You may rent one upstairs bedroom sleeping 2 people (1 Queen bed OR 1 day bed and trundle) for $80/night (Friday & Saturday), $60/night (Sunday-Thursday). For both rooms, we charge $20/person for each additional guest. We do not rent the upstairs bedrooms separately to two groups or individuals for the same night.

Guests have access to a private bathroom upstairs, shared kitchen, living room, deck and basement. Coffee and tea are provided. Wifi and TV/Netflix/DVD are available. Lots of games, including a foosball table in the basement. Lucy, our boxer, is a therapy dog and is wonderful to cuddle with or take on a walk.

We live in a quiet, cozy neighborhood with easy access to hiking trails, downtown Brunswick and Bowdoin College.

Getting around

The bus/train station is just under a mile from our house. Downtown Brunswick and Bowdoin College are also within a mile and are walking/biking distance.

Other Things to Note

Libby's Market around the corner has great lobster rolls. They stop serving food at 6:45pm.
We highly recommend Cote's for ice cream (only in the summer), Gelato Fiasco for gelato, Wild Oats Bakery or Little Dog Cafe for breakfast or lunch, and Frosty's Donuts for donuts.
El Camino ( $$ Mexican-Dinner only), Frontier ($$$Local), Scarlet Begonias ($$Italian), Tao Yuan (Top 10 Chefs in the US) ($$$Asian Fusion), Henry & Marty's ($$$Local), Enoteca Athena ($$Greek&Italian Wine Bar), Trattoria Athena ($$$Greek&Italian), Pedro O'Hara's ($$Irish-Mexican), Flipside Pizza ($), Ebeneezer's Brew Pub ($Beer Garden & Pub Food), Lemongrass Vietnamese ($$),Taj Mahal-Indian ($$), and Asian Garden- Asian fusion ($$) are places we like for lunch or dinner in Brunswick.

Solo Bistro ($$$) and Beale St. Barbeque ($$) are great restaurants in Bath (10 min away). The Dolphin in Harpswell has a fantastic view of the water and delicious food ($$).

The art museum and arctic museum at Bowdoin College are fantastic.

Simpson's Point is the closest place to see the ocean. Popham Beach and Reid State Park are great places to be in the ocean. A fun place to jump in a lake is Sewell Pond on route 127 just past Bath.

  • Katie and Joe are a lovely couple. We had a bit of miscommunication about my entering the house since they weren't home, but it was quickly resolved, and I was warmly greeted by their sweet dog Lucy! I booked this place because it had a private bathroom and it was so reasonably priced. (It was nice to have extra money for other activities.) This listing is good for frugal dog lovers who don't mind dog fur in the sheets, dust bunnies in the corner, and a bit of debris on the sink. I learned that I prefer cleaner accommodations, so I'm willing to pay more in the future. However, Katie's recommendation of Libby's Market for lobster rolls? Spot on!!

  • Great place to stay!

  • We had a great stay for our Bowdoin 10-year reunion! My dog Clyde was very happy to meet Lucy and play in the fenced back yard. Joe told us about the best new restaurants in town and took us to a dog play group at Farley Field House on Saturday morning. Easy parking, great instructions for wifi, extra towels, tea and coffee - everything we needed!

  • Katie and Joe are wonderful hosts. They're friendly, welcoming, and really helpful about things to do in the area, and their home is clean and comfortable. Their sweet boxer mix Lucy is irresistibly cute, and the queen bed is super comfy. I would definitely stay here again!

  • I didn't see joe and Katie because they were out of town. They made it very easy for me though with a hidden key and instructions. It was perfect, clean, and exactly what I needed for a one night stay. It is not walking distance to Bowdoin, but a very short drive.

The only surprise was that the shower was downstairs in the main bathroom that appears to be their main shower. It was okay though, and may have only been surprising because it was my first airbnb experience. The upstairs bath is just a sink and toilet.

  • My two teen-aged children and I stayed in the two upstairs bedrooms when we came to visit Bowdoin College. We had a very nice stay in warm comfortable rooms. Kate is a professor at Bowdoin so she was able to answer our questions about the college even before we got there. She thoughtfully suggested that we eat breakfast in the cafeteria at Bowdoin which was an excellent idea. The breakfast on campus gave us a chance to see the students of Bowdoin and get a feel for the school.

  • My recent stay was my second time at Joe & Katie's place. The house is nice, tidy, and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again.

  • Katie and Joe were very nice and their place was great for us--completely comfortable and very convenient--the perfect place to begin a fall colors trip. In addition it is very close to Brunswick which we loved--great coffee and pastries nearby...lots of interesting restaurants.
