ECO VILLAGE
Unlike many other Balinese complexes, Green T. House is part of the unique Tony's T-Houses which offers visitors the chance to stay in an environmentally friendly and ecologically sustainable compound which is also part of the local Balinese village farm life and culture. Therefore there is the opportunity for much interaction with the local people and animals, whom you will observe working in rice-fields and gardens, dogs, roosters, cows, chickens, geckos, and so on, as well as passing through the houses and walkways and working around them during their daily routines. If you're looking for a quiet, absolute privacy, serene villa miles from village life this is not the place.

LOCATION
The village of Lodtunduh, located 7 minutes away from Ubud, remains a traditional rice farming and carving village. The people are very friendly and all our workers are from the village. They have plenty to give us and will often ask you to share their food and festivals. Our mini-village is entered from one of the Lodtunduh streets through the local farmers yard on what was previously rather underutilized land passed through on the way to the rice fields and the river. The locals continue to pass through on their chores and it will continue to amaze you as to how many little tasks go to make up the local eco-culture - Hindu ceremonies, offerings, catching eels, rounding up ducks, grazing cows and pigs, picking plants for food and fuel, catching dragonflies, flying kites. Much of the action is seasonal. Remember the Balinese use a lunar calendar and the full and dark moons have strong presence.
Very close to Pelangi school. Yoga barn is 4k.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
We can organise. Rp. 300,000 (US $30)

STAFF
The complex is fully serviced by 8 trained staff and our helpfull manager Wayan.

TRANSPORT OPTIONS
Our staff can either recommend cars with drivers at reasonable rates (approx. US$3/each way to Ubud center) or can arrange hire cars from approx. $19/day. The drive to Ubud is approximately 5 minutes. You can also walk to Ubud through the ricefields and the Monkey Forest, a 30 minute adventure.

TA's REVIEWS:
“Perfect Hideaway”
Reviewed January 25, 2011
I booked Green T and was welcomed warmly by the staff. I was on my own and felt safe at all times. The security guards are lovely and take good care of the guests. If you want to take a late night dip after being in town one will come and stand by the pool, if you ask.

Green T is such a sweet little house. I loved waking up every morning with the breeze coming in through the open structure. It's right next to the "lobby" area and there is always someone near by if you are looking for assistance.

The breakfast is delicious. Fresh fruit, eggs, banana pancakes! All made by local villagers who run T house. Traveling on my own allowed me to really spend some time with the staff. We had a great time laughing and joking around. They were always helpful with organizing a ride into town or helping me get my laundry washed...

If you are looking to get out of the fray of Monkey Village Rd and sit and eat at a village Warung try this! It's affordable and friendly. If you are looking for super high end--this is not for you. There are creepy crawlies abound! They won't hurt you, but they are there. There are roosters and and cats and dogs...snails the size of your palm.

I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. I fell in love with T house and the community.

“Green T House - second stay”
Reviewed November 18, 2012
This is the second time that I have stayed at Green T House in T House Klod and it was every bit as relaxing and enjoyable as the first time. It's a great option for self-catering as well as for those who want to eat out in Ubud but also want to stay away from the (increasingly) busy town centre. There is plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the view as well as a fantastic pool to cool off in. The staff are also extremely helpful, efficient and went out of their way to help me get my rucksack back after it was (stupidly) left in a random taxi one night when returning late. I wouldn't hesitate to return and from what I saw of the other accomodation options would recommend the place to anyone. (There is also a really good driver, Putu, who works with T-House Klod who I would also recommend for day-trips and taxi rides.)

“We loved our 2 weeks at Green T house”
Reviewed October 29, 2013
My husband and I spent a fantastic two weeks at Green T house in early October. We had read all the reviews and knew what to expect (not central, creepy crawlies, etc.), and none of those things were issues for us. We actually didn't really find all that many creep crawlies in our time there!

Green T house was exactly what we were looking for. We run a software business and work from where ever we are at the time. Green T is a bit unique in that it's in the back row, but you do get a view over the pool to the rice fields. We thought it was perfect. We loved working on the giant patio with the great view. We found it was really good from a shade perspective in the afternoon. The covered part of the patio was also great in the few rainy evenings we had!

The staff was fantastic, we never tired of the breakfast, we found that the information provided by the host (especially delivery menus) was great, the internet was fast (for Bali) and fairly reliable, and we had the staff cook dinner for us a couple of times, which was delicious. We cooked about half our meals in the kitchen.

We really enjoyed walking into town through the rice fields (a new adventure every day) and finding a transport to bring us home once it got dark. You could also easily rent a motorbike if you felt stranded.

Green T is probably best for a couple or for a small family, since the two beds upstairs are in fairly close proximity and in the same room. It would also be best for kids who can get up and down a fairly steep staircase/ladder. There's not a lot that goes on at night, so if you need entertainment, we'd recommend bringing movies on your laptop! We were content to read on the comfy patio furniture after it got dark.

Once improvement would have been that the cleaning could have been more thorough, or there could have been come cleaning supplies. It got a little cobwebby by the end of our two weeks!

All in all, we had an amazing time and hope we'll be back!

  • Nice house with a great garden, pool and view over the rice fields. The bedroom and bathroom are great, kitchen could be better. Location is nice but you need a taxi to get to the center of Ubud. Their driver Piel was a nice guy and arranged some fun activities for us like biking and walking up mt. Batur. Can recommend.

  • Beautiful village and people, would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a more rural setting but close to what Ubud has to offer. We loved falling asleep to singing from the village ceremonies. A nice communal feel with as much privacy as you need. The THouse staff are wonderful and so helpful!!

  • Great house (one in 12 house complex), very down to earth but comfortable for short or long stays. The view of rice fields and the open air concept bedroom certainly has to be experienced.
Thanks again for the friendly staff who fixed breakfast every morning, All together we had very pleasent stay.

  • We loved staying at the Green T House. Susanna was great to deal with, and liaised with the T House manager on our behalf. The T House itself is gorgeous - the perfect compromise between a generic resort and a homestay. Yes, there was the rooster chorus from 5am, but it was all part of the experience. Just awesome, and will be our first stop on our return to Indonesia.
