The Space

Please, ask me about your stay in Rome during the winter, this city can really be a wonderful surprise! No long lines, nice weather, and lots of nice things to do to live Rome as Romans do!
So, check my good offers, also if you wish to go around in Rome with a professional guide.

Happy life to all of you, my dear future new friends!
Life is really a celebration and do not hesitate to celebrate it in Rome as well!

"Silvia was a fantastic host. The room was really comfortable with plenty of room. There was a guide book of Rome which I was free to take out with me and the tea and coffee to be used at my pleasure. Silvia is a very interesting and knowledgable woman and I really enjoyed our evenings chatting and laughing together. She also knows how to cook and my meals there were a delicious enjoyment to the end of the day! It was easy to walk to the ancient city (20 mins) and for getting around to other places it is easily linked to both a bus (not great in Italy generally) and the metro which works really well, is a 5 min walk away. The area is safe, quiet and untouristy. AND there there are the four wonderful cats to spend your evenings, and if you so choose, your nights with! Enjoy!" Emma from London April 2013

I want to make sure, I am comfortable with my guests, so please write me a message first.
I start by saying that I do write clear that I have cats. The house is cleaned every day by me, and two time a week (at least) by a co-worker. We use all the necessary to avoid cats smell, and we do it. In case you are very sensitive or allergic to animals, I am the first to tell you to avoid my house. ;)

My sunny flat is located near Saint John at the Lateran Basilica and a couple of bus stops from the Colosseum, in the very heart of one of the most Roman quarters, within walking distance from the subway station Re di Roma, only a few steps from bus station 87 (to Piazza Navona area) and 360 Bus to Santa Maria Maggiore (Termini Main Station).

I offer a room with a large, soft , new, I repeat NEW (it was bought end 2011) confortable double bed, TV a nice old fashioned rack to hang your clothes, a huge library and some XIX. century furniture that belonged to my family.

Special rates iIf you wish to stay longer than one week (not from 15th March to 15th November)

I speak English, French and German and live with four nice cats, so if you like animals, this is the right place for you.

The bathroom is in common with the owner. If you need , you can use a very good hair dryer too.

This Roman house is full of colors, books, music, pictures and my Italian-international style.

You will find fresh towels, a map of Rome and a complementary bottle of water at your arrival.

In the room there will be a small corner with a good selection of teas, coffee and some brown sugar for you.

Please very important: due to the setting of the flat, I cannot host families with children younger than 12 years.
Pregnant women
People on a wheel-chair

I apologize for this.
I respect the privacy of all my guests, guests for me are very important and I try to make their stay as nice as possible. I ask in return only a little bit of understanding for the presence of my fluffy friends, and respect for the house and objects ;)).
Last but not least: I don't hide I have four cats. So, if you accept to come to my house it is clear for me you like animals and cats in particular. Cats are alive...use the litter and sometimes can show they are nervous...so if you think you can't accept this, I can comprehense. You are free to choose, but I will not accept any complaint about having cats home after your stay. For any issue, you can talk with me at home anytime...;))

If you like reading, you can also look at my books and...if you have a book at home you are not reading anymore, or that you do not like, or that you really liked...but...why don't you bring it to me and leave it here. I will give you a small present for this. Books tell a lot about owners, and it is a way for me to remember you.

  • This is the best place i've stayed so far, better than some of the hotels to be honest. The apartment is located in the centre of the tourist attractions, just few miles away from the metro station, lots of shops nearby. The local community over there are really friendly and nice, really had a great time in Italy. Silvia is really helpful, she gave a very good explanation on wherebout to go and which public transport to take and yes she has an AMAZING apartment,me and my friend couldn't stop taking pictures all around her place.overall it was a perfect, unforgettable experience.

  • Sylvia is a truly wonderful host. So considerate, helpful, and lots of fun. She had everything ready for us even though we arrived early, allowed us to leave our bags late when we had to check out late, and gave us many great tips. She has decorated her place in a beautifully shabby-chic style, we just loved it. Tea was waiting for us when we arrived from the cold Roma rain. She is also a very talented jewelry artist, and made us custom peices! Great take-home gifts. Thank you, Sylvia! See you in San Francisco.

  • L'appartement est très bien situé dans Rome, le quartier très agréable. Sylvia, maîtresse de 4 chats (!) prend le temps de partager sa vision de Rome et du voyage, un échange intéressant.

Really we recommend this place and if we return to Rome we will come back.

  • Our stay with Silvia was really great!
She welcomed us very warmly and made sure we felt good in her house.
We could benefit from plans and the lonely planet from Rome which was very helpful.
The appartement is very charming and clean. The bedroom was really comfy and the air-conditioning was the cherry on the top. The cats are adorable and the location is more than okay.
On the last day we even left our bags until very late with no problem.
This would definitely be a place to recommend!
