Is the area safe? How far is it from Manhattan?
The neighborhood Dutch Kills is very safe, only 3 blocks from the N and Q subway station, which is 2 stops from Lexington Ave in midtown Manhattan. Queens and Queensborough Plaza stations (which provide the N, Q, 7, E, M, and R trains) are also a 5 minute walk away. Or if you'd rather drive, walk or bike, the 59th Street bridge is just a few short blocks away.
Is there any parking?
There is one dedicated spot right in front of the house exclusively for our guests. There is also plenty of other overnight parking, you can choose a meter right in front of the house where you pay $.25 per 15 min between Mon-Sat 9am-7pm, or just half a block away you can find free 24/7 parking with street cleaning rules on Thursday and Friday between 8.30-10am.
There is also a parking garage right across the street where you can park for $10 per day.
How do we get there from JFK airport?
Its very easy to get here from JFK, just take the Airtrain to Jamaica station, switch to the E train, take that to Queens Plaza and walk 3 blocks north following 29th Street to the corner of 39th Ave.
Do you accept credit cards?
Airbnb takes care of the whole reservation process and they accept all major credit cards.
How is the neighborhood around the apartment?
This area is called Dutch Kills, a small neighborhood right in between Astoria and Long Island City, two very popular destinations for cafes and restaurants. So the house is within walking distance (as short as 5 minutes) to local restaurants and bars. We also have 3 very famous galleries within walking distance, Fisher Landau Center for Art, Flux Factory and PS1, which is part of the Modern Museum of Art (MoMa). Since this area is so close to Queensboro Bridge, the main transportation hub of Queens, this has traditionally been a place for back businesses supplying Manhattan with bread, truffles, silk, etc. But over the last 10 years, artists have taken over these warehouse spaces and made them into work/live loft studios. It’s a very interesting area and I think you will be very pleased.
We are very easy going and we leave the interaction up to you. We like to make ourselves available but we have found that most New York visitors have very specific interests and reasons for coming to the greatest city in the world and we want to give you the freedom to explore and make this city your own.

The house was great and had a lot of space. It was close to the subway and it was easy to get to around. There was a parking space in the back. On the day we were leaving it was blocked. Steffan was able to help with the situation and it was sorted quickly.

A house this large with such a big kitchen and cute yard is a unique find in NYC. The kitchen was our main focus and it was really great! We'd definitely use the space again.
Wow! What can I say about this Place! It was perfect! Great location! 10 minutes from LGA! Subway station was just a few blocks down, great for us, since we spent most of our time in Manhattan. The place was clean and fully stocked. Plenty of beds air mattress for us to sleep together or separate! I would definitely book this place again for a big group! And last but not least, Steffan was a pleasure to work with! We are all happy with our stay! Home away from home!
Nice cosy and big enough was this apartment for seven persons. Quite quiet neighbourhood, thoug some sounds from the street and subway. Station in 200 meters and then only couple stopovers and you are in Lexinton av.
The apartment was a bit chilly but the reason was the weather. We had somewhat warm upstairs and chilly downstairs. We are from Finland so we are used to winter. So we managed of course , did not feel too cold and liked a lot about the apartment. Thanks a lot!
Although I am from NYC, I was staying with a group of friends from all over the East Coast for an annual event this past weekend. Steffan was a gracious host and really accommodated our arrival time/date. The house was open, airy, and very clean. Our whole group had an incredible time and we will definitely consider staying at one of Steffan's properties for the event next year - if not the same one. We especially appreciated the Master Lock on the door that had a key inside of it, so we did not all have to come back at the same time. Beautiful home for a great price - also super close to Manhattan.
Thank you again, Steffan!
Together with colleagues we had a great stay in the house. It is very much like the pictures. Spacious, clean and well equipped. The amazing Dutch Kills Restaurant and Bar is just a few meters away and the house is within walking distance to MoMA PS1 and there are great metro communications to the city all around. Beds were comfortable and big and even air mattresses were spacious. Over all, a very good experience that I can recommend to anyone and especially for larger companies.
I have so many fabulous things to say about Steffan and about this house but let me give my short review in case you don't have time to read the full review …If you ever have the chance to stay in one of Steffan's properties, do it and have no hesitation at all about it. He's a gem! Pure and simple! Sweet, kind, accommodating, generous! And the house we stayed in was gorgeous - clean, modern, spacious, safe, convenient - everything we could have hoped for!
Now for the details if you'd like more info...My performance troupe of 8 stayed for 3 weeks in Steffan's beautiful house in Queens and we had a fabulous time! Steffan is such a wonderful man and a gracious host! He provided us with everything we needed, including many air mattresses because our group is not made up of many couples - he ran right out to the store and got them for us the first night.
The house itself was super convenient to the theater where we were performing in Manhattan - only 2 subway stops and a couple of blocks of walking. Also, there's a wonderful restaurant right across the street from the house - it's called Dutch Kills Centraal and it became our local hang-out. The open plan of the first floor of the house was just right for such a large group and the huge kitchen was perfect for cooking Christmas dinner…which we did do! The upstairs had plenty of space for all 8 of us and the house itself was large enough so that while some of us liked to stay up late downstairs the rest of us could rest upstairs. Really the perfect place for us!
But even more than the space we all just adore Steffan! He made us feel so at home and was calling us "Neighbor" by the time we left. He even brought a gaggle of his friends to our show! I can't say enough about Steffan or this house. If I could give 10 stars instead of 5, I would! In Steffan, we found not only a fantastic host but a new friend!
