The room above is my office. I make it a point not to use it when I'm hosting guests. Unfortunately, my son thought that you were out and went in to get some work done during his day off. My sincere apologies for this.
However, to put things in perspective:
I accommodated your requests & extended you courtesies.
I have a no pets policy, but I allowed you to bring your dog, who you left unattended for many hours during the days and then again for hours in the evenings.
You didn't ask, instead, you informed me that you planned to arrive 2 hrs earlier than my posted check-in time. I again agreed to accommodate you.
Because of Saturday's inclement weather, I extended an offer of a later check-out on Sunday.
With no expression of appreciation for these courtesies, you instead found a way to be critical, with a complaint that no other guest has ever had; and all were far less demanding.
Despite your reassurances to the contrary, your dog does bark when left unattended for long periods of time in unfamiliar surroundings and understandably so. Yet it never occurred to me to complain.
Dogs bark, life happens around us. We don't live in a vacuum.
At the end of the day, your demands notwithstanding, I left you a good review because you left the premises in an acceptable condition.
So, although this is very disheartening, as your review was not at all reflective of the whole picture, I'll simply wish you well.
