or two minutes walk away. Once on the train, you can easily get to any part of Melbourne.

There is a food market about 15 minutes walk away.

We took public transport from the airport to get to his place. It was much cheaper than skybus or taxi, but the trip took well over an hour. (Directions are: From the airport, buy a myki card, take bus 901 to train station Broadmeadows. Take the train to North Melbourne. Take another train to Williamstown. Duncan's apartment is a two minute walk from there.)

We enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again. We would recommend Duncan's place to others.

  • A great location to spend some days or more in (or around) Melbourne. The place ist in a nice suburb, very close to the train station ( approx 25 min to Melbourne city) and close to some very nice Pubs and Cafes and the tiny Willliamstown Beach.
I had a very very warm welcome and felt pretty much like at home with Duncan and Nick being awsome hosts!!!!!! I recommend this place to everyone if you want to have a great time in Williamstown......

  • Where shall we start? Me and my friend Katrin went to Autralia to do Working Holiday and Duncan's place was our first home.
The house is located in Williamstown, which is a really pretty suburb. It's close to the sea and to some cute shops, bars and cafes and also close to the trainstation, which makes it easy to go and visit the central of melbourne in a short time.
The house is clean and you'll find everything you need.
And Duncan! We hardly met another person so friendly, so helpful and so sympathetic. He fetched us from the airport and kind of saved us by fetching us as our car got stuck on the road once. We had many good laughs together. He made us feel like home and we actually didn't want to leave again! But well, the sense of working holiday is to travel ;) And his housemate Nick is surely just as kind as Duncan.
So, if you want to have a gret time around Melbourne, go to Duncan's place!

  • Duncan and Nick are very welcoming, friendly and helpful people with lots of suggestions of things to do both in Williamstown and in the city. The house is close to the train station and just a short ride on the train away from the city. Also there is a wonderful beach very close by and the shops are in walking distance.
Moreover the house is very clean and homey and the beds are very comfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay with these two guys, although the weather wasn't too good, and would recommend this place to everybody!

  • Duncan has been a wonderful host for us! He is such a welcoming person that it has been no problem for us to feel like home in his house.
Our room was clean and we had wonderful and comfy beddings which were supposed to be for his nephews but we were very happy that we got them. :)
Nick, the other guy who is living in this house is very funny and helpfull, too.
The area is pretty nice, calm and the beach and the train station are very close to the house.
When we couldn't find a flat in Melbourne he gave us the opportunity to extend our stay even if two other girls had booked his room as well.
He just moved into the living room and we could sleep in his room.
It was the best start in Melbourne that we could imagine!
We can really recommend this place to everyone who wants to stay in Melbourne and wants to meet two great guys!

  • How do I tell you guys everthing in short? Lets put it this way!
If you want a nice area with a beach nearby go to Duncan's home. Williamstown is such a nice suburb and you get pretty fast to the city by train.
If you want to meet really nice people and make new friends you should also go for Duncan. He showed us the Melbourne way of celebrating AFL and BBQ. Not to forget the really nice evening at the pub nearby with live music. We even had the honor of driniking the Queen's tea :-)
The room Duncan provided for us was really clean and nice. The possibility to use their bikes is a must-do to get in touch with Williamstown. And he has a lot of tourist guides including NSW so you can plan your trip. To put it in a nutshell if you want a nice and friendly host in a holiday like area near a train station and near the beach Duncan should be your favorite choice. Cheers!

About
Hi I'm Duncan, a 36yo Australian guy born and bred in Melbourne. I've done plenty of travelling myself over the years both in Australia and overseas and I really enjoy the hosting experience. Though I do have a full time job, when I'm around I am always happy to give you some tour guide tips on Melbourne and share a drink and a story at home or across the road at the pub.
