About This Listing
A cozy, spacious 3rd floor space. Some guests have called it "Retro" when in fact it is "original." There is a seating area with a roll-top desk, bedroom with full-size tempurpedic mattress, bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower and a small kitchen.
Looking for Denver hotels? Consider our bed and breakfast Denver suite! This space is on the classic third floor of a house built in 1889. Entrance is private from the ground floor. The bed is full sized and comfortably sleeps two. There is a claw foot bathtub with shower in the bathroom that is shared only occasionally when the front office is being used during daytime hours. Seating area with couch and roll-top desk. Kitchen includes sink, coffee pot, cube refrigerator and microwave. The floor is carpeted and walls freshly painted. Lots of light during the day. Air conditioner and fans in case of hot weather. Steam radiators in the winter. Price includes local taxes of 14.75%.
Although our house is on a busy street, the house is quiet in a tree-lined, historic neighborhood. Our next door neighbor is a church across the alley. Parking is available on the street. The house is within easy walking distance of major bus lines. There is one of the best ice cream shops across the street as well as a friendly tavern serving great food, and dry cleaner just across 13th Avenue. Just a couple of blocks east is the Congress Park neighborhood where locals eat breakfast at Zorba's or Pete's Kitchen on Colfax and choose either fine dining, pizza or Chinese take-out at dinner time. But there is no lack of variety in restaurants in all directions. Cheesman Park and the Botanic Gardens are two blocks away. The State Capital and Downtown are just moments away via bicycle or cab. We are 21 blocks (1 mile) from the Art Museum, the Central Library and the Colorado History Museum. And of course there is easy access to the foothills and mountains. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is 20 minutes away. Ski areas are as close as 60 minutes from our house. Our bed and breakfast Denver suite has charm that many Denver hotels lack. Whether you are coming to town for business or pleasure, you will feel welcome at our home.

Other Things to Note
We are closer to town than expected.
No smoking or pets. Respect the household. No hard drinking or drugs, a 6 pack or bottle of wine is OK. Quiet time is 11:00 as I have to work in the AM.
Cynthia's home was as described and overall I had an enjoyable stay - though I wasn't actually there very much but to sleep and get ready for my outings.
Upon arrival I was a little unsure where to enter (couldn't quite recall what the description had said) - the front or side/rear. After taking a walk around, it seemed the big front gate where the large fluffy white dog was surveying my presence was the correct entrance and Cynthia eventually appeared with a smile to greet me. There were 3 flights of fairly narrow carpeted stairs so anyone with a large heavy suitcase (especially if you're tired like I was), do take note. The suite was well ventilated & had all the necessities, including a small kitchen though no window covering so lacking some privacy. I would have also preferred the bedroom to have a darker blind or curtain only as I had to take a daytime nap but that's a personal thing I suppose. The only small issue I had was with the toilet which clogged twice (being a 125 year old home) - so as long as you have the plunger handy (ask Cynthia), you should be fine ;)
She also had everything of note laid out on the bed and had kindly helped connect me with a hairstylist who I got along nicely with and who joined me that evening at my music event.
Although the dog barked most times I saw him, he was very docile and friendly and really just wanted affection :)
I didn't get to peruse the neighborhood unfortunately since my time was very limited but it was in a good location to get to the main areas of town.
I would certainly suggest Cynthia's home to anyone passing through Denver for a short or extended stay.
Our short stay in Denver was great. Cynthia greeted us and responded to all our questions. She gave us a great suggestion for a”local lunch spot”.
The third floor area was cozy and immaculate. There was a bedroom, small kitchen, bathroom and sitting room - all included in the price of a bedroom.
Cynthia was very welcoming in every aspect of my trip. She had the room ready much earlier than expected and allowed a little bit of a later checkout which allowed me to have quiet meetings.
Her place was clean, tidy, and much bigger than I could of expected.
Highly recommend! Cynthia's room was perfect for my stay in Denver and she was a pleasure to communicate with. I wish I could have stayed longer!
I have stayed in quite a few Airbnb rooms and condos and this one was undoubtedly one of the very best in several ways. It was charming, I was well received easily and warmly, and it was 5 minutes from my daughter's apartment. Cindy's positive energy is evident everywhere from the decorations to the amenities available. The "grand old lady" (the 1889 house) has her own quirks which were quite easy to work with. I plan to return in May when I again visit Denver.

About the Host, Cynthia
I have lived and worked very happily in my house for 21 years. It is just recently that I have decided to create spaces to share with visitors. I work as a Jungian psychotherapist in an office on the 3rd floor. So, during the week there will be a few people sharing the bathroom and waiting room that are part of the 3rd floor suite. Otherwise, you will have private access to the entire floor. Our 2nd floor unit is a 950 sq.ft private apartment with a well-stocked kitchen, a formal dining room, large living room with deck and a bath & bedroom behind French Doors. There is also a pull-out full size couch/bed in the living room and an Aero bed that can be moved wherever might be convenient for the 5th guest. The mattresses are Tempurpedic on both floors. I have a Samoyed named Bud who keeps all of us safe and smiling. He has a space in the front yard and stays on the first floor with me. When I recently traveled to Marseille, France, I had the great good fortune to stay in a local home and learned first-hand how great it is to have a personal connection away from home. I have also been to South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe as well as Mexico. I love meeting new people and seeing the world. Our many Airbnb guests bring the world to us.
