Our beautiful island home is a tastefully renovated two-storey cottage, with amazing sea views, open fireplaces, a spacious garden with outdoor decking and a seasonal coffee shop,located on one of Ireland's loveliest offshore islands - Clare Island.
These are the rooms we have to offer:
The Loft Room is located up under the eaves of the old cottage. It has a double bed and en suite toilet/shower. BUT this room is accessed via very steep stairs and is not suitable for those with mobility problems.
Elsa's Room has a single bed and wash hand basin and is located on the ground floor with bathroom along the corridor.
Erik's Room has a double bed and wash hand basin and is located on the ground floor with bathroom along the corridor.
Please note that our listing only allows for one room to be booked though 3 may be available. So do contact us if you would like more than one bedroom.
A light breakfast is included - fruit juice, cereal, bread, cheese, fresh eggs from our own hens and tea or coffee. This will be served in the old kitchen/dining room. Guests will have all day access to a comfortable room, wifi and tea making facilities..
When our Coffee Shop is open (Fri, Sat, Sun) we served delicious homemade soups, scones, panini and cakes. Evening meals are available in the Sailor's Bar and the Community Centre, both c.1 mile away.
Interaction with Guests
The old part of the house hosts Anna's Coffee Shop from June to the end of August. Here you will be offered an unforgettable Irish-Swedish welcome, with full island hospitality guaranteed. Our house is a wonderful escape from the busy pace of the "real" world. Although it has all the comforts and conveniences of a modern home, its extraordinary location makes it something really special. Clare Island (population 170) is a magical place, with incomparable natural beauty, friendly locals and a fascinating history. It's an ideal place for a romantic getaway, or a relaxing and safe family break, with a beautiful sandy beach within walking distance. Great for fishing, boating, watersports, hiking or simply relaxing.
The island is accessed by passenger ferry from Roonagh Pier near Louisburgh. To check ferry sailings see (website hidden). Bicycles can be hired on the island and there is also an island taxi. For up-to-date details see
Westport is the nearest train and bus station and Knock is the nearest airport.
