My husband and I enjoyed out stay at Gianni Franzi in Vernazza. The room was ready early and we were helped with finding our way around the town and hiking the Cinque Terre. The view from the room was fabulous as well as the view from the deck at breakfast each morning.
Gianni Franzi is a hotel in Vernazza. Our room had a fantastic view to both the village and the sea. Lovely stay!
This was a wonderful room with a sea view. LOTS of step so be prepared. Like lots. It is a small room, and you share a hall bathroom. But it is adequate, unless you are looking to be in your room the whole time. They do make you check out at 10am so be prepared. The housekeepers were knocking on our door at 9:45am. They are NOT flexible on check out time.
Just about everything about staying at Gianni Franzi's was perfect. it is more of a hotel than a private residence, but it was a nice surpirse. Our room looked about on an amazing view of Vernazza, the distant village of Corniglia and the mediterranean. Our room was simple and cozy, the bed was such a cozy relief after a long day of hiking and walking through Cinque Terre. Waking up each morning to a prepared breakfast on a terrace overlooking the sea was very welcome, it's in a communal area so it gives a great opportunity to hear what other travelers are doing and generate ideas. There were allot of complaints about the staircases and the "intense" hike up to the hotel, i found it to be not at all a problem an actually very pleasant to walk through the quiet back streets of Vernazza. The shared bathrooms were tricky to get around, we found it best to use our jet lag to our advantage and do washing up in the early morning before everyone was awake, and to come back in late afternoon for siesta when most other occupants were out for the day.
All in all, loved staying here and would definetly come back again!!
