Your very own spa

Relax with the outdoor shower and jacuzzi.
PRIVATE cabin on 5 acres surrounded by the wide-open desert sights and sounds. Star shows from the hot tub, morning coffee & sunrises on the sunrise patio. The sunset patio is fenced for hot tub privacy (birthday suit level) and your dog. The cabin is set in a very sought-after location. It is close but far enough away for peace, privacy, and dark, starry nights. The village is only 8-10 minutes away, and Joshua Tree National Park's west gate entrance is only 15 minutes from the cabin.

The space
Relax, reset, and soak up the sun and fresh air. Grill on the Weber, grab the yoga mats, strike your best downward dog, and enjoy a shower outdoors. Soak in the hot tub after a long hike and enjoy a bonfire on cool desert evenings while gazing at the stars. You will find plenty of outdoor seating, including a hammock, an old school couch glider, chaise lounges, and a table and chairs for outdoor dining, after you prepare food on the Weber grill

You will have all of the basics for cooking and preparing food, including a countertop convection oven large enough to fit a full-sized pizza/ chicken, and an induction hot plate. You will also find organic coffee and tea, a Vitamix blender, a food processor, and an Omega juicer for those who enjoy green smoothies and fresh juice. Want to grill? Grill tools are available for you, along with spices, utensils, plates & bowls, spoons, forks, and knives, all at the cabin as well.

Inside the homestead cabin, there are numerous relaxing spots, including the comfortable mid-century Heron rocking chair. A mountain view from the table makes it a perfect place for eating, writing, or surfing the web. The full-sized Wall bed is neatly tucked between the two large closets. If you need additional sleeping options, the comfy sleeper sofa can convert into a queen-size bed. We also have an air mattress, too, if you want to sleep outdoors under the stars or spread out in the cabin. Oh, and if you forget your yoga mats, we have two here for you.

The cabin bathroom features a tall rain shower head and provides the hottest water you could want, thanks to an efficient on-demand water heater. And don't worry about bringing your non-toxic shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash, we have them here for you to use.

This is an original historical homesteader cabin built in 1954 during the Small Tract Act in southern California. The cabin has been respectfully rehabilitated and updated for comfort and convenience. We have maintained its OPEN FLOOR PLAN, so the wall bed is in the common space between two closets. There is also a queen-sized sleeper sofa. Feel free to send us a message if you have any questions.

Neighborhood highlights

Joshua Tree is full of artists, free-thinkers, hipsters, mixed with Marines from the military base in neighboring 29 Palms and desert rats who grew up in the area or have been in the desert long enough to add plenty of character to the Joshua Tree mix. It makes for a good variety of personalities! In the village you can find locally owned cafe's, boutiques, thrift stores, plenty of antique stores and art galleries. Route 62 is flanked with unique shops from Morongo toYucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and down to the town of 29 Palms.

The cabin is 8 minutes from the downtown village of Joshua Tree and because of this we get very little light pollution at night (perfect for star gazing). The cabin is in a great location far enough away but close enough to several attractions. It is 1.5 miles from Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, The Integratron is 13 miles and Giant Rock is right around the corner from there. Less than 15 minutes to Joshua Tree National Park west gate entrance, Pioneertown and Pappy and Harriets is 20 miles, Joshua Tree Retreat Center 10 miles and the Dhamma Vaddhana S. Cal Vipassana Center is 15 miles away. Let us know what you are interested in and we will point you in the right direction. There are so many things to do in the area

Nomad always seeking out new adventures. A Coloradan at heart, via NYC, now happily settled in the magical desert of Joshua Tree, a place as unique and vibrant as NYC, but in its own wild and quiet way. I'm so grateful to call this place home and honored to share my favorite desert spots with guests. As a local, I love helping others make the most of their stay...hidden hikes, local eats, or stargazing tips. Just ask, I'm here to help!
