At first glance the neighborhood looks intimidating. Once you get to know what you are actually experiencing it’s a great place. Take a ride up to the fourth floor, walk up an antique staircase and relax on the open air deck while taking in a view of downtown Houston.

In comparing my place to similar offerings you will notice mine is very inexpensive. I enjoy hosting people and making new friendships. I do not do this for a living. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

  • Corman was a great host! He made sure that the place was clean and presentable and even offered to let me use his parking spot, which I found out later that it was fine to park out on the street.

If you want to stay at a cool upcoming loft just a couple minutes away from downtown Houston this is the place to stay.

Loft is very spacious with alot of cool artwork in his loft.

    Huge Bathroom.

    Great restaurants nearby...

For the price this place was a great deal!

  • This was my first Airbnb experience. Alan made it super easy. He is a laid-back guy who is gracious as a host. He let me have the bed because he wasn't there most nights. The loft is as described, really cool decorations, extremely clean, great TV/video system (which I never used). I did use the fridge to store food, the kitchen for cooking, the bike a couple times to have some fun out in town, and the rooftop deck to watch the Houston skyline. All that stuff was basically there for my own use - Alan wasn't there most of the time, so it was close to having "entire place." I don't know how you can beat all that for such a great "shared room" price. The location is excellent, five minutes walk to light rail, but even better - try out the Lyft shared-ride system when in Houston - install the App and people will pick you up within minutes and take you to your destination for a reasonable fee. Alan told me and I got five free rides. Location and transportation - A+. The freight train noise nearby that someone else mentioned is true, the horn can be loud. But that wouldn't stop me from returning. First, because that train seems to cut through all of Houston, I heard it everywhere I went. It's a city-wide issue. Plus, I think I got used to it after a couple of nights. I can't thank you enough, Alan!

  • It was my first time in Houston. Alan was a grew host, very friendly guy. His apartment is very beautiful and spacious, clean and full of art, a great place to stay.
The only thing that bothered me were the trains that didnt stop whistling during the night. If you're a light sleeper, get some earplugs.

  • Alan was an awesome host! He knows a ton about Houston, and doesn't mind showing you the spots to be. It was an amazing experience, and I left with do,e great stories. If you are looking for an adventure with your place to stay THIS IS THE SPOT! I will stay here again anytime I am in the area. I had an awesome time and made a friend at the same time.

  • I greatly enjoyed my too brief stay with Alan. He is intelligent, educated, and well-traveled. His place was quite clean. In fact, the floor was so clean, that even after hours walking in my bare feet following a shower, they were still as clean as when I left the shower! His art filled apartment was tastefully decorated. The location was great. I should be pleased to recommend this place to anyone needing to stay in Houston!

  • Alan was a great host and his loft is a really cool and modern place, full of interesting arts and curious objects.
I was in Houston for a conference with a long schedule and as a result didn't get to spend much time at the apartment. When I did hang out with Alan, we got on really well, swapping travel stories. He's a very easy guy to talk too. His couch is also very comfortable and the free coffee machine in the building lobby is a nice touch.
You can walk to the tram stop in about 10 minutes, which provided a good connection to the downtown business area, though you can also walk it in about 30 minutes. An employee at the conference venue warned me not to walk around at night and because I was carrying a laptop I took a cab back to Alan's a couple of times.

  • Alan was a great host, very friendly and welcoming. He picked me up at the airport and took no offense to leave me his apartment entirely (instead of sharing the open space with him). I was in Houston for a competition and he definitely made everything in his power to make my stay easy, well organized and "free-stress". Good tips about the apt, the city, directions... The loft is in a very interesting building, the area looked very fine though I had not the time to explore it. The loft is super clean, beautiful, the bathroom is huge. Alan is a genuinely nice person. I recommend it.

  • Alan was a great host. Very nice and quick to communicate. I would definitely stay again.

  • Great host, swanky place. Truly exemplifying the "mi casa es su casa" vibe, and good conversation too. If you like the urban package, this one is for you. Super walkable for anything downtown. Definitely the place for me when I come back to Houston.

Also, you wouldn't think having coffee/ lattes available in the lobby is that big a deal... but if you're getting out the door late, it's a total blessing. Stay here. Enjoy the art. Walk downtown.

  • I would just like to say that it was great staying with Alan, and that next time I am in Houston, he will be the first person I will contact for accommodation. A cool place, and a very hospitable landlord. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Houston.
