This two bedroom guest house offers a cozy interior and its own great views. Play on the property's 32 acres or explore the Northeast Kingdom and surrounding areas where you will find family friendly activities, hiking, biking, skiing, antiquing, and a thriving local food and drink scene. It is a great place for individuals, couples and families to relax and get away from it all!

The space
This lovely log cabin is a great place to hang out any time of year. The first floor has a cozy living room, a full bath, a kitchen, dining area and a bedroom. There is also a loft bedroom that has two twin beds and enough floor space to accommodate an air mattress or two if extra sleeping space is needed. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you would need to prepare your meals including a keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and stove - pots, pans, dishes, mixing bowls and cutlery. The covered porch is a wonderful place to watch the sunrise or to relax with a drink after a long day of hiking, biking or kayaking. A large picture window gives you the same view from inside during the cold winter days. While the pictures show a fireplace, it is not working at this time.

There are plenty of outdoors spaces to explore during every season-including an apple orchard and 32 acres of woods -which makes this location especially great for guests with children and dogs. There is an outdoor fire pit as well as great hill options for sledding and snow shoeing in the winter- sleds and snowshoes are available for borrowing.
The cottage is attached to the main house but it has its own entrance and porch and is completely private. You will never know anyone is next door unless you need something -in which case I am right there to help.

Dogs are welcome to come stay and enjoy the property along with you Please know that there are two very friendly golden doodles (Lewis and Ruthie) who live on the property,. They are used to welcoming guest dogs in their space . They are "free range" dogs so they are out and about - Lewis acts as the Mayor of Dunne Dreamin and Ruthie is his Chief of Staff which means that they may come greet you as you drive in and check in with you during your stay.

Guest access
Guests have a separate entrance with a private covered porch and plenty of parking. Guests are free to explore the 32 acres of woods and rustic trails that includes a lovely apple orchard and sitting area with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

Other things to note
Hardwick is one of those undiscovered treasures of a Vermont town that is far away from the hustle and bustle of it all but close enough to skiing (Jay Peak, Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Stowe and Burke Mountain), hiking, craft breweries and distilleries (Hill Farmstead, Lost Nation, Rock Art and Caledonia Spirits) the new Highland Center for the Arts, and restaurants to make it a wonderful place to visit. Please note that the nightly rate includes your Airbnb fee.

It is about a mile walk to the center of town where you can get a great breakfast at either the local diner, the bakery or the food coop. Lunch and dinner options include two pizza restaurants, the Village Diner, and the Scale House - a wonderful new restaurant with a great vibe and terrific food. . Set out to Stowe (40 minutes), Morrisville (20 minutes), Montpelier (40 minutes) or St. Johnsbury (35 minutes) to find other great food and entertainment options.
