The area is in an up-scale neighborhood and is extremely quiet. It is a very secure villa. The property is fully fenced in with an electronic controlled gate entry.
It is best to have a car rental, or make early arrangements with a cab for picking you up and taking you around.
" Thank you for such a lovely place, the view was breath taking. The apartment was beautiful and we liked that we could see the view from every room. , Absolutely great for the four of us.
I enjoyed my coffee in the morning and a cool drink while I watch the sunset. The kitchen had all the appliances that we needed and was very modern. The Air Conditioning in both bedrooms was a plus.
The place is very spacious and very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.
.We went to the beach at Pigeon Island by Sandals, it was a short drive so I was able to go back and forth easily and take in the night life at Rodney Bay. Spinnakers on the Reduit Beach was a great location for dinner..
We will return next year!!!!!!! "
We stayed at the apartment over the Easter holidays and had a really relaxing time. As previous reviews have said it is a bit removed from closest town ( Rodney Bay) so hiring a car is a must. However, this suited us perfectly and the views from the balconies in hosts photos are true to type, so make it worth the drive.
The apartment is actually one of several on the middle floor of a larger home which is situated on the top floor. The bottom floor is also separate apartments. Access is gained via a small side door. However, we experienced no noise from our neighbors, above, below or adjacent & there is ample space for parking behind the security gates as stated.
On our arrival finding basic supplies in the kitchen, tea, coffee, milk, juice, bananas was a nice unexpected touch.
Travelling with x2 boys teenage boys we had reservations about them sharing the second double bed - but upon request the host kindly added a second bed into the room and although tight still enough room to negotiate between both beds & made for very happy boys. The conditioning in the rooms ensures restful nights sleep.
We had a few hiccups when we first arrived re; malfunctioning appliances however, a response from the host was extremely prompt. He then arranged for repairs to be carried out the next day so it didn't affect our enjoyment of our time there at all.
Be aware that you will need to spray for mosquitoes prior to retiring at night to avoid being eaten - kind of expected everywhere in the Caribbean but worth mentioning. Beds are comfortable & clean with extra change of linen available. Only down sides is that we aren't fans of satin pillow cases especially in the heat, but thankfully we found a couple of cotton ones which made it bearable. Kitchen appliances are basic & functional as is bathroom & wardrobes etc. Expect cooler showers in the morning until the sun warms hot water tank. Evenings not a problem.
So to summarize for cost of apartment it is money well spent. If you expect high end luxury them expect to pay more. This one has great views, plenty of space, secure, airy - a great start to our holidays!
The place is quite far from the airport in Vieux Fort, so plan for either a rental car or expensive taxi ride accordingly. The air conditioning in the bedroom is great, and the view is pretty impressive. Rodney Bay is close by, and has some solid restaurants. If you're planning on doing the piton hikes or the sulphur springs, however, this place may be too far north for you. Also, this place is kind of removed from a lot of the island, which, if you want peace and quiet, is perfect.
My wife and I used this place as a springboard for the L'Express ferry to Dominica, as (currently) you cannot find direct flights to Dominica from the US. The Ferry leaves out of Castries, and this place is a ~15 minute drive from there, which for us it was perfect.
