We had a wonderful time! Phyllis' home is charming, clean, spacious, and located a short 5 minute drive to downtown Hanover - perfect location for us. We brought our 14 month old daughter and there was plenty of room for all of us. She is friendly and interesting but respects her guests' privacy as well. Highly recommended - we can't wait to go back!
I reserved Phyllis' room for my Mom and Aunt who were visiting for graduation weekend. They loved it, calling it a 'story book home' with lots of space for them. Phyllis was very communicative with check in, check out, and everything in between to make sure we had a seamless process. She even offered to make them breakfast. I would definitely recommend her place!
The host, Phyllis, was so gracious. She made me feel at home right away. The bedroom was lovely and extremely comfortable and the bathroom had a generous supply of towels. Phyllis made a delicious breakfast with fruit and yogurt, local bread and goat cheese, and great coffee. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and she will be my first choice if I'm in the area again.
Phyllis was a wonderful host and made us feel instantly welcome. Her lovely home is tucked away in the New Hampshire woods, but the bedroom still managed to have lovely natural light. The spacious sitting room in addition to the convenient private bathroom added up to a perfect stay for us. On top of that was an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and great coffee. We came and went as we pleased through the private entrance.
This Charming Cape with the Charming Host was PERFECT! We went to Hanover to visit parents and needed a place nearby to call home for 3 days. Phyllis greeted us warmly and showed us around her beautiful home. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves, including a lovely, well lit bedroom with a very comfortable bed and soft sheets, in addition to a sitting room with a small refrigerator that came in handy. The bathroom included 2 sinks, a shower/tub with great water pressure, and generous soft towels.
Phyllis provided us with delicious breakfasts of fresh strawberries, yogurt, granola, EXCELLENT coffee, toast, and eggs on request. And she provided us with cool, fresh lime water every day.
The grounds are beautiful, with lovely gardens. And she ordered up perfect sunny weather for us. Phyllis is a kind, generous host. Thanks, Phyllis. We'll be back.
Hi Shelly and David,
Wow! What a great review. Made me want to go there!! Loved meeting both of you. Very special to have such appreciation from a guest. I do feel like I want to make people comfortable and enjoy their stay and want to come back.
Sounds like I succeeded! That makes me happy.
Hope you have a good trip home.
We spent two amazing nights at this charming home while visiting our daughter for parents weekend at Dartmouth University. The owner Phyllis was a great host. In the mornings we were treated to a Breakfast with fresh breads, local cheeses and a beautiful bowl of fruit topped with yogurt. The coffee rivaled any barista in town. Phyllis shared information about the current happenings in the surrounding areas. The home was delightful! We had the entire upstairs with a bathroom, den and large bedroom. The property is quite expensive with a beautiful pond located on site. We loved everything about the home and the host. We are already planning our next visit and we will definitely stay with Phyllis!
Phyllis, and people like her, are the reason Airbnb is so special. First of all, the photos don't really show what a wonderful space awaits here. It truly is a whole floor of space, a fabulously comfortable bed and bedroom with all careful and sweet amenities throughout; an infrared sauna that is heavenly; a living room; and a private bathroom. That's the space - but it is the human being at the helm that makes it superb.
Due to a snow storm, I booked to stay here 2 nights for some appointments at Dartmouth. When we arrived at the beginning of the snow falling, Phyllis generously directed us to park in her garage. She somehow had already carefully noted what one might want (or could possibly want) - she is a vibrant, warm, kind and generous soul who has opened her home and offers it's comforts and her genius hospitality to her guests. Without ever being cloying or invasive, Phyllis cared for us while we were in a stressful situation and made it feel like a retreat. We loved meeting her.
Breakfast was fantastic and way beyond what we expected. Phyllis knew we were gluten free (I had mentioned it when she gave some restaurant suggestions on the phone while booking) and provided us with gluten free options and the best eggs ever for breakfast - so kind and much appreciated. The coffee, as previous reviewers have said, was strong and perfect.
What a gem. I will be back.
You are amazing. What a beautiful review you took the time to write. It is so appreciated. I really get a lot out of helping make people feel comfortable and seeing to their needs if at all possible. I'm sure that you know what I mean being in a profession that cares and helps others towards better health and peace of mind. It is a gift to give of yourself in this way and always rewarding to open your heart to others. It also makes the world a better place to be.
