Pierre is a great host and the house ir amazing!!! Easy to catch buses and trams! I love my trip to Rome and hope to be back soon.
Such a great stay with Pierre in his lovely flat in the vibrant neighbourhood of Pigneto. I highly recommend this great place and very nice host
Rome at Pierre's was fantastic. We arrived so late because of our flight itinerary, but Pierre waited patiently for our arrival around 12:30 am! He greeted us, told us a little about the apartment, asked if we needed maps or an overview of how to get around (and even if you dont need any he leaves some guides in the kitchen) he then gave us the key and said enjoy your stay, but not before telling us that he had bought us a liter of milk and a few pieces of pound cake for breakfast since we arrived so late. What a surprise and what a gesture, we were so thankful since we couldnt really wait to fall asleep and not think about where to eat ( there is a pasticceria on the same block, super close to the apt with so many delicious things). The apt is a little off the beaten path, luckily the tram runs right in front of it and with that tram u can get to termini which can get you pretty much anywhere, so that is very convenient. We went for new years and the taxis tried to rip everyone off for getting home late, so we walked from termini to the apt, 25 minutes very simple if you can read a map. The one night we walked around near the apartment was a little sketchy, the neighborhood is fine but for some it may feel weird around there. Overall know where your headed and dont be afraid to ask people for directions. The apt has wifi so i could plan anything around the apartment prior to leaving. As for walking to the central and all the sites, it takes a solid 25 min from the apartment to the roman forum/colosseo area, start walking and then hop on buses if you want, buses go all over the place so learn them if you can (and you can pretty much hop on and not even pay most of the time). Rome is an absolutely stunning city, with plenty of sites and plenty of great food. If you asked if id ever stay at pierres again, id say yes 100 out of 100 times. Hes so nice, provided anything we needed, and was easy to contact if we needed to. And dont forget, the apartment itself is very comfortable and kept up beautifully. Thanks for the apt Pierre! Thanks for providing a great place for us to enjoy Rome! Hope to return soon!
We had a great stay in Rome - Pierre was really helpful with tips about where to go/how to get to places.
Apartment was clean & just what we needed for our stay.
Tram stops right outside so the apartment is well connected, although public transport doesn't seem to be the best most reliable in Rome.
All in all - a great experience!
Pierre's place is quite centrally located, (couple stops by tram 514 from Rome Termini). We actually walked to Colosseum from our place (30-40 min), just another way to explore the city, which was fun! The apartment is clean, big and totally sufficient. The neighborhood is like the urban area in New York or Philadelphia, looks a bit scruffy but seemed totally safe. It is very close to the restaurants areas in Pigneto, which we really enjoyed eating there, delicious and cheap and definitely cater for locals, not touristy. It was the best food, wine, and prices we found in 4 days in Rome. Also, has 3 pretty big supermarkets if you want to cook at home (which the apartment is also fine for and has some spices and all pans and utensils and cooking supplies ready to go). Not to mention Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Espresso and some other amenities.
(P.S. Don't go to Bar Amore on the road going down to the Colosseum unless you want to be gouged for coffee, ice cream, or anything else on their menu.)
The internet was not working in the apartment while we were there, but Pierre spent lots of time working on it and trying to fix it. In the end, it wasn't his fault but the slow response of the phone company since were there on a Sunday and Monday. To remedy the situation and help us access the internet in an alternate way, he went above and beyond anything required by him and enabled us to get access a different way, which we appreciated a lot!!! I have no doubts he already has the internet working now and in the future. Pierre is quite dependable and I recommend him wholeheartedly.
Overall, it was a great place to stay in Rome.
It was really nice to visit Pierre's apartment. Everything was just the same as on pictures. Building is on 8th floor ( last floor) and below is little bit noisy road (main road). But we didn't open any windowas, so it wasn't loud at all. Flat is clean, spacious and nice. Great for 2 people. Colloseum is something like 2,5km from that apartment. When we where there we were going everywhere by feet, so the flat is in really nice place. Pierre pick up for us by a car and showed whole apartment. Also he gave us a map of Rome. He was polite and kind. Everything was good, If i would have option to come back there i will do it !
Great value for money, the apartment is located at a 20 min walk from Termini and 15 from Vittorio Emmanuele Tube station, with trams stopping across the road. Service is slow on weekends and packed in the mornings, so you're better off walking at those times.
The neighborhood can have a rough feeling upon arrival, however daytime is perfectly fine and we didn't have any problems when coming back late at night. It is a great place to get a good feel of what Rome is like outside the tourist circuit. Supermarket and open food market are a 5 min walk from the flat, as well as shops and restaurants.
The flat is very clean and nice, perfect for a couple. Shower is great and the bed is spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen has an oven, stoves and the basics to cook your meals. Towels and a hair dryer are also provided.
As other reviews mention, there are several busy roads right below the flat, it can be noisy in the morning rush hour however double glazing blocks most of the noise; make sure you bring a good pair of earplugs if you are sensitive to noise.
The buzzers downstairs are displaying names rather than numbers, so make sure you check the right name with Pierre beforehand.
Pierre answers very promptly to messages and is helpful in providing information and tourist tips about the city. It was a pleasure to deal with him and I would recommend the flat to a friend.
Great apartment which matched the description. Nearby area has a Brooklyn up-and-coming feel to it. Pierre gave us good recommendations on where to eat locally! Apartment is on top floor so the view was lovely and the elevator saved our knees. Only downside was wifi wasn't working for any of our devices during the trip. Would stay here again, thanks Pierre!
We had a good stay at Pierre's apartment. The air conditioning worked well and we thought the bed was very comfy. Also, the apartment is nicely located - not central, but not too far away from the center either, and we got to see a cool part of Rome we would have otherwise missed (Piazza di Porta Maggiore). However, the place was not as clean as the other reviewers have described it (the kitchen especially). All in all, okay for its price. Plus, Pierre was very nice and there were no problems in our communications with him.
Great apartment and absolutely fantastic value. It's very quick and easy to get into the city on the tram, and from there you can navigate your way very simply around all of Rome on the metro and tram network. Pierre was a great host and was very helpful in providing us with all the information we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
