A double room in a bright, happy, comfortable home, tucked away on a peaceful lane in the heart of Central. Soho restaurants and bars 2 mins walk. Fully functioning, small kitchen with delightful terrace off - city views. Shared bathroom complete with bath and shower. A refuge from the chaos.
The apartment is very bright with a European feel. There is a living area with large dining table and bookshelves with books to browse. It is more homely and lived-in than minimal and modern. The room has a double bed with firm mattress, bedside cabinet, air-con and chest of drawers. Hanging space is available. Towels and bedding are provided, and also shampoo and body wash. The apartment is not suitable for party animals (sorry), would probably work for those who are looking for a relaxing space to chill between exploring the city, or a convenient base for a business trip.
You will have use of all the shared areas in the flat; kitchen, living room and terrace. The kitchen is available for breakfast and snacks. There is a large fridge, and wi-fi is accessed throughout - even outside on the terrace.
Interaction with Guests
I will usually be around when you come to stay, and am happy to welcome you into my home. I can provide basic details for bars and restaurants, beaches and hiking. I enjoy meeting new people and am happy to help.
The best way to get here from the airport is by train. The Airport Express takes about 25mins and cost $180hkd return. A taxi from the airport would be in the region of $400hkd each way.
If you take the Airport Express train, alight at Hong Kong Station - the last stop. Directly in front of the train is a taxi rank where you can get here from between 30-50 hkd.
Ask the taxi driver to take you to Elgin St in Soho and then to continue to end of street. Then ask him to turn down Old Bailey Street. Chancery Lane is the first lane on right as you drive down Old Bailey Street.
The Midlevels escalator is a 2 min walk and connects through Central Hong Kong.
The nearest MTR (metro) station is a 5 min walk from the apartment. Caine road is the nest street up where numerous buses pass heading both east and west. Taxi's can be stopped at the end of the lane (10 metres).
There is much to see on foot. Hollywood road and antique shops is 2 mins walk. Wan Chai is 20 mins walk, Sheung Wan is 10 mins. All of the main areas of Central are easily reached on foot.
The Star Ferry which takes you to Kowloon is a 10-15 walk, or a few minutes in a taxi.
Other Things to Note
If you like nature there are numerous hikes in and around the Peak area or further afield. The Botanical Gardens are round the corner off Caine Road - good for a stroll, a quick run or chilling on a bench. And the start of the Peak morning trail walk is 15 mins from the flat.
The flat is non-smoking, however the terrace off the kitchen is a lovely spot for a smoke while contemplating the Hong Kong city view.
This is a great location in the center of Hong Kong. The rooms are nice and clean: Lorraine is a very welcoming and helpful host. My girlfriend and I had a very good time.
Lorraine was a great host and I had a wonderful stay. The flat was comfortable and on a quiet street, important in a busy city like Hong Kong. I felt at home. Also Lorraine is amazing helpful. I had a very early flight when I left and Lorraine looked up information for the Airport Express Train to make sure that I wouldn't have to take a cab. I would recommend any of my friends to stay here and will stay again on my nest trip to Hong Kong.
Lorraine is a very friendly and flexible host and the place is very charming and in a great neighbor hood. I would definitely book again, if I had the chance. Thank you!!!
Lorraine was a lovely and open host and I felt like I was more like a personal guest to her. She was very thoughtful and even had ready a travel card for me to top up and use. The flat itself was cosy and Lorraine has obviously put a lot of work into making it home over the last few years. The flat is small (which is normal for HK standards) but was perfect for my needs of using it as a base to duck in and out of. I was sad that the weather was rainy for the couple of days that I stayed as the terrace outside was really special and would have been great for a cup of tea and a book. The bath cum shower had good water pressure and was nice and hot, but I think it might be a challenge for people needing a little more space. The location of the flat was excellent - very close to the escalators and the bars and restaurants of Soho. I think that I actually stayed in the second bedroom which was not the one in the picture, but it was similar to the room in the picture so no major issues there. Would stay again!
I think just one word needed to explane Lorraine and her place. Perfect!! Perfect host, perfect palce for everything I expected.
I would definately stay her place even it is in Scotland. :) Next time we should drink SOJU together!! :-)

로레인은 정말 친절한 호스트였어요. 저희 커플을 위해 하나부터 열까지 준비를 해주고 도움을 주려 애썼습니다.
혹시나 홍콩을 방문하신다면 주저없이 추천합니다!

I am Scottish and have recently moved from Hong Kong to Glasgow to study. I am in year one of a four year degree in Human Nutrition & Dietetics, and so far the course is wonderful. I also teach yoga and work part time as a hairdresser. I love cooking and gardening and like to spend time in the kitchen. I speak English, Italian and can muddle by in Spanish - almost. My favorite thing to do is cook for friends and spend the evening eating and chatting over a good glass of wine.
