About this listing
Master suite with its own deck right on Ames Lake. 15 minutes from Redmond, 35 minutes from Seattle, near hiking, biking and skiing in the Cascades. Queen bed in a large bedroom. Private bath with soaking tub. Private dock for swimming or fishing! Massage right here, too, booked in advance.
Sleep in an antique sleigh bed. The room is well lit in the daytime, and has light blocking curtains for a good night's sleep.
Our house is quite large, as are the rooms in it. The guest bedroom looks out over Ames Lake. Take a nap on the private deck or a deep soak in the private bathroom.
The living room has enough room for yoga, plus a great fireplace and piano (or three...). The kitchen is fully equipped, and we love to share meals or let you have at for your own creations.
We have an extensive library, sun room and other amenities which make this a perfect getaway or a place to just get a restful night's sleep.
There are three cats on the premises, though the guest space is cat-free.
The suite has one queen bed, but if you are traveling with friends or children there are other sleeping spaces available in the house. The most people we've had overnight was 17, but that involved sleeping bags on the floor....
This space is accessible to wheelchairs (one bump at the front door), and those with limited mobility. Bathroom has grab bars and a seat available for the shower.
In addition to the private room, deck and bath, as our guest you will have access the great room (music, yoga, lounging and reading), the large kitchen, the yard and the lake.
Interaction with Guests
How much we interact will totally depend on our schedules and your desires. I work in Seattle several days every week, but I also work here at the house as a Bodyworker/massage therapist. The house is big enough that you can just disappear if you want to, and we can when we need to, also!
Ames Lake is just a short drive from Redmond (15 min), Bellevue or Kirkland (20 min) and a longer drive from Seattle (35-50 min). Many people living here commute to Microsoft and Nintendo. It is so close, but feels so far away once you get here.
Ames Lake is small - 2 miles around by road, and quiet - no internal combustion engines. It is a great place to swim June-September, and peaceful to sit next to year round.
Stores are a short drive away - either to Redmond, Carnation, Duvall or Fall City - as are some excellent restaurants.
There is no convenient public transport here, and cab rides are expensive. It is a destination biking area, though, with both great on-road and off-road options. If you wanted to just come sit by the lake for a few days I'd be happy to pick you up in town. But if you planned on going anywhere else you will need a car. There is plenty of parking on site.
Other Things to Note
I'm a licensed massage therapist, with over 25 years experience. I have an office here in the house, so you could get a treatment and then trundle off for a nap!
All I expect is that you be a good guest, not too loud, not too intrusive. Enjoy the quiet. Swim at your own risk. I have to say that, but it is a very safe and friendly lake for swimming roughly June-September.
The recently remodeled bath, with soaking tub, walk-in shower and dressing room, has lots of room for stretching out.
