About this listing
Right in the Old Town, you will have shops, restaurants and walks literally round the corner. Parking 5 minutes walk. Fully equipped for long stays, please contact us for the best price. No extra fee for late arrivals. Quiet and cosy!
Days for a great break in the historical centre of a small pretty city!
The apartment is in the heart of the old town, on a privileged locations: in one of the most known streets of the town, with nice and special shops around (ever heard of a shop selling angels or Roman armor??)
The place is well insulated, with double glazed to prevent any noise coming from the street below. As the town is closed to the cars of non residents, the traffic is really low- good life quality! And as I live on the apartment below your you won't have parties every night (or you'll be one in it! :) )
The apartment is very simple: a living room with a sofa-bed and a small but well equipped kitchen, and another room with the bedroom. It doesn't feel small as the ceiling is very high, and there is good light and sun coming from the street.
The bedroom can be perfectly closed so no light comes in if you need absolute darkness to sleep. The apartment has air conditioning with a heat pump so you'll have the right temperature all year.
The kitchen, working on electric: vitro-ceramic cooks, and microwave. Also a fridge of course.
The bathroom is small but very comfortable: as the hot water comes from a gas heater, you will never miss a good shower.
A very nice part is the balcony on the street- see the picture of the small train (fake) passing by. With the small table, you'll have the perfect place for a cup of tea- or wine.
As you can see in the pictures, the decoration tries to match the ceramic original tiles on the floor (some 80 years old). We have tried to make it simple and elegant.
We have recently added a washing machine in a small room on the entrance, that you can use free of charge.
The apartment has recently been renovated, and the builing was made by a famous local architect, Rafel Maso. It has its museum two doors away, but unfortunately our building has only a few details on Maso style.
As the apartment is just in the city centre, everything is there: restaurants, take away food, supermarkets, museums... and of course the cathedrals, les Rambles... Actually I have a blog with my recommendations of Girona- I can't write the web address in there, but you'll have it when you book.
Girona is a small city so it takes less than 20 minutes to get anywhere from the centre: the train station is about 20 minutes walk.
There is no transit behind the apartment, apart from birds passing by.
As we want the things to be really easy, you may check in as late as you need as the apartment lock works with a code. Also, you may check out late if there is no booking for the same day.
Girona is a city that call for long walks, for quiet evenings with a glass of wine, or maybe for a theatre or music night? Also, at it is very safe, you can walk until late at night, by the old wall, by the river...
There a good number of occasions to visit Girona: Girona temps de flors, when all the city is dressed with flowers, or by Easter, with the Processó de Setmana Santa. Also Fires by end october (although it may be a bit crowded).
There is a very nice bar downstairs, and they'll let you pick your order upstairs and enjoy it at the apartment.
You won't find a nicest place in Girona. Also, as I am a private owner I can keep the price very reasonable.
Please contact me if you plan a long stay during low season. We already have had a writer and a journalist with good inspiration! And also a threathlon athlete!
This apartment is legally registered with the code H11GT00121
You will have a wifi and washing machine.
Interaction with Guests
I love sharing a beer with my guests in the bar downstairs.
The Old Town (barri vell) is a lively area with many places to visit, shops, or simply walk around. I specially love the gardens around the city wall, 10 minutes from here.
Neighbours: the building has 4 floor. Above yours, a nice guy that grows tomatoes on the roof. In front, the other apartment to rent but there are two doors in between so you'll hardly hear anything. And below yours, my own apartment.
The train station is 15 minutes away by foot. There are some buses around, but Girona is a small city and you already are in the center.
If you like nature, there is a big garden 10 minutes away with trees that were planted by Napoleon (or so they say). Or, even better, real vegetable gardens and forests 15 minutes walk away.
Taxis are available on demand, or also around the corner.
Other Things to Note
The apartment is ideal if you look for a cosy place down-town, at a reasonable price. There is a free parking area nearby, and we have a special deal with a parking for 15€ per day.
Smoking: please smoke on the balcony. That will prevent the smell of the smoke to invade the clothes.
Music: please keep it reasonable at all times, as the whole neighbourhood is very silent.
Rubbish: it can be left outside the building after 8pm.
You will have a washing machine available, free of charge, but you need to bring the soap.
It is very nice if you can leave the apartment reasonably clean, as we don't charge any cleaning fee. We'll clean it better after you leave, but it helps.
Please let us know if anything breaks during your stay or you found it broken. We won't be angry and we'll replace it, if you have made a reasonable use.

My husband and I had a lovely stay in David's apartment in Girona. The flat was comfortable and true to the pictures; it was somewhat small, but worked well for a couple. The wifi and other amenities worked well, and David was very kind and welcoming. He left clear information for us about things to do in Girona as well as letting us know about interesting things going on in the city. Would definitely recommend!
We were met and welcomed at the appointed time. Everything was as described, extremely good value for money and the location was perfect.
This is not a Premier Inn, its simple but perfect for our needs, we loved it. The Old Town Nest is exactly what we wanted, a nice crash pad in the epicentre of this most picturesque city.
Ballesteries is a lively street, the sound of the crowd drifts up noisily. During our stay there was some building work too, but the double glazing shuts out the noise almost completely.
Stepping out of the front door, you walk right into the heart of Girona. Everything is within a short walk but be ready for those steps, Girona is a great cardio workout.
We found the apartment easily and it was exactly as described.
A great place to stay in the centre of Girona.
Great little apartment right in old town Girona. The description was exactly the way the apartment was, and it worked out just perfectly for me. David made it very easy to check in and get settled. I definitely recommend this as an easy option for staying in old town.

About the Host, David
I am someone who likes very different things, you will see. Let's start: I was born in a small town in l'Empordà, called Torroella de Montgrí. Those were also a mixture of happy and wild times, a bit like Amarcord from Fellini (watch it if you haven't).
Then I studied computer science in Barcelona, and a PhD with a part of it in London, about medical imaging.
In between something entered my life, for good: yoga: I started practicing and soon I was so pationated then when I finished my PhD it was obvious that becoming a teaching would be the best choice of my life.
So I practice yoga every day, and also: I love music, and I play myself the accordeon and the clarinet. Just as an amateur, but the pleasure of making music is amazing. I also like dancing, folk music and lately also Lindy Hop (Girona has a few places to dance if you are into it).
I like eating well and healthy. Not to much meat (I am sorry for those creatures we kill but sometimes it comes and I eat).
I like travelling, in all wild ways, but I am not a traveller that can tell thousands things! I participate as well in the couchsurfing project, from time to time- and when there isn't already someone at my place, a friend or a friend of a friend.
The apartment I rent, Girona Riverside, was planned to be for me as another floor was ment to be the yoga studio. However now I have another, bigger, place for yoga and I rent it. I hope you like it!
As a buddhist (if I can call myself that which I don't know) my motto would be to understand the sources of suffering, and enjoy immediate happyness.
