We had high expectations after reading past reviews, but they were far exceeded! Phil & Catherine have clearly honed every detail of the experience. My wife & I were delighted by all the special touches, such as the considerate treats they provided, or the thoughtful reference book in the room. The estate was stunningly beautiful, and the guest quarters offered the privacy and easy-access we were looking for. The location was perfect, because it's far enough removed to feel secluded, but also a quick drive to downtown Arroyo Grande, SLO and the beaches. Plus it's just up the road from some amazing wineries. We loved our stay and will definitely return next time we come to the area.
We unfortunately only booked two days at this beautiful Chateau Edelweiss. Phil and Catherine were very nice and helpful. They made our short stay a memorable one. The guestroom is very well furnished and also equipped with everything you need. The view over the hills is amazing. Also not far away there's a little street with all kinds of cozy Cafés and restaurants.
Phil and Catherine have two very lovely dogs and a sweet cuddle cat :-)
For our last night we tried the hot tub and watched the sunset. It just made our last night perfect. We wished we had more time and hope to come back soon.
I loved my stay at Chateau Edelweiss! The guest house was in great condition and very clean. We loved having access to the outdoor pool and hot tub. It was amazing to relax and enjoy the view from the hot tub. The hosts were excellent and were easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend the Chateau and love to return.
Catherine and Phil were wonderful hosts, helping us plan our trip even before we arrived (hiking maps, wine guides, beach recommendations etc.) and they were gracious while also giving us our privacy. The house is beautiful, our favorite parts being the tennis court, hot tub, pool, and bathroom which are all well-appointed. The house looks just like it is presented on AirBnb and the view from the hill is amazing, offering views of the ocean as well as the surrounding hills and is really quite something to marvel at, especially at sunset. Definitely hoping to return for another stay at some point in the future. Thanks again, Catherine and Phil!
Catherine and Phil were very welcoming and provided a lot of great suggestions of things to do once they found out about our interests. Their property is beautiful and the pictures of the outdoor space do not do it justice. The guest space is attached to their own residence, on the bottom floor, but is completely closed off from the primary residence. It is a great use of space and I would describe it as "updated rustic". Well furnished, lots of light, and comfy. We look forward to staying with them again when we are in the area!
We had a fantastic time here—Phil & Catherine instantly made us feel at home (as did their two dogs!) We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub & fantastic view from the house, as well as the comfortable room.
Everything about this place, from the location to the amenities to (especially) the hosts, bordered on surreal. I couldn't really hope for or imagine anything better. If they'll have me, I'll be back.
