Suite near airport, downtown Boston

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Webster Street, Boston, MA 02128, United States

This East Boston suite is the perfect home base for travelers! Easily accessible by public transportation, just a 3-minute walk from Maverick Square station on the blue line, between the Airport and Aquarium stations in either direction. Enjoy the best skyline views of downtown Boston from the pier!

The Space

My apartment includes two floors on the lowest level of an apartment complex, with neighbors in the two apartments above. The ground floor contains my main living areas. The floor below it contains your bedroom, your private bathroom, and my laundry room/storage area. This lower level has its own entrance, and I generally do not come downstairs except to do laundry, so we will cross paths rarely if at all during your stay. Of course, I am nearby if you have questions, need directions or advice, or have any problems during your visit.

Guest Access

Your bedroom:

Your bedroom is spacious and comfortable, featuring freshly-painted walls and ceramic flooring. Furnishings include a full-sized bed, nightstand, a dresser, a 19" flat screen TV with DirecTV programming, a small writing desk, and a fold-out loveseat that can serve as a second bed if two guests prefer to sleep separately. There is also a mini fridge/freezer, a microwave for reheating leftovers or convenience meals, an electric kettle, and a 4-cup coffee maker. A selection of teas and coffees is available to you, and mugs, paper plates, bowls, napkins, and plastic cutlery is provided.

Your bathroom:

Your private bathroom is located directly next to the bedroom. It includes a shower, sink, toilet, and medicine cabinet. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste are provided - no need to worry about liquids at the airport security! Towels and a hairdryer are available for your use.

Amenities summary:
-Wireless internet is available in your suite
-TV with DirecTV programming
-Mini fridge, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker
-In summer, a box fan is available.
-Washer/dryer available for your use. This is also my washer and dryer, so note that I may come downstairs to use the laundry room while you are visiting. Your bedroom and bathroom are farther down the hall, so I will not be walking through your space.

Interaction with Guests

Check-in:
As a nursing student, my schedule is irregular - I am at class sometimes during the day, and have day and night shifts at local hospitals. Prior to your visit we will discuss a mutually convenient time for you to check in, or I will give you instructions to let yourselves in using a lock box.

When you arrive I will show you the space, answer any questions you may have, and help you plan your trip if desired. After that, you can come and go as you please. My main living spaces are on the floor above you, so you will probably only bump into me if I am downstairs doing laundry, but I am not far if you need anything!

Getting around

Public Transportation:

Public transportation and walking is the best way to get around Boston! The apartment is located 3 minutes from Maverick station on the blue line of the MBTA subway (the T). It is also one stop away from the Airport station, so if you are flying into Logan you will have an easy route! In the other direction, it is one stop away from the Aquarium station in downtown Boston, so you will be in the center of the action in 5-10 minutes! Rides on the local subway and buses cost $2.50 each way, or you can purchase an unlimited day pass ($11) or weekly pass ($18).

Short-Term Street Parking:

2-hour parking spots are available in front of the apartment on Webster Street, and are free to visitors (note that you will have to move your car every two hours, so this is not a good long-term parking plan). The 2-hour parking spots are easy to find during the day, but become scarce at night when neighborhood residents return from work.

Long-Term Garage Parking:

The closest longer-term parking solution is Airport Valet & Park. Their drop-off location is 151 Liverpool Street in East Boston, and you must call them ahead of time to arrange a time to drop off/pick up the car. They park the car for you in a secure parking structure just outside downtown Boston and bring it back for you at pick-up time. To read more about their services, (website hidden) "Airport Valet & Park Boston."
There are also parking garages located in downtown Boston. Their prices range from $20-$50/day.

Other Things to Note

Guest guide:

Your room contains a welcome basket with lots of suggestions for restaurants, historical attractions, museums, shows and nightlife, and other activities that may interest you while you're in town. Maps and brochures are provided to help you plan your itinerary. I've lived in Boston since 2009 and can answer any questions you may have about public transportation, tourist attractions and prices, neighborhoods of interest, nearby colleges and convention centers, etc. Feel free to ask for advice!

  • Wonderfully easy and pleasant experience. Sara was very pleasant and hospitable. She met us upon check-in, explained all the ins and outs of the place, and gave us a lot of info on how to get around town. She also provided basic necessities (bathroom supplies, laundry supplies, etc) in case we forgot to pack them. Room was clean and exactly as described. We only stayed for one night, but it was still a great experience.

  • The place was easy to get to. Sara checked us in. She was very welcoming. If u plan to stay in the apartment for a longer period though, it is noisy and the Internet is really slow. Other than that, it was good.

  • Excellent place. Great location. Close to airport. Flying in from the uk it cost us less than $10 to get a cab to Sara's place. Also just a 2-3 minute walk to the nearest metro station, 2-3 stops to get downtown. So easy.
Sara really has gone the extra mile with lots of little thoughtful extras that you might need on your trip; a range of toiletries, teas, coffees, oatmeal, fridge, microwave and laundry facilities etc, as well as a very helpful file full of tips and advice for sightseeing.
The basement apartment is cosy and so quiet and peaceful.
    Thank you Sara.

  • Sara responded to all messages very swiftly. Her location is very convenient to get to from the airport. I especially appreciate all the extra conveniences you might not expect from a smaller place (e.g., small refrigerator and kitchenette area, laundry).

  • Great way to know Boston! Sara had everything in the house to receive us well, even some tips for tourists.
    Tks Sara!

  • Sarah was a great host, the place was private and cozy. I loved how it was so close to the subway station and that made it easy to get around the city.

  • My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights. We arrived before check-in time but Sara was very accommodating. Her Mother was in town and she let us drop off our bags and pick up keys. The room is just as it is pictured. Very cute and
Comfortable. Sara had a great supply of coffee and instant oatmeal for is and the fridge and microwave came in handy.
Our walk from maverick Station was 5 minutes max. So convenient to get everywhere on the subway.
Our first meal was at Italian Express which one block up and over. Tripadvisor said it was the #10 place to eat in ALL of Boston! It was super good and affordable. And they deliver!

One thing to note is that the stairs to your room are very narrow and steep. Neither of is had a full size suitcase and it was a good thing. Maneuvering our bags down and then up the stairs was the only challenge of our stay.

Overall this was a great value and a wonderful place to stay.

  • Sara's place was in a great convenient location in Boston. The walk from the metro to the place was close and the check in was smooth. The place was tidy and there were enough amenities provided. Although it was in the basement, it still had natural light and felt comfortable. There was enough space for 2 people. It was a in a quiet location. I would definitely stay here again when I am in Boston again!

  • Sara's Suite was the perfect stop for our one night in Boston, with plenty of room for the three of us! Sara's mom was visiting from out of state, and was there to greet us and get us acquainted with the space when we arrived, the kitchenette was fully stocked with an excellent coffee selection, and the beds were super comfortable - even the pull-out! Thanks again for a great experience!

  • Very comfortable bedroom suite near Logan.
Sara worked with my uncertain time of arrival, to ensure I could get in even when she could not meet me there personally.
It's actually within reasonable walking distance of the airport: ~a mile and a quarter, depending on the terminal. With no luggage to speak of, I made it each way in under 25 mins. Bonus: a bit of brisk exercise in the 18 degree early March air!
