Interaction with Guests
We are two busy guys who aren't around the apartment much, except for the weekends. But when we are home, we're happy to chat with guests and give orientation as needed. We also try to give guests privacy and autonomy while staying.
We do like to keep things nice and tidy which is good for you - the place is always clean and shiny. Of course we appreciate you helping us keep it that way.
When Yarick is around he can offer can offer you conversation and directions in Ukrainian, Russian, German, English and minimal Polish. If it's just me - you're stuck with English and horrible Spanish & Italian.
Just let us know if there's anything at all you need!
The South End is (in our opinion) the most beautiful neighborhood of Boston. The wobbly brick sidewalks and old-growth trees are as historic as it gets in the states. It's now a posh neighborhood with remnants of its gritty past still tucked away.
Easy access to all of Boston off the Orange Line train, and Silver Line and #1 Bus. Others as well, but those are the main ones in the area.
Also just a few blocks away is a Hubway station you can grab a shared bike from. I haven't tried it myself yet.
For an extra fee I can arrange to pick you up or drop you off at the airport, train, or bus station.
Other Things to Note
There's a nice little backyard shared between the 5 units. A nice hideaway to drink coffee in the morning or a nightcap at the end of the day. All the way down the stairs and out the back door that is past the laundry.
No shoes in the apartment, please, it helps us keep the wood floors clean.
Don't make a ruckus in the common spaces when coming and going from the apartment.
No smoking (anything) in the building.
Help yourself to the bar - and speak up if there's anything we can do to help.
Mike and Yarick are very nice people. They like talk to you, but didn't interfere much. The room is very clean and looks exactly like on the photos. The apartment in a very good location close to public transportation, markets, and good restaurants. You can go wherever you want. It's a great experience in Boston. Recommended!
Mike and Yarick were very nice to host us in an "emercy situation". They made sure we had everything we needed with very short notice. The apartment and the room look exactly like on the photos. It is very clean and the location is very convenient, close the subway in a nice neighborhood.
About the Host, Mike & Yarick
We're Mike and Yarick!
Thanks for considering our spare room, we've been hosts for a year now and are loving the experience of sharing our home and meeting interesting travelers. Both of us has lived in Boston for several years now, and we're very happy to call the South End our home. When we aren't hosting we love to travel, and when we're home we're usually trying all the best restaurants and looking for the fun things to do in Beantown.
We're pretty busy guys but we do our best to give our guests recommendations if they need them and will always be available through the airbnb messager if anything come ups or you just want some pointers when you're out.
This place is very close to the apartment and has excellent southern food and a huge beer selection. My favorite thing here is their chop salad - just like Grandma used to make.Tremont St Boston MA 02118
This is Yarick and Mikes favorite spot. Really excellent sushi in a fancy low-lit atmosphere. It also doubles as a wine and imported beer store if you want to get something to go.Washington Street Boston MA 02118
Flour is now a Boston institution. There are a few locations and we are lucky to have one of them just a few blocks away. Excellent pastries and breakfast sandwiches - also good for a lite lunch.Washington Street Boston MA 02118
Yaricks favorite bar. An industry hangout for all the area restaurant crews... so the drinks are strong and good stuff. Also they have pretty good ITALIAN bar food. Kitchen open late.Columbus Avenue Boston MA 02116
Its shops like this that make the South End a great neighborhood. A highly curated mens shop that also sells lots of great locally sourced gifts.Tremont Street Boston MA 02118
Mikes favorite spot in the neighborhood. This gastro-pub serves great cocktails and food. Its popular with the South End locals, sort of a buttoned-up and more hipster version of Cheers.Washington Street Boston MA 02118
