Un accueil chaleureux, expérience inoubliable, riad de qualité, bien placé à 10 minutes de la place. On a profité un maximum, avec de bons conseils de jihane et son couscous copieux ! Le Hammam traditionnel a été une révélation pour nous... A refaire ! Merci Céline.
Celine is the owner of the Riad, however, this Riad is run by a great girl called Jihane. This lady is worth her weight in gold, making sure we felt at home at all times. She showed us around the Medina, gave us prices for basic things and pointed out a few places to go.
The riad has an arrangement with a driver called Abdou which picked us up at the airport and took us on day trips.
The riad is set in the middle of the medina, a short walk from the main square. We felt very safe and away from the madness that the medina can be. The rooftop is a great place to be to catch some sun rays and enjoy the birds chirping away.
We loved it and hope to come back one day.
This Riad was AMAZING! If you plan to visit Marrakech, Celine's Riad is the perfect place for you.
I'll admit that we were a bit unsettled when we first pulled into the city - everything was moving so fast and we all felt a bit out of our comfort zone. The driver, Abdou, picked us up from the airport and we quickly became friends with him. He offered advice and reassured us that we were in good hands.
Abdou dropped us off into the hands of Jihane and she became our right hand woman. She took us through the street (I will be honest that the walk was a bit daunting - everything was just new to us) and down to our riad.
Once we opened the front door, we knew we were home. Our riad became a great, cozy, secluded safe place in the busy city of Marrakech.
Celine offered a number of good places to go eat so our first night we went to Le Marrakchi. It was great! Take advantage of the board games and fireplace upstairs; we had a scrabble, wine and fire night and it was simply delightful.
Jihane gave us such great advice throughout our entire trip. She set up for us to go to an authentic hammams, she had masseurs come to the riad one day and she even ordered a great meal for us the night we did not feel like going out. She also took us to a great spot where we bough authentic rugs for a good price - to buy and to get shipped back to the states.
We took a day trip to the Atlas mountains and Abdou was our driver. If you have the time, take this trip! We stopped in the Berber villages, saw how argon was made and hiked the seven waterfalls. All of this was per recommendation of Celine/Jihane.
There were amazing hosts and made our trip in Morocco one we will not forget.
If you stay, be sure to say hey to Carolina, the pet tortoise, and take the hookah up to the rooftop patio for a nice night of relaxing and conversing with friends. It was a little chilly to utilize the pool, but we took a dip our very last night.
The booze was a little pricey, but the fact that they even thought to provide alcohol in the riad was very nice; you won't find it readily available throughout the city or in the restaurants.
If you want to get out of your comfort zone, yet maintain a bit of luxury during your trip, this is the spot for you. Make friends with Jihane and the local, they know best. Get out of your comfort zone all day so you can come home to your riad and enjoy it that much more.
The riad is in a good location near the spice square which has a number of lovely shops and cafes. It's also near a few great restaurants such as Le Jardin. The walk to the main square is around 7-10 minutes. Jihane (the housekeeper) will walk you to the square on the first day which is very helpful and the route is straightforward to remember after that. The riad itself is as the pictures show; stylish and comfortable. The rooftop was a particular pleasure straight after breakfast and in the evening the riad is lit beautifully. I have been to Marrakesh before and the call to prayer woke me up every day. In this riad the noise from outside is virtually silenced. In terms of day trips, Jihane can arrange for Abdou the taxi driver to take you to the Atlas, for example, and he will stop at the key places (such as the waterfalls). All round we had a great experience and would recommend the riad to a couple or group.
What a lovely time we have had in Marrakech. It started with a warm welcome by Jihane in our riad. The riad was exactly as the photo's we saw on the website. Very comfortable and big but still cosy. I can reccomend it to anyone who wants to visit Marrakech!
The lovely Jihane told us a lot about Marrakech, the culture, food, how to get to the places we wanted to see and much more. She was very helpfull and a great cook!!!!!!! There was a lovely breakfast waiting for us every morning and 3 times we enjoyed her Marrocon diners. She also accompanied us to an authentic hamam, an adventure for us we will never forget!
Thank you Jihane for making us feel so welcome in (website hidden)
