The Mediterranean Villa
Old World house built in 1923.
Built in Spanish style, the old world 2B/2B house offers serenity and privacy.
Enjoy the fresh fruit from the garden. Dine outdoors in the shade in the bougainvillea lined courtyard. Friendly hens run freely on the property and will provide you with fresh eggs in the morning. Nubian Dairy goats may also be enjoying their corral.
Someone will come in the morning and release the chickens from the coop so they will wander the property; and also let the goats out of the barn so they can enjoy their corral. If one of the goats is producing milk, we or one of our friends will come and milk once or twice a day. No one needs to be home.
Unwind and watch the stars at night in the salt water spa/hot tub. When it's blossoming, the Night Blooming Jasmine is unforgettable.
The Mediterranean villa is located in the Arbolada, a short walk to town, restaurants, and the bike and horse path.
French doors, hardwood floor, white plaster walls overlooking the garden create an old world ambiance.
This corner bedroom also has a private entrance, queen sized bed and hardwood floors. The windows open up to a garden shaded with oak trees.
The living room features beams, plaster walls, a fire place and Spanish tile floor.
The dining room overlooks a serene shaded garden. It is decorated with French country furniture and a hardwood floor.

returning for the second time, our family had a truly perfect experience. the home is warm and welcoming from the moment we arrive, as well as clean and beautiful. we adore spending as much time at the villa as possible....just feeding the animals (goats, chickens and now....the barn cat!), exploring the grounds, cooking in the dream kitchen, settling in at the fireplace, enjoying the hot tub....the hosts are just about the most warm and lovely people. they left us all kinds of goodies (coffee, yogurt, incredible mint chip ice cream from a local shop, honey from their own bees, and freshly squeezed orange juice). we can't wait to return to the villa and visit with everyone again. thank you!
Randy and his family have the most extraordinary house, especially if you have young children. We were welcomed with their favorite local ice cream, delicious biscotti, and whole beans for French press coffee. Their kids even made us a welcome banner to greet us. I cannot thank them enough! Our toddlers enjoyed using their many baskets for picking lemons for lemonade ( sweetened with honey from their bees!!) fresh eggs from the " ladies" ( their chickens) and feeding the adorable goats. Our kids jumped on the trampoline, played in the kids playhouse, and loved the tree swing and hammock. This place is a gem. We are so thankful for our amazing post Christmas adventure!!
Randy was a warm and welcoming host, inviting us to enjoy his fabulous house with all its special amenities, ranging from two sweet goats and a flock of chickens that laid delicious eggs, to a playful kitten, a trampoline that kept our grandson entertained for hours and a beautifully equipped kitchen. The fridge was stocked with yogurt and ice cream; a bowl in the kitchen held citrus fruit from the orchard; there were fresh coffee beans, tea and condiments for our use and the bedrooms had two terry bathrobes each, as in a luxury hotel. This house was perfect for our family post-Thanksgiving holiday, a magical place for our two little grandsons and a peaceful, spacious and elegant villa for my daughter and her husband and my husband and me. We hope to return next year!
Randy and family were exceptionally nice people and their beautiful cozy place in Ojai was just the thing we needed for a quick break from the city. Our daughter Noor, who is almost 3, loved looking at the eggs in the "chicken scoop" and feeding "green pellets" to the goats.
The only problem was her mini-tantrum when we had to leave -- she just did not want to go! :)
I would highly recommend this property for a family getaway. We'll definitely be back.
The house and grounds are beautiful. We had a lovely stay and all of the special touches were appreciated.
Our stay was really delightful. This home is very special: simple and beautiful, with joyful vibes and beautiful light. It feels you are back in California in the 1930s but with all modern amenities (internet, music speakerphones throughout the home etc...). Our kids had a blast jumping on the trampoline, feeding the hens and collecting eggs, making fresh lemonade from the house lemons. We all enjoyed the Jacuzzi in the evening. We loved barbecuing and eating outside. Ojai has also so much to offer in terms of outdoor activities as well as bookstores and great restaurants. We all wished we could stay longer!
Our second stay at the Mediterranean Villa in Ojai was even more lovely and memorable. Aside from the overall spaciousness and relaxing vibe of the house and grounds, we really appreciated all the activities we could partake in with our son; the trampoline, swings and of course mingling with the chickens and goats. Sitting at the outside dining table watching the Ojai Pink Moment was stunning. Falling asleep at night to the sound of frogs and crickets was heaven, especially after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A canopy of grand old oaks makes it feel about 10 degrees cooler. We enjoyed cooking, exploring the meandering property and interacting with our animal friends. Thank you Randy and Kasia, we can't wait to come again!
