About this listing

Our Puamana vacation town home is located next to the world class Westin Resort at the end of a private road about 1/4 mile from the main road running through the Princeville Resort. In this serene and secluded setting, the only sounds you are exposed to are bird calls, and the rustling of palm trees in the trade winds. With no one living above or below you as would be the case in a condo, a relaxing peace and quiet awaits you when you return.

The space

You will find our rental rates on Airbnb to be very competitive and include Hawaii taxes. Our rates are also structured with discounts based on length-of-stay beginning with seven nights or more.

Our Puamana vacation town home is located next to the world class Westin Resort at the end of a private road about 1/4 mile from the main road running through the Princeville Resort. In this serene and secluded setting, the only sounds you are exposed to are bird calls, and the rustling of palm trees in the trade winds. With no one living above or below you as would be the case in a condo, a relaxing peace and quiet awaits you when you return from a day of exploring our beautiful island. Unlike other rental properties here at Puamana that have loft type bedrooms, our town home features three bedrooms that are fully enclosed and totally private. We provide everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable and memorable: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, laundry/dishwasher detergent for the length of your stay. Linens, towels, plus beach/pool towels, cable TV and ROKU Service for streaming Netflix movies, Pandora music and many other ROKU channels, telephone and high speed broadband, high end cookware, utensils and appliances. The list goes on.

Our Town Home features a suite sized master bedroom with it's own private full bathroom and lanai. It also has a ground floor bedroom and private lanai, a real benefit for anyone with limited mobility. A third bedroom is located upstairs, across from the mater bedroom. Additionally, a top-of-the-line raised air mattress is available for additional sleeping accommodations (maximum of eight guests). This would be far more comfortable than sleeping on a fold-out sofa bed or futon.

The Princeville Resort is located on Kauai's North Shore where you are just minutes away from exploring her many wondrous attractions such as pristine, secluded beaches, the best Kauai has to offer. Beautiful Anini beach is just a 10 to 15 minute walk from our Puamana town home. Great snorkeling, windsurfing, board surfing, or swimming are just minutes away by car as well. A hike on the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast reveals unparalleled vistas of ocean, mountains, waterfalls, and sheer cliffs that will stay with you forever. And for the golf enthusiast, Princeville is the home of two world class golf courses, the Maikai Course and the Prince Course ranked #1 in Hawaii by Golf Magazine.

My wife, Rachel, and I first visited Kauai in the early eighties and just got hooked. We dreamed that one day we might be able to make Kauai our permanent home, and we were fortunate to actually make this happen in January of 2006. We bought Sandpiper 234 in October of 2002 as a vacation rental (studio, 2 bdrm 2 bath, 3 bdrm 3 bath), and in 2004-5, spent over six months completing a total renovation. It was a lot of work but the end result was extremely satisfying. We bought Puamana in August of 2010, and after a more modest renovation, placed it on line as a 3 bedroom 2 bath townhouse vacation rental. It was at that time my daughter, Regan, came on board to assist with property management.

Regan and I keep busy managing both properties, when we're all not dancing, playing softball, Pickleball, or at the beach. One of the advantages of living here on Kauai and offering vacation properties for rent is that any issues with units that may arise are addressed immediately and decisively through direct communication between the guest and either me or my daughter. There is no go-between management company in the loop to delay any action that may be required. It's a win-win for everyone.

Karl and Rachel were responsive and gave very clear, helpful instructions about the AirBnB. It was great that we were able to park two cars at the villa and that it was so close to the Kalalau Trail, Queen's Bath, and Hanalei. The villa was clean and comfortable. There was no A/C, but there are lots of ceiling fans. There were plenty of puzzles and games at the villa, which was an added bonus. We had a great stay here.

Very well located and all furnished condo. The unit is a bit outdated but had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and area was lovely. The rooms were spacious and the fans helped a lot as it gets very humid. Thanks for a nice stay.

The area is really beautiful. The unit is really private and so nice. It does have a great Grill outside. And all the beach chairs and even one surf board. Inside the house is exactly as described and very comfortable. No AC but fans in all rooms and in January was very comfortable all day. Even cold at night. There is a pool for the condominium and we did not used it. But it is nice to have. Close to Anini Beach. You can walk and it is a beautiful walk. But coming back is a bit hard. Uphill. We drove to Anini and we really enjoyed. Great beach for us. North of Kauai is very special and I like it so much. I can't recomend it enough. The Puamana unit is really great. Comfortable and has a great feel to it. I will be back and I'm looking forward to it. So can't recomend it enough. Clean so comfortable. Spacious and private. Can't ask for more. The place was clean, well equipped and pretty much what we expected. Beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. Beaches are a bit far, but that was pretty clear from the listing. Don't assume you can walk down to the nearest beach, the path is pretty treacherous. The only two things that could use work were the WiFi connection (wired internet seemed ok but impossible to get smartphones/tablets connected) and some very small worn-out fry pans.

This is an older townhouse in a nice area. Karl did a good job communicating all info right after I booked. He left good instruction for everything. The place is clean and well stocked with kitchen amenities/gadgets. Princeton is a nice area and worked well for us to travel All around the island.

The hosts were very thorough with introducing the space once the reservation was confirmed. They sent detailed notes and helpful tips for the area well in advance of our stay-- very comforting for a planner like me! The only hiccup upon arrival was that one of the parking passes was missing (seems the previous guest mistakenly left it in their car!), but they resolved it so quickly and got us a temporary pass. Really wonderful service. I would certainly recommend this listing to anyone who wants to visit the north shore. It was very close to the beach, the store for groceries, and many of the hotels/resorts (we had a wedding to attend down the road). Very convenient. I do recommend taking advantage of the north shore shuttle to get around to Ke'e beach and Hanalei-- you can access it from any of the major resorts so you don't have to worry about parking. Leave the rental car at the condo!

Karl&Rachel's condo was perfect for my family of 6. Karl even provided an air mattress when my mother arrived. The location was great for visiting the North Shore of Kauai. New fans made the place nice and cool. The kitchen was well equipped as well. Some of the furnishings could use updating but it is still a good value. We enjoyed our stay especially because of the friendly neighbors!

One of the advantages of living here on Kauai and offering vacation properties for rent is that any issues with units that may arise are addressed immediately and decisively through direct communication between the guests and me, the owner. There is no go-between management company in the loop to delay any action that may be required. It's a win-win for everyone.
