BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC CHARLESTON, SC. EXCELLENT LOCATION ! EXCELLENT PRICES ! DIRECTLY ACROSS THE 3/4 MILE CAUSEWAY FROM SULLIVAN'S ISLAND PRISTINE BEACHES, IN BEAUTIFUL OLD VILLAGE MOUNT PLEASANT. Located in a very safe area a mile to Sullivan's Island Beach, 6 miles to downtown, 12 miles to the airport, 2 miles to Shem Creek’s famous seafood restaurants, 4 miles to the Yorktown at Patriot’s Point, and 1 mile to Pitt Street Bridge, this condo offers a King size Rice Bed (w/ plush high end matress) in bedroom as well as a top line queen sleeper in LR. The full bath with extra deep tub/shower is located thru BR. The living area is open concept with new, large comfy denim sleeper (beautyrest) and wing back chair, plus 45" flat screen, small kitchen fully equipped, and dining table seats 4 comfortably. A stack washer/dryer is in hall closet. **The condo is located next door to our large 2BR townhouse which sleeps up to 8. Many groups love to rent both, as the location is superb.
Although there is no view from inside, outside we are at the beginning of the island causeway, over the gorgeous the Intracoastal Waterway. Walk on across (just under 1 mile) to Sullivan’s Island’s gorgeous beach and fun pubs, or 1 mile the other direction to Old Pitt Street Bridge, a 1000-foot pier, is a favorite biking, walking, crabbing, fishing destination on the Intercoastal Waterway with incredible sunsets overlooking downtown Charleston. A full shopping center, 2 grocery stores, and 11 restaurants/pubs are less than 2 blocks walk. There are five top golf courses within 10 to 20 minutes drive and many more 30-45 minutes (and a challenging mini-golf across the street : )
One of our best features is that we are located in a much lower traffic area than most of the Charleston Area. Mount Pleasant’s Old Village is accessible to downtown and beaches without entering the main traffic areas of Hwy 17 which have become a burden to our city. Directions will be direct and simple and involve few complicating factors. This can make a serious difference in your experience. It was built in 1975, renovated in 2008. The Village is the nicest area, but all the brand new places are miles up the HWY.
We provide start-up paper goods, soaps, etc, plus spices and cooking extras.
** We have 2 adult and 1 or 2 children's bikes available for a small additional upkeep fee.

I live just under a mile away and am easily accessible to guests by phone, text, and email.
Old Village Mt. Pleasant is safe, beautiful, quaint, fun, and easy access to all things Charleston, unlike many nice areas that are bogged down by traffic.
By car: beach is under 5 min, 10-15 min to Downtown, 20-25 min from airport. 1 block away we have the Carta bus end stop #1 with Downtown Visitors Center being other end #7 and a 35 min beginning to end time. 2 blocks to many restaurants, pubs, grocers, shops, entertainment, live music, and more.
Other Things to Note
We are Pet friendly with a specific pet cleaning fee of $30-60p, to ensure allergy free for next guests. We are unable to accept cats as it is not possible to accomplish allergy free without thousands in cost.
-PETS ONLY WHEN PET CLEANING FEE COVERED!! NO SMOKING in condo AT ALL; take it outdoors, please. Please close door when smoking on entry porch, or it goes right inside. Please blow your smoke towards outside to minimize any going into ANY of the 3 doors on our entry landing, or go downstairs.
- NO PETS WITHOUT SPECIFIC from Owner. Additional pet cleaning fee will apply.
- Charleston has a Noise Ordinance: 10pm weeknights; 11pm weekends. (Bring the fun inside and keep windows and doors closed, and the bass turned down : )
-Any gatherings over 6 people must be specifically approved.
-! PLEASE NOTE FIRE EXTINGUISHER ON COUNTER and LEAVE IT THERE !
-Persons under 21 years of age may not consume alcohol on premises.
-Close windows and doors when operating Air/Heat; also when leaving
condo to protect from sudden rain storms which are common in this climate.
-Use doormat on front porch as needed, along with rugs, to clean feet and minimize
SAND/dirt getting EVERYWHERE.
-CIGARETTE BUTTS ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. DO NOT THROW
OVER RAILINGS. DISPOSE OF ALL CIG BUTTS.
