Ideal for longer-term guests…

We are proud to say this now has every one of the creature comfort we expect from a regular home, including a new stove and oven as well as a new full-size refrigerator and plenty of counter space to cook.

The unit is surrounded by my husband’s tools, machines, and 99 projects… If you ever wanted to see how Family runs a campground and Airbnb cabins… This will give you that behind the curtain look that you may or may not want!

Incredibly unique come escape here!

The space
We have built this little oasis by our workshop as a place to escape work and relax. You can enjoy quiet nature walks by the lake, fishing anywhere on the peninsula, an abundance of birds and wildlife, and the perfect spot for kayaking, canoes or SUPs.

We aren’t your typical lake vacation spot — it’s quiet out here and the stars are in full force every night.

We also operate a small campground which accepts only families doing primitive camping. If you need to relax, this is the place!

———->A WORD OF CAUTION

We are in the wilderness.

You will be accosted by bugs or some perky chipmunks… there are all sorts of vermin out here — copperheads, coral snakes, cottonmouth, water moccasins and at least three types of rattlers can all end your trip early, the weather and water can also be life threatening. If high winds, get away from the trees. Watch out for the red ant…..

….Standing on one of their many hills for more than a minute will result in a lot of jumping around, you may feel like it ruined your entire weekend.

It just might, so be careful. We want you to have fun and return to your life, whole and happy.

Guest access
There are an abundance of tools and machines around the unit. We do our best to keep things tidy and tucked away; that said, small children may be a hazard to bring here (if they’re not well-behaved).

Tractors, chainsaws, sawmill, etc are on the location — everything required to maintain our five cabins on this woody peninsula. We also run construction and woodworking business from the location. Bare feet outdoors is a big “no-no”, as there is a high HIGH concentration of rusty nails, sharp metal shards and probably broken glass underfoot.

We aren’t trying to scare people away—though we do have four other cabins that suit those that it does—rather we want to openly communicate that being HERE is rather like riding shotgun with the owner. If you’re considering buying land, building any sort of campground or cabin resort, you couldn’t find a better place to see what it actually entails!

We ask our guests to look but don’t touch! There are security cameras (none facing doors or violating privacy) focused on expensive equipment and high traffic areas outside.

Other things to note
OCCUPANCY

While we list this dwelling at four (4) maximum occupancy, allowances are made here for families or couples. Our systems are smaller in this unit and heavy wear on them greatly increases our cost (think one man has the AC blasting, in another room the heater is on HIGH). If you plan to bring your wife and two other dudes on a fishing trip, all four will be charged a flat rate per person, per night.

FISHING
Perhaps the best $10 you can spend in America… a one year fishing license is had at any gas station in the area. They all sell worms, too. Walking our coastline to fish is a profitable activity. You can also rent a canoe or Jon boat from our rental service to get around the cove.

PORCHES
There are two wonderful decks you may use while here… the first is connected to your unit, and has doors from each bedroom to access. The second is directly next door to your unit, and features a great fire pit and a walk-down trail to more water access points. Please purchase firewood from staff on site.

*Firewood is notorious for moving harmful pests into previously unaffected forests. :(

ANIMALS
We keep a rather tight-knit pack of dogs, which you’ll surely see while visiting. Their primary function is to keep woodland predators like coyote and bobcat away from our children and livestock. Since we’re a pet-friendly resort, our dogs see, on average between 100-200 new doggie visitors per year. Your dog will be fine too.

Our pack roams leash free, 24-7. With owner’s permission your dog is welcome off-leash as well.

If you’re uncomfortable with large breed dogs, best NOT book our unit.

We do our best to add gating where guests are (porches, etc) so they have the option to allow our dogs to visit or keep them out, especially if you’re eating some good bbq and don’t want to share. :)

We don’t let them into our homes, so don’t believe them, no matter what our dogs tell you. Same goes for the cats, but double.

Arriving you may find yourself the reason our dogs start barking — that’s by design — we like to know when people arrive. It’s not a case for alarm — they also know we like the notifications, and hell, we feed them so they do their best to keep us happy.

WALK/HIKING
We are on 12 acres of our own, which front another uninhabited dozen towards the peninsula’s tip. You’re welcome to roam all our acres, and the rest of the peninsula, please steer clear of the homes on the property, ad be respectful of any campers we may have out. We don’t allow shooting of firearms, though you may hear one from “the neighborhood.” There is a SHORT duck season, you WILL hear buckshot those few mornings, in abundance.
