This is not just lodging, it’s an adventure into a delightfully different culture. We felt as if we went home to a must-see destination each night. Floating homes are one of Seattle’s unique specialties (think of the movie Sleepless in Seattle, filmed nearby). It’s a delight to descend the “hidden” stairway and walk the docks past such a variety of boats, yachts, and houses built on barges. The atmosphere is close-knit small community, yet it’s so close to all the urban attractions. All manner of personal transportation parades by, safely off the avenue on the bike paths, between the parking lot and the pedestrian sidewalk. There are bicycles of every variety, hover boards, skateboards, and the unusual solowheels. There are many great restaurants within a few blocks, including the adjacent upscale, yet reasonable, China Harbor with excellent Chinese fare. Nearby Pasta Fresca provides a totally unique, authentic Italian, multi-course experience if you have a couple hours. The Pure Vida houseboat is tight and cozy, yet has ample storage and several separate areas for relaxation. There’s a coffee maker and roof-top gas barbecue for guest use. City water is piped in directly. This boat is permanently docked—owners and guests do not move it. There are rentals just up the street for a variety of moving watercraft. Rose and Glen are eager to please and were quick to iron out one detail with the booking. We look forward to staying aboard their Pura Vida whenever we can.

La Pura Vida was a fantastic spot to enjoy the beauty of Seattle! The boat was cozy, charming & well-equipped. The roof deck with gas grill, umbrella table & fabulous views of the marina and Lake Union Was a real bonus!sit was a thoroughly delightful experience! After dark the lights were gorgeous, too. The boat is perfect for one or two people. I loved my stay there& would do it again anytime. Glen & rose were friendly and helpful hosts.

The house boat was so much fun. Everything was as advertised. Hanging out on the top deck watching all the activity on Lake Union was wonderful. Great location. It was so much better than staying in a hotel and half the cost. The upper deck with table, chairs and BBQ was a great place to hang out after sightseeing all day.

James and I had a wonderful time on your houseboat during our 3 day stay in Seattle. It was everything we expected. It was great to be on the water and the views were spectacular.. Glen and Rose were amazing hosts, giving us tips on the area and helping us when needed. We would highly recommend staying on one of their houseboats if you are looking for an exciting and different alternative accommodation while in Seattle. Thanks again.

Pura Vida is a classic Ying and Yang story. A house boat in the peaceful China Harbor Marina. Sunrise greets you at your feet in the morning from your bed with a view of the vessels across the slip on the offshore finger float. Take morning coffee on the aft deck, soak in the tranquility and labors of the early morning Crew workout in Pairs, Quads and 8's. Later in the day taken in the view from the upper deck of the activities on Lake Union; Tuesday night Duck Dodge (sailing races), seaplanes coming and going, paddle boarders, kayaks, every description of pleasure craft and a few commercial vessels as well. China Harbor Restaurant provides an excellent sound block from busy Westlake Avenue. China Harbor Restaurant is also a weekend wedding reception venue. Enjoy the festivities until 11 PM. A mile walk North takes you to Fremont, the 'Center of the Universe, set your watch 5 minutes ahead.' A mile walk to the South brings you to downtown Seattle, the Space Needle, Pikes Market. Don't feel like walking? There were always LimeBike urban bike sharing bicycles and Car2Go cars parked near at hand along Westlake Ave. Pura Vida is a 37' renovated motor houseboat, larger than a Tiny House, or 37' sailboat, smaller than a studio apartment. The space is well thought out and the renovation work is a nicely done mix of marine meets modern meets Ikia. Comfortable. Perfect for one, a relationship builder for two and a crowd at three. The treasure at Pura Vida though are the hosts, Rose and Glen, long time residents of Seattle and well traveled. They will welcome you, show you around, introduce to the wonders of marine sanitation if you are not so versed and give you whatever local guidance you may need. You will part knowing you have made new friends.

Hi
Our names are Glen and Rose Marie we are a retired couple from Seattle. We have a home in Montezuma and have lived the "pura vida" 6 to 7 months in Costa Rica every year since 2007. We also love the north west US and have our home of 28 years in Seattle in the Fremont neighborhood and a duplex in the Ballard neighborhood as well as well as a townhouse in the James Bay neighborhood of Victoria, BC which we just cannot give up so we have turned them into vacation rentals so we can enjoy them when we are around. Since we have vacation rentals you can be assured that we will treat your place with respect and leave it in clean condition.
I love to garden, cook, travel, getting to know interesting people form all over the world, and also enjoying the beauty of the places were we live! Hope you will enjoy our homes as much as we do!
