Margie was very welcoming, informative and full of practical tips on how to use the apartment as well as the neighborhood.
The neighborhood itself is very convenient to the town and airport, without a lot of air traffic noise. It's approximately 20 minutes from the windsurfing spotand close to some snorkeling and scuba diving and beaches. Security (theft) seems to be an issue for most of the island so precautions are necessary.
This apartment is in a great location--just south of downtown and an easy walk to the nearest beach/dive spot (18th Palm). We were greeted by Marji, who gave us some great tips on where to go and provided a cell phone for us to use on the island. The apartment has everything you need such as towels, a hair dryer, an ironing board, beach chairs and a safe. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Bonaire.
Thank you Marji for providing us with a very well thought out home base. Marji has outfitted her unit with all of the little things that help to make your stay an easy, enjoyable experience: local cell phone, drying rack, beach towels, safe, kitchen gear etc...
it is a great location for windsurfers - on the lac Bay side of town, but still very close to all the action/restaurants in Willemstad.
I would stay here again if I return to Bonaire.
This was a great room at a great price. Located close to the airport and town center there is also a great diveshop located on site. Marji and her staff were very accommodating and I would definitely recommend a stay here.
My stay was somewhat challenging due to Marji being out of town at the time. But she and her helpful friends assisted me in getting settled and getting my vacation started. The room is in a great spot, quiet yet only a 5 minute drive to downtown. The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette had just the right stuff to allow for simple meals (in my case breakfast). The AC worked nicely. I had some car issues but ironed that out quickly and with great cooperation of "the helpers". Same type of stuff came up with the fridge and again... handled immediately. Overall I had positive and excellent visit at this "no frills" Apt. It was priced right and had the ammenities I needed to thouroughly enjoy myself during my visit. The Apt. even came with a cell phone for local reservations and checking on dive schedules. This was a very nice touch. The car Margi rents was indeed a very good deal as I checked with a local rental company at the end of the trip, just to get a feel, and their goods were much more expensive. Although I did not interact much with "the helpers", I always felt they were just a phone call away if I ran into an issue. Overall I would recommend this Apt to anyone looking for economy accomodations in Bonaire. The Div'Ocean dive shop downstairs was first rate. I did my Open Water Diver Certification (online in advance of visit) with these folks and highly recommned the shop and instructors at Div'Ocean to any visitor contemplating getting certified. The staff is friendly and very professional. The SCUBA equipment appeared to be newer and was in good shape. I am very fair skinned and stayed covered wrist to ankle while diving. The sun here is fierce and those who ignore its effects will pay..... just sayin' : ) Food: Check out Kyte City (1-6 pm) for a Baracuda Burger. Avoid Harbor View resturant - WAY overpriced (However the view is killer for just a drink). Hint: If new to Bonaire, drive around in the daylight and get your bearings relative to the Apt. (so you can find it after dark). I had quite an adventure getting back on my first night. Marji's place rocks and she and her helpers made everything work out. Thanks Marji. Wish I was still there.... Ahhhhhhhhhh.
I had a very enjoyable stay! It was a great room and very convenient location. Both Marji and Yali were amazing hosts and were so helpful and friendly. The room was excellent, clean and it was nice to have cold A/C. I did not get to utilize the pool, but it also looked very clean. The location of the apartment was perfect and it is very close to the beach. I felt safe staying here and if I had any questions or concerns I was able to reach Yali without any difficulty. I would come back to this location to stay.
I had a great stay. I travelled to Bonaire for windsurfing. Because I was dependent on the wind I wanted to arrange my trip and accommodation on very short notice (based on the wind prediction). I also had a standby ticket which made my arrival and departure more or less flexible. The combination of low season and the flexibility of Marji made my stay possible.
The accommodation was a nice and clean one bedroom apartment with bathroom, kitchen corner and balcony. I cooked dinner myself every evening after a day of windsurfing.
Marji also had a rental car available during my stay which made it easy to travel to the surf center at Sorobon beach, go shopping or travel around on the island.
