Interaction with Guests
I run my graphic design business, Dada Design, from home so I'm around if you need anything. When my work load allows, I love to spend time with guests and get to know them better, but I'm also sensitive if guests prefer their privacy. We've found texting is the perfect way to communicate with guests during their stay so a verified mobile number is very useful.
There is a superb supermarket 2 minutes walk away that stocks a wide variety of local and specialist produce and has an excellent cheese counter, deli section and off licence. Kendal's bustling high street is one minute's walk away where you'll find plenty of shops, a library, the post office and several banks. There's a Costa on the main high street and Caffe Nero is in the marketplace. It's worth exploring Kendal's historic yards where you'll find many of our more individual retailers and businesses.
The market town of Kendal lies just outside the spectacular Lake District National Park, has plenty of pubs, cafés, takeaways and restaurants, 2 museums, a leisure centre with swimming pool, golf course, the Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the Brewery Arts Centre with a theatre, cinemas, art galleries, bars and a regular live music programme (visit the breweryarts website). There are plenty of places to explore with lovely parks (Kendal Castle, Serpentine Woods and Noble's Rest) and pleasant walks along the river Kent right on our doorstep. There is a street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a farmer's market once a month.

A beautifully inspiring place to stay in Kendal. Plenty of space to chill out and a luxurious bathroom to enjoy. An excellent experience all round.
We had a perfect stay at Caryn and Mervs place. The apartment is beautiful with everything you could need a more. They were very welcoming and gave great tips for restaurants. We loved the Castle Bakery. Great location right next to an excellent supermarket and walking distance from everything in the town.
Had an amazing time at the colour house. Outside like looked a like film set and inside matched up. Spotlessly clean, very good provisions and fresh bread on arrival. Caryn was warm, genuine and welcoming. Couldn't recommend the place more
We had a lovely time in Kendal, staying with Caryn and Merv over the Easter weekend. This was by far one of the best stays we've had on Air BnB - Caryn has thought of everything you could need or want and the apartment is well furnished and designed with lovely touches here and there that will make your stay blissful.
We struggled to find the place as it's a little tricky if you're driving with the one way systems (our own fault due to misreading instructions due to fatigue) but Caryn offered to come and pick us up and even made us banana bread!
The place is immaculate and cosy, the bed comfortable and the bath an absolute delight. If you have a car and are doing walks in the Lake District, this is the perfect stay to come back unwind and relax (as you can avoid the touristy towns of Ambleside and Windemere). Will definitely be staying here again.
Made to feel very welcome and the apartment was fantastic! Freshly baked bread and the rest of breakfast were delicious. Would definitely recommend.
I would like to thank Caryn for a great stay. Directions given by Caryn were perfect and very much needed. Once arriving the setting is great being very central in Kendal but also tucked out of the way of traffic. The view over the town rooftops is lovely. We found the apartment spacious, clean and comfy. Obvious care had been taken of presentation and decor. Caryn and her husband made us feel at home and recommended a great restaurant for our evening meal. We only stayed for one night but all had a good nights sleep and a very sumptuous bath, much appreciated. Although the apartment does not have a full kitchen the breakfast ingredients Caryn provided along with her delicious home made bread was more than adequate. The additional advantage is no washing up! Caryn took care of this. All in all a great place to stay.
Apartment is amazing, lovely stay even with bad weather. We were made to feel really welcome and hosts are only a text away, but yet they respected your privacy. Great location and amazing breakfast, with your own little kitchen complete with fresh homemade bread! Couldn't ask for more, thy even replaced the feather pillows due to our allergies!
