Located only 5 min. from the Old City, in the shade of the mesmerizing 10th century walls, apartments are in a very good location. On the ground floor and have access to a furnished terrace. The classic style and vintage items are present all over, from old paintings, medieval furniture or the modern chandelier. The price are very reasonable, because only on the second floor at the same house the apartments are 200 Euros. The house is surrounded by greenery, peacefully here you can relax.

The space
Sometimes simple, vintage but elegant things can make you feel more relaxed and comfortable than some sophisticated and modern items. Simplicity may imply elegance, practical use of things and beauty. Vintage pieces can remind you of the charm of some old times, may offer you a higher quality and inspire you more refinement. The classic style and vintage items are present all over the apartments from old paintings that hang on the walls to some royal- like chairs or the chandelier. Most of these items in dark nuances seem to contrast the Venetian-style int he hall. Still there are also some modern items which complete this vintage apartment in a harmonious way. Your stay in my home in general can not remain apart to this trend and not get caught by taste ans style that evokes our recent past of Dubrovnik Republic. This private accommodation features with KING SIZE BED double bed room - (200x190), modern kitchen, small living room with sofa, bathroom with shower bath and shared terrace. Equipped with air-condition, SatTv, DVD, WiFi is 2-4 megabits per second. Kitchen is equipped with: micro-oven, fridge, gas stove, coffe machine and with coffee, tea salt, sugar, pepper, oil...

Guest access
Before entering in the apartments I'll give you the keys, and usually I keep short briefing to the guests; about shortcuts towards Old Town, closest beaches, markets, bakery, bus stop to the airport which is very close to my home, there is good car rental -
DISCOVERY CAR RENTAL very close to my home, also the sky-car, and most interesting hidden spot in the city...

Other things to note
DIRECTION:
Hello,

Thank you for your booking at Stella Jadre Apartments; my address is ZA KAPELICOM no. 16., behind the small chapel on Zagreb Road. There are five Stella’s apartments in Dubrovnik please check the address!
DEPENDING FROM WHICH DIRECTION YOU ARE COMING READ ONE OF THE FOLLOWING DIRECTION:

**** If you are coming from the AIRPORT with regular AIRPORT SHUTTLE BUS - tickets bus price is 5 Euro’s, or TAXI around 33 Euro’s. SHUTTLE BUS WILL STOPS ON PLOČE GATE, or in front cable car base, or PILE GATE in front on of Old Town, or MAIN BUS STATION IN GRUŽ. Sorry, depends on the traffic jams in the city. The trip duration is 30 to 40 minutes. From PLOČE GATE you have 10 minutes walking up to Zagreb road, i.e. Kapelica ( small church), avoiding the stairs from Pile gate. Or, once you get off the bus on the PILE GATE, you will see the Hilton Hotel front-on, than walk towards the Gate, but do not enter in the Old Town. Turn on the left and you will see the parking place and the stairs (along palm's trees) street is: Uz Posat. If you would like to avoid the stairs, you can take the option coming to the small church; and take the street we call Iza Grada - Behind the walls and come up. (see the photos). If you are coming from Main bus station in Gruž take the bus no. 8 until Kapelica bus stop, please ask driver. Maybe you can take the taxi - 10 Euro’s if you have heavy suitcases and tell exactly the name of the street to taxi driver or to call me (+38598427969).

*** If you are coming from: SPLIT – KORCULA - HVAR or ITALY - by bus, boat or catamaran, you will arrive at the Main bus station and Ferry terminal in the same place - city part Gruz, which is about 2 km from the Old Town center. The distance between Split and Dubrovnik is about 215 km following the coastal road. The travel time vary from 4 to about 6 hours depending on travel route, the fastest buses goes via the highway.
The bus will pass trough Bosnia & Herzegovina by Neum, so remember to bring valid passport. Bus travel tips: The view along the Dalmatian cost is amazing so be sure to get a seat in the right site of the bus. As the route between Split and Dubrovnik is quite popular during summer month it is advisable to buy your ticket several hours or even a day before the departure. You can do it online; you can choose between Croatia bus and Autotrans, but also among other bus companies that ply on Dubrovnik - Split - Dubrovnik route and you will be satisfied, and the buses run frequently. From Gruz there are city buses to the Old Town. BUT it is better to come directly from the harbor or Main bus station with bus no. 8 - KAPELICA no. 16 . Please, ask bus driver and he will stop in front of my house on Zagreb road – i.e. the small chaple on the road.

**If you are driving by car from DIRECTION SPLIT – You have 214 kilometers distance to Dubrovnik; than enjoy the 114 km drive on hihgway to PLOČE. Once there, it is a short drive to NEUM CORRIDOR, territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and outside the EU – short border crossing and control! Approching Dubrovnik and passing Dubrovnik bridge, drive toward OLD TOWN - CENTER. After passing traffic lights proceed driving towards Center and stop at the Public garage and you can leave the car there.Maybe you visit the Public garage website, and check the parking fees! Or come down on Zagreb road until small chapel and first sight of Old Town, stop there for few minutes until you reach me. Parking around the Old Town is mainly for residence. The Parking Lot at Gruž Harbour, located in close proximity to the place where the boats land is good and with reasonable prices.

STAIRS:
The majority of the steps are either on the northern and southern parts even in the Old Town town; but there are other routes which are often hidden and guests seem to miss out on seeing many areas of the Old Town which are interesting! Once you're above the Old Town in front my house, I shall show you a shortcut to avoiding the steps. This neighborhood is quiet, and you need only 5 minutes walking down the road you are in the center; and very close to the apartment is a bakery, mini and super market, Public garage!
Old Town is very nice if you like to book the apartment inside the walls, but it can be noise and crowded. The market sets up 5am/5.30 a.m. and bells ring in the church a 6 a.m., so if you are a light sleeper this will cause you some problems including late at night the music from coffee shops(URL HIDDEN) Maybe, if you text me (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) on your arrival so I could come on the ZAGREB ROAD and meet you ...! Or ask taxi driver to call me (and drive you to KAPELICA -CHAPEL no.16), and please, be aware of peoples or even taxi drivers who might offer you some other accommodations or Stella apartments for lowers price but questionable quality, or take you to other accommodation.

PAYMENT: Kuna’s or Euro’s…sorry but only cash - official exchange rate at the BANKS. If you have booked the apartments through Hostel they charge only for the commission-deposit,so the rest of the amount should be paid to the owner. If you booked with Airbnb – payout via Bank Transfer is fine; so do not worry.

I was born in Dubrovnik, married, mother of two grown up children and grandmommy of four. I'm writing and published five novels! I like to hang out with friends from the youth - former members of the folk ensemble LINĐO …I am often going on island Lokrum with my family, like many residents of the city and we love this island; calling him as our garden city! Esteemed guests. As far as the stairs are concerned, I've described everything on my profile, but I still keep a short briefing in front of the house with my guests, informing them of everything, and always show them a shortened way to avoid the stairs. See you.. (Website hidden by Airbnb)
