My wife & I have lived in Charlottesville for 8 happy years. We love the slow pace, the beautiful scenery, gallery hopping, wine tasting, and the local music scene of this city. My wife is an accomplished artist & many of her works along with other local artists are featured in the space
We had a great time staying at Rick's place! The banana bread was a nice touch and made us feel very welcome. The location isn't too far from many of Charlottesville's great restaurants and bars. We also walked down to the Rivanna Trail and did a great 6 mile stretch of it. The only downside to the apartment is the musty smell. It wasn't too bad at first, but there were a few points where the smell (particularly in the bathroom) was rather unpleasant. That being said, it is a basement apartment so it's bound to happen. Overall, it was a great value and we really appreciated being able to stay in the space!
Rick had delicious banana bread waiting for us with a cute Welcome! sign. The unit was adorable, clean, and super close to downtown C'ville. It was perfect for two or three guests. We had fun and were very comfy, thanks Rick!
The location was fabulous and we so appreciated getting use of the driveway for parking during our stay. We stayed with our 1 year old daughter, so the room set-up (second bedroom accessible through the first bedroom) was perfect. Also, it is was very quiet. We were welcomed with a mini-loaf of homemade pumpkin bread, which was a nice touch. There was a musty smell to the place, but I suspect that may be unavoidable in a basement apartment in this region of the country. There was a de-humidifier running when we arrived and if we were vigilant about emptying it and keeping it running the dampness wasn't so bad.
The apartment was nicely decorated. The main bed was comfortable. We were welcomed with home baked pumpkin bread. Just a couple of little issues: the door separating the main bedroom from the second bedroom, the one with the twin bed, does not close; it had to be propped shut. Also the fridge is super loud.
Rick had emailed me earlier with directions how to get in and where to park. There was a a pumpkin bread waiting for us when we arrived! The place was exactly as pictured, very clean and inviting. Coffee and teas were provided and some snacks as well. Being a basement room there was no need for AC. Both beds were very comfortable. We had trouble figuring out the TV, but Sigrid showed us what to do. The location was right in the heart of the Belmont area within walking distance to a fab yoga studio and awesome restaurants. There was a list of the area's attractions with websites and phone numbers. This was a great place to stay!
Great apartment set up for couple with 18 month son. Second bedroom perfect for pack and play. Spacious and cheery. Worked perfectly for our visit!
