We live in a lovely, quiet neighborhood where people love to take their walks and enjoy the views. We enjoy gardening and have a profusion of color during the seasons in our rock gardens in the front and back. We have neighbors who are friendly and are always ready to help.

During your stay
We look forward to greeting you and welcoming you to our home. You have a quiet, private home away from home, where you can relax after your days' many wonderful activities. We look forward to getting to know you and the things to see and do that you are interested in. We also honor your privacy should you wish a quiet time to relax. We are usually home to assist you, answer any questions, or help you plan your itinerary.

We have great information on Harpers Ferry as your vacation destination. Explore the fascinating Native American, Colonial, French and Indian War, Revolutionary War, Lewis and Clark Expedition, Civil War, and African American history, charming shops and restaurants, and many beautiful nature areas in Harpers Ferry, which include views of West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland (you might see the soaring eagles). We are happy to recommend great restaurants and shops to explore.

Great outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, rock climbing, horseback riding, golf, visits to local wineries and breweries, historic and scenic drives, living history tours, nature walks, Civil War battlefields, trails, and reenactments, museums, living history workshops, horse and wagon rides, private park guide tours and ghost tours - all of which are very popular with visitors to Harpers Ferry. Stroll through the historic shops, hike a section of the Appalachian Trail, and bike or hike the C&O Canal National Historical Park trail and towpath.

There are three river outfitters in town that provide exciting water sports, guided and unguided trips, and equipment rental. Fishing is very popular and there is a great outfitter in town, for both guided and unguided trips, equipment rental, and a well-stocked fly fishing shop, which also includes spin casting gear. We also have fun information on activities for families. Another outfitter in Lower Town has hiking gear, rents bikes, and provides rides to trail-heads, when requested ahead of time.

Should you wish to further explore the region, we have wonderful information on the things to see and do along The Journey Through Hallowed Ground, which stretches the 180-mile long, 75-mile wide, Route 15 - Colonial, French and Indian War, Revolutionary War, and Civil War corridor, known earlier as "the Old Carolina Road". This historic area runs from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to Frederick County, Maryland, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and south to James Madison's Montpellier home, and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello home, near Charlottesville, Virginia. This area has the greatest concentration of Civil War history of any area in the U.S. As a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA), I am happy to share with you the many exciting things to see and do in this four-state Civil War corridor. This area yearns to be explored.