-Clean kitchen dishes, utensils, etc. before check-out. You may leave a dishwasher load running. Please DO run it, if there are dishes in it.
-1st thing check-out morning strip sheets only and begin washing sheets. Get all towels in front of/beside washer/dryer, and TRY to toss sheets in dryer and start towels washing. (Do towels last) . Leave 1 key on counter, and 1 in keybox.
-Trash dumpster is located at far end of parking lot. Trash is your responsibility! Empty again upon departure
Susan was very easily reached and sent an email with contact information and everything we needed to know about the apartment. Her pictures and descriptions were very accurate and we were very pleased with our stay. The apartment was beautiful and very clean, comfortable, and quiet. We will definitely keep her in mind next time we're in town! For those visiting the Charleston area for the first time, you must understand the lay of the land. Mount Pleasant is not downtown Charleston and it will take approximately 15 minutes to get to downtown Charleston. For us, this was perfect. We wanted to be close to both the beach and downtown. This apartment put us in exactly that location. Mount Pleasant and Sullivan's Island also have numerous restaurants, shops, and grocery stores that are really worth checking out. Thank you very much!!
Susan was responsive to emails and text messages during our stay. The location of the property was perfect. It was very close to the Sullivan Island beaches and dining, as well as close enough to Mt Pleasant malls and other dining. Location to Shem's Creek was fabulous. The property is very close to an extremely busy road and traffic noise was very noticeable through the closed door. The condition of the property, while very clean, was average.
Susan had a binder with all the expectations listed, and a variety of shopping and dining favorites, as well as a map of the various locations on Sullivan's Island.
We had nowhere near enough time to do "everything" in Charleston, but we did get to explore the area and dine at some great places, which was the intent of the trip.
We would consider staying again in the future.
This was a great little condo for our visit. The pictures and description were accurate. It was very welcoming when we arrived - lights on and music playing. The king size bed was comfortable and the living room was a good size for our family of three. We liked that Chromcast was available to stream content from our mobile devices so we could tap into our Netflix account, etc. The location is very convenient to the beach, Mt. Pleasant and Charleston. Two grocery stores and several restaurants are within walking distance. The condo is located on a fairly busy road and we could hear the traffic somewhat, but it wasn't a problem - certainly didn't keep us awake. Susan was very easy to work with. She had a notebook of ideas for restaurants and fun things to do. This was our first airbnb experience, but it won't be our last!
We had a great time in Susan's condo! Bars and shopping were close and we walked to many places. An uber ride was less then 20mins and easy to get to the beach. At our arrival we were informed that the wifi wasn't working and she had it fixed before we got there in make sure we had internet access, and also let us know when they were finished and we could go in.
The flat was nicely decorated and very clean. Susan was very accommodating and let 4 of us stay there and my 2 yr old son. Communication was good in advance of our arrival with Susan responding to our queries quickly. To get to the bathroom you had to walk through the bedroom, but she did warn us in advance and it was not a problem. There was plenty of cutlery and crockery. The location was great, easy to get to everything. And a good bar/restaurant over the road with live music (Buddy Roe's shrimp shack). Check in was at 4pm, but the cleaner only finished after 5pm which was slightly frustrating but she was new and hadn't cleaned it before. I would recommend this flat as a great place to explore Charleston and the wider area.
This condo was the perfect location for our Charleston-area getaway. The location is right on Ben Sawyer so it took no time to get to loads of shops, bars and restaurants. Also, you can walk in the neighborhood behind the condo units – the homes are quite lovely in Old Village. The condo is the perfect size for one person, a couple or even a couple with small children. The condo does come equipped with all the basics you would need – a few notches up from an extended stay. While the parking lot is small, parking isn’t an issue. I was there for quite some time so I got to say hello to some of the neighbors – all were very nice. Some of the neighbors smoke while sitting on the benches in front of their units and the smoke comes into the condo, but, this only happened a few times while I was there. (I think residents are supposed to sit on the back patios to smoke, and not the front). I will say that while this condo was PERFECT for my needs, if you are looking for a unit with a view, granite, high-end finishes, etc., this may not be the place for you. But, if you want a quaint beachy-feeling condo in a FAB location, this may be the ticket. I cannot wait to return!
