YOUR COTTAGE IN THE "CHÂTEAU DE LA GRÈZE"
We offer an independant house in the left wing of the Château de La Grèze, a 17th Century castle, totally renewed by its owners.
This is a 50 square meters house, perfect to welcome comfortably up to 4 persons.
Large spaces and volumes, old materials, makes it a wonderful place for your holidays.
A large and covered stone terrace allows you to have lunch in a very charming environment or to have dinner hearing the sounds of the countryside.
The use of the castle's swimming pool is free.
The living-room is large and bright: it has a sofa bed, very comfortable, perfect for 2 persons (one couple or two children).
Above the living-room, a platform has a big bed for two persons also (one couple).
The kitchen is fully equiped (gas + oven + washing-machine + dish-washer + fridge).
The bathroom, spacy and renewed, has shower and toilets.
Your are in Dordogne, in the heart of Périgord, 20 km south of Bergerac, close to the vignards (Bergerac, Monbazillac, Pécharmant...), in a country of medieval villages (Issigeac, Villeréal, Beaumont, Eymet, Monflanquin, Monpazier...) and castles (Bridoire, Biron, Bannes, Monbazillac...).
The Dordogne's Valley, its castles and charming villages are very close too.
You can also discover the Vézère Valey and its prehistoric sites (Les Eyzies, Lascaux...)
During summer, many festivals and celebrations in all the neighbourhood villages allow you to go out every nights if you want !
Augustin was a kind and gracious host and his apartment was the perfect place to call "home" for a few weeks. Small, clean, and simple, the space has everything you could need and is conveniently close to the Metro. My only regret is not being able to stay longer!
We stayed in this cozy flat for eight nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The place is very comfortable for two people and the little balcony just outside the window is a nice touch. Augustin was a very attentive host and put much effort into making sure that we were satisfied with everything. He was very flexible with our schedule when checking in and out of the room. The free wifi in the room worked well and moved at a fair speed. At times we did have trouble connecting to the wifi but that could have been the device we were using. There are two metro stations that are easily accessible and right up the block from the building. We also recommend that you visit Le Courcelles, a restaurant that is at the corner in front of the metro stop of the same name. Overall, the flat became a home away from home in Paris for us, and a nice means to escape the crowds and tourists at the end of a busy day.
Exellent host, exellent location and place, best value for money. very flexible person. Reccomend without any hesitation.
Merci Augustin et très bientôt
Chatura & Cathy.
Merci.
This flat is terrific. I visit Paris with some frequency and I have stayed in many lovely places but this is my favorite. The place is lovely, clean, efficient, comfortable, warm, serviced by a lift, sits on the top floor of a wonderful building with many lovely architectural features in the public spaces. The fold out bed is very comfortable. There is no street noise or other intrusion. The Metro is 4 minutes from the door, but you can walk to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in about 15 minutes. It also sits only 5 minutes from the amazing Parc Monceau which is a Parisian time capsule – you will be transported back to 1955. There are bakeries, groceries, cheese shops, chocolate shops and other stores close by. If you need internet I suggest you visit the Orange network store on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées close by the Arc de Triomphe (English spoken) and invest in a “Domino” for about 45 Euros. This will let you get on the network anywhere in France with your laptop. Finally, while I never met Augustin he was the perfect host, making check in easy. I could not be more pleased with my experience at this little flat. A+++.
I adore my 2 weeks living in this real Parisien flat. Everything was just like in the pictures. I was impressed by the smart design of a small app where you can find all that you need for staying even for a long period of time. It is located in two minutes from the tube station and velolib station in a luxe district (17 arr). And from the window you can see the small peak (very small but still) of the Eiffel Tour.=)) The host was great and flexible, so the check-in and check-out hours were not strict. I would like to come back=).
My boyfriend and I liked Augustin's apartment very much. It's not very roomy but convenient for a couple. In the apartment we had everything we needed, I mean dishes, towels, even soap and shampoo in the bathroom and so on. The location is good, not far from the Arc de Triomphe, about 15 minutes. Thus you live not far from the most of Paris attractions and can get it by foot if you are, of course, not against walking. There are two metro stations nearby and a lovely park for them who like jogging. Augustin gave us all information we needed and quickly answered all our questions. All in all we can recommend the apartment for everyone who doesn't want to spend much money on the accomodation and at the same time wants to live in the centre in a nice and cosy flat.
My husband and I stayed in Augustin's apartment for two weeks in early September. He was not able to meet us when we arrived, but gave us very clear instructions for how to find and enter the building and the apartment. He was very flexible with arrival and departure times, and the apartment location is convenient to the AirFrance bus line 2 that travels between Étoile and Charles de Gaulle. I was in Paris for a conference at the Palais des Congrès, and it was a fairly short metro trip there from Courcelles.
The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe in the building. The concierge introduced herself and seemed to know that Augustin rents out his apartment. The neighbors were friendly (there are dog owners and smokers on the same floor, which was not an issue for us but could be for some).
The apartment was cozy for two, but it was a nice place to come back to at the end of a long day. We were very grateful for the elevator to the 6th floor! We slept soundly on the pull-out couch, and Augustin provided larger pillows for us too. The washing machine wasn't working while we were there, which was our only disappointment, but it sounds like it will be fixed before the next guest arrives.
Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would recommend Augustin as a host. Thank you for such a nice visit!
Augustine was a great host. The apartment was very clean and light and cosy. He was very flexible on check-in and check-out times which helped me a lot. The subway is just a few meters from the apartment and there was also a taxi station around the corner which was super usefull as it can be difficult sometimes to get a cap in Paris. I was working for one week in Paris during my stay and was happy to have this nice place to come home to.
