Staying with Eliane at the Tamarindo B & B was like staying with family. She was so helpful with information about Cozumel and other parts of Mexico, that we had interest in. Our room was clean and so nicely decorated with colorful Mexican embroidery on our bed. We felt so special to experience such a lovely place and to know our lovely host Eliane. I hope to return again and stay at the Tamarindo B & B.
The room was very, very nice! Very spacey and stylish. Location is also ok, quite near to the center but quiet.
Charming apartment-style space with two comfy beds in different rooms, a step-down kitchen with seating, covered porch with seating and a table, great shower, open air feel -- plenty of room for a couple with children or two friends traveling together who need a little space apart for sleeping. Eliane is a great host and even introduced me to her yoga class (which I returned to several more times on my own). The B&B is in a cool part of San Miguel where you can almost feel like an ex-pat for a few days...charming neighborhood with great loncherias, nearby grocery shopping, biking trails, and very good shopping (prices here where much more negotiable than what I encountered later in Tulum and Playa Del Carmen (I was tempted to take the ferry back over to Cozumel just to do my end-of-trip shopping). Be sure to hang out on the central town square - especially on Sunday night - live music and street food vendors selling the best flan I've ever eaten.
Really enjoyed my experience here and the room was an excellent value. When I opened the doors onto the small balcony, light and a nice breeze flooded the room making the fan mostly unnecessary (but I was still glad it was there). The room and the overall facilities were very clean and the people staying there were all very friendly. If I were to return, I might be tempted to take one of the rooms more in the back since my room opened onto the street which was obviously a little noisier but in spite of that I had no problem sleeping. It is a few blocks to the waterfront and lots of nice restaurants are close by (particularly liked Kinta). Frankly, with the number of cruise ships, it was quite nice being slightly away from the action. I got into Cozumel very early in the morning and since my room was not in use the night before, Eliane kindly allowed me into it on arrival which was much appreciated. I stayed a full week and did lots of snorkeling, visited Buccanos (yummy coconut French toast), checked out restaurants, visited the museum and walked along the waterfront for miles!
We stayed at Elaine's for two nights in the (website hidden) was very clean, with a lot of character. We used the fan to cool off in the evenings which was enough, even though we could have paid extra for air con if needed.Elaine was lovely, she took the time to sit down with us and write on the map where some great eateries are, she also recommended and booked us a table for dinner and an Ayurvedic/Thai massage at an amazing place. We had breakfast included every morning which was very tasty and made with love by Elaine herself. Our room was cleaned every day which was amazing. The palapa is only a 10min walk from the main pier, we hired a beetle convertible to get around the island which we highly recommend!Punta sur is a great spot to (website hidden) is Corona beach for snorkelling! All in all a great place.
Xx
Our 4 day stay in Cozumel and Tamarindo B&B was a lovely experience. To start with Tamarindo B&B is an oasis in San Miguel with the white houses and the green garden. It is well maintained compared to the the neighboring houses. It is 10 min walk from the ferry terminal.
The room is simple but contains everything that you need, is clean, roustique and nicely decorated. You enjoy breakfast at the veranda with fresh fruit accompanied by coffee or tea, juice accompanied by a sandwich, crêpe or tortillas. We appreciated having water, fridge and micro wave at our disposal in the small kitchen.
Regarding the service, Eliane was very helpful. Especially when one of our suitcases was lost during the flight Eliane helped us with all the contact with the airport. She also helped us calling the car rental. If we liked to rent snorkling equipment she offered this service as well.
We would warmly recommend to go to Cozumel for a relaxed easy vacation and would happily let Eliane host us again at Tamarindo B&B!
Nice host, nice place. We'll maintained, good pool.
I would definitely recommend the place.
My wife and I stayed in the Palapa room at the Tamarindo for a week, and we would highly recommend it to others. Tamarindo is located very close to the heart of San Miguel, within easy walking distance of the ferry and main sqare. Our room was adorable and clean. A housekeeper cleaned and straightened up each day. Also, free purified water was available in the shared kitchen, so we could refill out water bottles each day befoe heading out. I felt very safe because there was an outside wall with a lock in addition to the lock for our room. There was also a tv with lots of spanish and some english channels. The room also had a mini-fridge, and a great ceiling fan to keep us cool. There was AC available, but we did not need it with the fan going.
I only have positive things to say about our experience!
