Awesome private room with a king-sized bed is the best location in downtown Austin. 2nd floor of historic Railyard condo. Across the street from the Convention Center and as close to the 6th St. night life as anyone would want to be!
Located in the heart of downtown, this 2nd story room could not be in a better spot in Austin. The private room and house are always kept very clean (see reviews and photos). It's a perfect cozy nook for explore all that Austin has to offer.
This is a shared condo. There is a separate Airbnb listing for an adjacent room with two twin beds. The rooms share the private bathroom. One room or the other or both can be rented out to a single party. If no one else is renting during your stay the bathroom and more or less half the apartment is all yours. You can check the calendar on the other listing to see if anyone is scheduled at the same time.
Washer/dryer, wet bar, high-speed internet, water cooler. Very clean, safe, and well kept. Ideal for couples, families, friends or an individual, the layout and rooms are flexible and accommodating.
Close to just about everything great about Austin. 6th St, the Capitol, the Convention Center, Congress bridge, Rainy Street and the East side. It's right in the middle of everything that's happening in Austin, but with curtains and double-pane windows for when you want to go to sleep.
Starbucks is across the street! Courtyard Great transportation options are available right outside the door, including the CapMetro Airport Flyer bus, Metro Rail and cabs from the hotels across the street. Ubers, Lyfts and pedicabs are everywhere as well.
The host of this unit is a rather pleasant 30 year old multimedia journalist for a local news website. He is quiet, thoughtful and has his own master bedroom and bathroom on the other side of the condo. He has been living and working in Austin since 2006 and is full of ideas of things to do in town, should you ask him. If you'd prefer to keep to yourself you'll hardly see him.
The unit can be rented out entirely for special weekends (SXSW, ACL, UT games, and Formula One, etc). Please see the separate posting for this unit also on Air BnB, and if you're interested in renting the entire unit on a weekend that is not listed, please inquire, it may be available.
It's a beautiful place to stay and couldn't be in a better location in Austin. You will love it! As a disclaimer, your hotel tax of %15 and all overhead with exception of the cleaning fee is included in your rate.
Interaction with Guests
I'm usually at work or out with my friends or girlfriend. Sometimes I'll be around in the living room or cooking dinner, but often I'm in my own room at night. I'm happy to provide you with advice on Austin dining and activities. I've lived in Austin for a while now and can provide you with some good suggestions.
This truly is in the middle of everything going on downtown. People often stay with me to go to the Convention Center for conferences but are surprised to lean it's literally across the street. Nightlife is probably number two for people visiting and you are perfectly situated for that from my place.
Buses leave from across the street (including easy transportation to and from the airport). There's also a MetroRail, taxis from the Marriott across the street and usually pedicabs. I find a car is not usually necessary for my guests.
The tenant here is very easy going and doesn't have a lot of "house rules." Just be polite and respectful and you'll be fine. The building does have pretty strict sound restrictions though. If you make too much noise during late hours in the building, someone will complain and it comes with a hefty fine, $250 (part of your deposit).
Todd was great! I had an emergency and needed a place to stay Austin and he accommodated me at the last minute. He was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend staying with him.
The apartment was easy to find, easy entry, exactly as described by Todd.
My room was good, living room and kitchen comfy.
Very clean room and well kept apartment. Todd was helpful in recommending restaurants and nearby attractions. As other reviewers noted, he wasn't all the time, which allowed me to sit on the couch or use the dining table.
For other visitors considering one of his two rooms: The two single bed room is slightly bigger than the King sized room, and also has a desk. If I was staying alone again, I'd probably choose this room as I don't mind sleeping on a single bed and can use the extra space.
Had a fantastic stay at Todd's home in Austin. The location was absolutely perfect and the room was in a very private wing of the apartment with it's own bathroom. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to meet Todd until the end of our stay, but he was extremely prompt with messages and it was very easy to settle ourselves into the place. We would definitely stay again!
Very happy with my stay. Was in town for a convention and Todd's place was directly across the street from the convention center. Closer than most hotels. The Austin Visitors Center was about 2 blocks away if you want to book tours. Todd was friendly when we crossed paths, but I was pretty busy with the convention, so we only saw each other twice in 4 days. He gives you your space if you want privacy. The room is on the corner and has two windows out the street. There is a bar across the street. So, people walking on each street could be heard late into the evening. I'm a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me, but Todd provided earplugs if you needed them. The bus from the airport drops off and picks up right in front of the building. I had no problem getting around the city on foot, with Uber, and by bus. There was also a light rail station across the street and a bike rental station next to it if you wanted either of those options. Very pleased with my stay.
Great location, very easy to come and go. Todd is very helpful and relaxed. Exactly what you need, but no frills. Parking in the area can be a bit difficult because it's all pay-for street parking, but free on Sundays and late at night. Highly recommend!
Todd's spot is perfectly located, right next to 6th street, Rainy street and SoCo. Everything is walking distance away. You don't see Todd a lot, but when you do, he's very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this airbnb!

I'm a very friendly and easy-going 31 year old photographer and graphic artist for a local Texas news website. I studied film and English at the University of Southern California and have been living and working in multimedia in Austin since 2006. I am respectful of privacy but open to assisting guests in any way I can should they need it.
