The Space

Welcome to our 1954 homestead cabin. We spent several loving months rehabbing this original homestead cabin of yesteryear. We are very happy we can share this piece of history you!

The cabin sits on the middle of 5 acres with amazing desert views. It is ready for the summer months with air conditioning and in the winter you can stay warm with inside heat or outside around the bonfire. The hot tub under the star filled sky is for all months of the year. Off of the sunset porch, you will find a fenced area for sun bathing, hot tub privacy, or your four legged friend. Hang out with the quail, roadrunner, rabbit, owl, lizard, desert tortoises and listen to the coyotes on the sunrise porch as you look out onto the open natural desert landscape.

Less than 15 minutes to Joshua Tree National Park, Pioneertown and Pappy and Harriets is 20 miles, Joshua Tree Retreat Center 10 miles and the Dhamma Vaddhana S. Cal Vipassana Center is 15 miles away. Let us know what you are interested in and we will point you in the right direction.

Getting Around

You will need a vehicle while in Joshua Tree. We will send you clear directions to the cabin and you will find it is 0.75 mile off the paved road any car can easily travel including small cars like a Fiat, Honda Fit, Chevy Spark and so on...

Other Things to Note

For photo shoots / movies and anything else similar contact us first for permission.

We are committed to a healthy home and overall environment that is why we use natural cleaning products, heat our water with an on demand hot water heater, use grey water for native desert plants, utilize an ultra high efficiency toilet that only consumes 0.8 gallon per flush, and heat and cool the cabin with an inverter (mini split). We also offer our guests non toxic natural soaps, and organic coffee. The water in the cabin is safe to drink and provided by Joshua Basin Water District.

House Rules

Arrival time is anytime after 3PM. We suggest arriving during daylight hours. The desert is DARK at night but the cabin is well marked for night time guests. Departure is 11AM.
Please no smoking in the cabin. If you must smoke, smoke outside and far away from the cabin.
We are committed to environmentally friendly practices, low waste being one of them so we ask that you recycle using the bins supplied. Please remove your trash and place it into the trash bins outside across the drive or there will be $50 charge for leaving your trash in the cabin.
As you may have noticed we have a low cleaning fee (for linen primarily) and there isn't a pet fee or a pet deposit. This allows us to keep the rate reasonable for everyone so we ask to please leave the cabin as it was when you arrived.
