Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as you would like...we know the area as well as anyone.
There is no smoking indoors. Smoking is allowed anywhere outside the home. I have a very large, covered driveway in case of poor weather.
On weekends I am typically out late watching living music or working one of my own events. I have a separate entrance on the opposite side of the house so noise is not a problem. The kitchen is right next to my bedroom, so, I ask that it be used only when I or other guests are not sleeping in the evening. Lafayette has plenty of late night food choices. I am usually up early in the mornings, even on weekends so if you want to cook breakfast before checking out that is not a problem.
If you choose to use the bikes you will be responsible for any damage other than normal wear and tear (flat tires, etc.). Bike locks are provided so you will also be responsible for cases of theft at $75 per bike.
Nice room, clean, convenient location. More of a hostel/B&B environment versus private home, which contributes to a great price on the room but also a reduced sense of privacy, although the other house guests were very nice and respectful. House managers Cindy & Juliette both greeted us and made us feel at home. The wine and chocolate were a very sweet gesture too.
Off street parking was a nice amenity as well, though we felt the neighborhood was safe to park on the street.
The house is a great fit for students or single people traveling or couples not needing a private getaway experience.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Have to share bathrooms with other house guests...but there are two bathrooms..one with a shower, the other has a bathtub.
We did not meet Toby, but we did not have problems with gaining access.
House is comfortable, and close walking distance to the center of town.
Toby's place was great! Fantastic spot, close to down town with all the trimmings you could want for your stay. Communication was excellent, the room itself was clean and comfy and as described.
Would recommend to all friends and family passing through Lafayette in a heart beat!
The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. I never met Toby but it was easy to navigate without anyone being there.
There is a full kitchen, shower, washer dryer, wifi and bikes.
The hot water didn't work when I arrived so I called the number for the house manager. They came to fix it within 20 minutes, very impressive!
More than worth the price, highly recommended.
Sorry about the hot water issue and thanks for being so understanding. One of our other guests left the water hose on in the back yard and as with older homes, it effected the plumbing for the entire place. All we had to do was turn off the hose. Please come back and stay with us again! Toby
There was a mix up upon my arrival where the room I was supposed to have was occupied. Toby's resident manager was very kind and accommodating. He offered me another room with comparable amenities.
Paul - Mix-ups will occasionally happen, and I appreciated your gracious attitude and cooperative spirit. We hope to host you again one day - and as you saw, we highly recommended you as an Airbnb Guest because "Attitude is Everything" and we loved yours. - Joe Paris, Resident Manager

I am a full-time University Professor of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. I also teach tennis part-time and own a company that promotes live music events. I was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana but I have been living in Lafayette most of my life and enjoy giving suggestions about what to do and where to go in the area.
I also enjoy cooking, running, lifting weights, yoga, Tae Kwon Do, and most of all attending live music events.
One of my latest goals is to travel as much as possible. I have backpacked 10 countries in Europe staying mostly in hostels and I most recently traveled for 2 months across the Western United States staying in over a dozen airbnb homes including an RV, a tepee, and a completely solar-powered dome shelter in the Texas desert!
My latest adventure took place this Christmas Break (phone number hidden)) as I toured 3 countries in South America, including Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
I also enjoy talking about and showing off the area where I live ... Acadiana.
