Home away from home, really... Staying for the second time in a row is the proof. I recomend Brooke as a great host that knows very well how to make her guests feel at home and give insights to the best places around to eat-out and drink. Her great reviews say it all. The wine treat is just a plus. Location is also excelent.
Room was great, exactly as described. Location was close to public transportation and a few great places for food and drink. Thanks, Brooke. Will definitely recommend to friends in the futre.
We greatly appreciated the pre-trip info that she sent on travel options from the airport, including time and cost - totally removed the stress of arriving in an unfamiliar city.
Brooke arranged a convenient pick-up location for the key since we arrived when she would not be home. Our room had a bottle of wine, numerous SF travel guides, and a list of her favorite places (restaurants, bars, etc.) with google map locations.
Brooke's home is between the Castro and Mission Districts. It is very centrally located and is perfect for heading out on long walking trips in every direction. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area.
Her home is wonderful. Very neat and clean. Loved her decorating style. Just a very nice, restful place to relax at the end of the day. There were two of us, so the private bath was great because we didn't have to worry whether we would get in the way of our host's routine or work schedule. We used her well-equipped kitchen on a few nights, and her washer/dryer before we moved on. It felt as comfortable as being at home.
Brooke grew up in the area, so she has good suggestions on places to go. She lent us her family members pass to the science museum at Golden Gate Park, which we totally enjoyed. She is a busy person and was not home a lot, but she's lots of fun. We loved our late night or early morning conversations.
Overall, we had a great visit - don't know why anyone would stay in a hotel anymore.
Wonderful Location -- we walked to Golden Gate Park, Buena Vista Park, and all over the Castro and MIssion Districs. Very clean and beautiful interior. Just a little oasis of beauty and calm to rest between jaunts all over SF. Brooke is a gracious and dynamic host -- was very helpful on advice with local restaurants, groceries, etc. Bed was comfy and hot water etc. was excellent. Brooke made all the logistics easy. We are already dreaming of a return to San Francisoco -- and Brooke's Place!
Brooke's apartment was a dream! First of all, the pictures don't do it justice. The space is clean, large, and immaculately decorated. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. Additionally, the common space is large and welcoming. We hardly ever saw Brooke, so it felt like we had our own place. If we needed anything, she responded to texts in minutes. When we did see her, she was charming and super accommodating.
Centrally located, the apartment is surrounded by cute bars and restaurants. We mostly drove or took Ubers, but it seemed like public transportation would've been easy enough. Just blocks from Dolores Park. Parking can be a little tricky, as it's max 2 hours for non-residents M-F on most nearby streets. Apparently you can get a parking pass for a fee from the city, if you need.
The bedroom is a little small if you have 2 big suitcases, but overall, I can't recommend this apartment enough!
Brooke was a great host, welcoming and friendly despite our late arrival. Her house is beautiful and the room and bathroom are spacious. This is a perfect place to stay, good location; sleek, modern and inviting house; quiet with good space. Highly recommend.
Everything was pretty much perfect! Brooke is a great hostess. Totally recommend! :)
