Other Things to Note
Vacation rental is close to Parker Pie Restaurant, Chrystal Lake and Willoughby Lake, and a short drive to Burke Mountain Biking trail system, one of the largest in the country.
Greg's place is small but complete with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and sitting area. There's a great view across the road to Shadow Lake. His place is affordable and a great home base and jumping off point for exploring the beauty and wilds of the North East Kingdom.
The cottage is very enjoyable because of its situation and amenities. The region is great for outdoor vacation and has many nice spots to visit.
This cottage is just a lovely place to stay. The location is so picturesque-we had breakfast on the dock, in such peace and quiet, while watching the leaves change color. Everything we needed was provided, and we even cooked on the outside grill. This was wonderfully cozy for us.
This cottage was perfect for my girlfriend and I for a couple days. It is very small (tiny bedroom, no idea how they fit the bed in there) but the bed is super comfy. All the necessities were provided (pots, pans etc.) And it was exactly what we were looking for.
One critique is that in the pictures it doesn't look like there is anything but grass between the cottage and the lake but there is a road there. It isn't super busy but there were cars traveling and it wasn't expected.
Overall great experience in a beautiful area of Vermont.
Make sure to check out the rope swing hidden on the far side of the lake!

My girlfriend and I spent 5 days/4 nights in Greg's little cottage. As he mentioned in one of his comments below, it is a cabin. As long as you are fine with being in a small rustic space, you will love this place. We had beautiful weather and took full advantage of the lake; both swimming and boating. The cabin also has a gas grill, which we used most of the time we were there. Also; if you get sick of cooking, try the Parker Pie company. They have some of the most innovative and delicious pizza combinations. There are a few grocery type stores within 20-30 minutes of driving, but its good to be prepared. All in all, we can't wait to come back!
We had a lovely time at the cottage. It is small and unfinished but perfect for our needs. There are so few photos on this site I had the wrong impression that the cottage was private and somewhat secluded. When we arrived we were disappointed to learn that the lake is fairly thickly settled and the road in front of the cottage frequently traveled. A neighbor was running a chain saw the first afternoon. We love rural Vermont and were hoping to be on a more secluded lake. Once we got over that disappointment we had a great time swimming, taking the row boat out on the lake, and visiting Bread and Puppet. This is a nice spot but it needs more photos for an accurate representation.
We own 2 houses on the lake, a cottage that sits on the water and a larger
home that is on the hill. Shadow lake is a very pristine mountain lake, very deep in
some sections. A great place to fish, bike, hike, and swim.
