A double room in a bright, happy, comfortable home, tucked away on a peaceful lane in the heart of Central. Soho restaurants and bars 2 mins walk. Fully functioning, small kitchen with delightful terrace off - city views. Shared bathroom complete with bath and shower. A refuge from the chaos.
The apartment is very bright with a European feel. There is a living area with large dining table and bookshelves with books to browse. It is more homely and lived-in than minimal and modern. The room has a double bed with firm mattress, bedside cabinet, air-con and chest of drawers. Hanging space is available. Towels and bedding are provided, and also shampoo and body wash. The apartment is not suitable for party animals (sorry), would probably work for those who are looking for a relaxing space to chill between exploring the city, or a convenient base for a business trip.
You will have use of all the shared areas in the flat; kitchen, living room and terrace. The kitchen is available for breakfast and snacks. There is a large fridge, and wi-fi is accessed throughout - even outside on the terrace.
I will usually be around when you come to stay, and am happy to welcome you into my home. I can provide basic details for bars and restaurants, beaches and hiking. I enjoy meeting new people and am happy to help.
The best way to get here from the airport is by train. The Airport Express takes about 25mins and cost $180hkd return. A taxi from the airport would be in the region of $400hkd each way.
If you take the Airport Express train, alight at Hong Kong Station - the last stop. Directly in front of the train is a taxi rank where you can get here from between 30-50 hkd.
Ask the taxi driver to take you to Elgin St in Soho and then to continue to end of street. Then ask him to turn down Old Bailey Street. Chancery Lane is the first lane on right as you drive down Old Bailey Street.
The Midlevels escalator is a 2 min walk and connects through Central Hong Kong.
The nearest MTR (metro) station is a 5 min walk from the apartment. Caine road is the nest street up where numerous buses pass heading both east and west. Taxi's can be stopped at the end of the lane (10 metres).
There is much to see on foot. Hollywood road and antique shops is 2 mins walk. Wan Chai is 20 mins walk, Sheung Wan is 10 mins. All of the main areas of Central are easily reached on foot.
The Star Ferry which takes you to Kowloon is a 10-15 walk, or a few minutes in a taxi.
If you like nature there are numerous hikes in and around the Peak area or further afield. The Botanical Gardens are round the corner off Caine Road - good for a stroll, a quick run or chilling on a bench. And the start of the Peak morning trail walk is 15 mins from the flat.
My daughter and I just came back today from Hong Kong where we had a really wonderful time .
Lorraine is a magnificent hostess with a great feeling for the people who stay with her.
The flat is small but comfortable and furnished with many affectionate details. We just loved Lorraines patio on which we spent many delightfully hours after exploring Hong Kong.
Even though Lorraines flat lies only 3 steps from Soho `s many restaurants and bars, it is very quiet and peaceful.
Peaktram, Central MTR and Midlevel Escalator are in walking distance - just perfect !
Wish , we could have stayed much longer ! Thanks, Lorraine !
Lorraine was a very gracious hostess. She made sure I had everything I needed as soon as I arrived after a long trip. The flat is in a great location, so exploring was easy. I wish I had more time there.
Lorraine was wonderful and our stay was great. Her apartment is very cozy and well decorated, and the patio is truly awesome. It's perfectly located in a great part of town with tons of restaurants nearby, and also close to the Airport Express train, which is the best way to get to the airport. Lorraine was even kind enough to walk us down a few blocks to show us the neighborhood. Overall, awesome experience and only wish it could have been longer than one night! My only one tiny little complaint would be the bed was a bit firm for my taste, but nonetheless I slept perfectly fine so wasn't a problem at all. Thanks Lorraine for a great stay!
Lorraine was the perfect host! She gave us a guide and map of HK, bought us some yummy croissants from the french bakery and also accompanied us for most of the way up to the peak. We felt very comfortable in her flat which is located in Soho (Central) and an easy walk to the restaurant and bar area as well as to the MTR. You can also walk up to the peak from there. The room is a bit smaller than appears in the photo, but the flat is just fine, very nicely decorated and has a lovely terrace. Thanks Lorraine! Hope to see you on our way back to HK.
Friendly, welcoming and helpful host. Cosy room in an nice apartment, very well-located. Recommended!
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION - HOST HOST HOST.
My first time to Hong Kong on a two day trip. Lorraine is a perfect host and can guide you around HK with ease having lived in the city for a long time. The location is brilliant and with Lorraine's inside knowledge you won't be dissapointed. My first time using airBNB so very happy with the experience.
Lorraine's place is charming and uber well taken care of - for those who appreciate a cozy homey feeling, absolutely recommended.
Plus, check in with Lorraine was super easy and she was always responsive/flexible.
Room was prepared with fresh towels when I got there and I had a note with wifi password and Octopus card if needed for transport.
Location is perfect for those that wish to stay in Central area.
Thanks Lorraine. We had a great time in your flat. Location is great, the apartment is very well furnished and Lorraine is a friendly person. For the Italians: she speaks excellent italian!!
