-Due to my variable schedule as a graduate student and nurse, I unfortunately cannot take bookings more than 4 months in advance.
-As of 10/27/14, requests for early luggage drop-off or holding luggage past noon on departure day may be permitted for a $10 fee. I am implementing this fee because it has become quite complicated to arrange early and late baggage requests while accommodating the needs of other guests who are arriving or departing on the same days. In some cases, accommodations for baggage may not be possible due to scheduling conflicts, and it will be the guests' responsibility to hold onto their luggage or find an alternate storage location until the designated check-in time or after the noon check-out time. Please ask me in advance if you expect you will need early baggage drop-off or late baggage pick-up so we can start planning early.
-Directions to my apartment from South Station, North Station, and Logan Airport are included in the confirmation email Airbnb sends when you book the apartment. Please read through the directions and contact me with any questions.
-Guests must have access to a cell phone that can send and receive calls and/or text messages in the United States. It is very important that we are able to reach one another to communicate any travel delays or changes in plans.
-Please read the parking section (below) carefully if you are planning to drive.
About the apartment:
My apartment includes two floors on the lowest level of an apartment complex, with neighbors in the two apartments above. The ground floor contains my main living areas. The floor below it contains your bedroom, your private bathroom, a living room, and a laundry area. This lower level has its own entrance, and I generally do not come downstairs except to do laundry, so we will cross paths rarely if at all during your stay. (I will tell you in advance if I expect to do laundry during your time here). Of course, I am nearby if you have questions, need directions or advice, or have any problems during your visit.
Your bedroom is spacious and comfortable, featuring freshly-painted walls and ceramic flooring. Furnishings include a full-sized bed, nightstand, a dresser, a 19" flat screen TV with Netflix and DVD player, a small writing desk, and a fold-out loveseat that can serve as a second bed if two guests prefer to sleep separately. There is also a mini fridge/freezer, a microwave for reheating leftovers or convenience meals, an electric kettle, and a Keurig single-cup coffee maker. Tea and coffee is provided, as well as mugs, paper plates, bowls, napkins, and plastic cutlery.
Your living room:
-Includes a full-sized futon, settee, coffee table, and storage area for coats and bags
Your private bathroom is located next to the bedroom. It includes a shower, sink, toilet, and medicine cabinet. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste are provided - no need to worry about liquids at the airport security! Towels and a hairdryer are provided for your use.
-Wireless internet is available in your suite
-TV with Netflix and DVD player
-Mini fridge, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker
-In summer, a box fan is available.
-Washer/dryer available for your use. This is also my washer and dryer, so note that I may come downstairs to use the laundry room while you are visiting.
As a nursing student, my schedule is irregular - I am at class sometimes during the day, and have day and night shifts at local hospitals. Prior to your visit we will discuss a mutually convenient time for you to check in, or I will give you instructions to let yourselves in using a lock box.
When you arrive I will show you the space, answer any questions you may have, and help you plan your trip if desired. After that, you can come and go as you please.
Public transportation and walking is the best way to get around Boston! The apartment is located 3 minutes from Maverick station on the blue line of the MBTA subway (the T). It is also one stop away from the Airport station, so if you are flying into Logan you will have an easy route! In the other direction, it is one stop away from the Aquarium station in downtown Boston, so you will be in the center of the action in 5-10 minutes! Rides on the local subway and buses cost $2.65 each way, or you can purchase an unlimited day pass ($11) or weekly pass ($18).
Free street parking is available in front of the apartment on Webster Street. Overnight (6pm-8am) and on weekends and holidays, visitors may leave their cars for as long as they wish. On Monday-Friday between 8am and 6pm, these spots become two-hour parking (you will have to move your car to a new block every two hours, so this is not a good long-term parking plan). Street parking is easy to find during the day, but become scarce at night when neighborhood residents return from work. Note that street sweeping occurs on Thursdays and cars must be moved between 8am and noon to avoid being towed.
Long-Term Garage Parking:
The closest longer-term parking solution is Airport Valet & Park. Their drop-off location is 151 Liverpool Street in East Boston, and you must call them ahead of time to arrange a time to drop off/pick up the car. They park the car for you in a secure parking structure just outside downtown Boston and bring it back for you at pick-up time. To read more about their services, (website hidden) "Airport Valet & Park Boston."
There are also parking garages located in downtown Boston. Their prices range from $20-$50/day.
Your room contains a welcome basket with lots of suggestions for restaurants, historical attractions, museums, shows and nightlife, and other activities that may interest you while you're in town. Maps and brochures are provided to help you plan your itinerary. I've lived in Boston since 2009 and can answer any questions you may have about public transportation, tourist attractions and prices, neighborhoods of interest, nearby colleges and convention centers, etc. Feel free to ask for advice!
1. Please turn off lights when not in use.
2. Please use trash cans in bedroom and bathroom to dispose of waste. The blue recycling bin in the hallway can be used for clean hard plastics, glass bottles and jars, paper, cans and tins.

4. No fires (candles, incense, etc) are permitted in the apartment.
5. No smoking or drug use is permitted in the apartment.

7. Please be respectful of our neighbors in the building by avoiding loud music or noise, especially late at night and early in the morning.
8. If furniture or amenities are broken or missing after a guest check-out, or if extensive cleaning is required, reimbursement may be requested through Airbnb.

10. If you would like to drop off luggage prior to check-in or leave bags after check-out, please ask Sara in advance. I will do my best to accommodate you, but this will be dependent on the reservation schedule and the needs of other guests.
Sara was super accommodating and helpful. Our flight was delayed and she made sure everything was OK and waited until we got there safe and sound. She gave us lots of useful tips on the neighborhood and tours around Boston.
The place was just a few minutes walk to the T. The rooms are clean and warm. Sara even prepared 2 electric heaters for us just in case the apartment heating wasn't enough.
Thanks Sara! I would definitely stay there again.
Very comfortable apartment, exactly as described. The bed is super comfy, lots of warm blankets and a really nice mattress.
Sara was very easy to communicate with, very responsive by email & by phone. We were there for 2 days - checking in and out was very easy. Great neighborhood, very close to Maverick Sq
made to feel really welcome, and was given full information about the apartment and area. it was a shame that there was so much snow with more expected so couldn't appreciate the area. It was close to the MBTA so could get to downtown and back to the airport very easily. very comfortable apartment, with coffee machine microwave and fridge. great italian restaurant round the corner. thank you sara for a great visit thanks also for the comprehensive visitor folder
Great access to the airport. Our flight was delayed a day Sara's place was cozy and a good place to hunker down in a snow storm. It is a basement apt. but has nice personal touch. Appreciate the coffee and oatmeal etc. We would stay again. Thank you Sarah!
Sara was extremely accommodating and made this a very positive first experience with airbnb. She graciously answered my many questions. The bed was very comfortable and the location was excellent for going to and from the airport as well as downtown.
Sara was an excellent host. She provided great instructions for how to check in and check out, making it a breeze. She was very welcoming with an informative binder providing tips for how to enjoy the city! The apartment is as it appears in the pictures, very neat and tidy. There were two of us and Sara had a separate bed set up and ready for us when we arrived. The neighbourhood also felt safe and was extremely convenient for hopping on the T to the downtown core, or to the airport stop on the Blue line to catch the free shuttle to our terminal.
Sara's place was great! She has everything you'll need. She even created a guest binder with lots of useful info. I recommend staying at her place to anyone. So close to the airport, too.
